“That,” Kevan whispered a long while later, his voice hoarse with emotion, “was ten times what I expected, even if it did end way too soon.”
“Next time,” Craig managed to reply.
“I think…Yeah, we’ll take it slow and savor what we’re feeling; now that we know we belong together.” Kevan pulled out, sliding off Craig to take him in his arms. “Because we dobelong together. If I had any questions about it, before, they’re gone.” He kissed Craig softly. “I hope you feel the same.”
“I do,” Craig murmured against his lips. “Never doubt it. I do.” He curled into Kevan’s embrace. “This has been the most wonderful birthday ever.”
“I’m glad I was a part of it.”
“A part? You were allof it. I’ll never forget tonight if I live to be a thousand.”
“If you intend on living that long, you’d better find yourself a vampire to make it happen,” Kevan joked. “And make sure he includes me, as well.”
“Well, duh. Why would I want to extend my life if you weren’t in it?” Craig yawned.
