Chapter 2- Kicked out again?

2 weeks had passed since Artemis and her hunters picked up Skye and they were still hunting the Arternae which had somehow escaped their radar and was presumed to be rushing on the direction of Virginia.

So the hunters chased the creature while Artemis did not interfere but just accompanied the hunt. She took care of waht she assumed to be a little demigod and taught her how to speak and how to read.

Skye absorbed the knowledge like a sponge and was able to speak some sentences by the end of the 2 weeks.

Sky was a bit surprised at how fast all of them were able to move but her attention was quickly shifted back to the delicious cooked food that she had never tasted before in this life.

Every second she wasn't with Artemis or one of the hunters watching them move and hunt, she was digging into the tablecloth on which food magically appeared courtesy of someone named Hestia. She also learnt how to hunt better by watching the hunters and tried to imitate their movements.

She also learnt how to tell the difference between a few edible and unedible vegetation.

The hunters were amazed by her learning speed.

"Whose child might she be Lady Artemis?" a hunter by the name of Zoe Nightshade inquired.

"She in not a child of the Olympians, I can't smell their scent or feel their energy on her."

"Then is she a child of one of the minor gods or Titans?"

"No she is not. I suspect someone and the only reason I am able to sense it is because the Moon is covered in her domain. The child's blanket on which her name is writ smells of the Night."

"But my lady the primordials don't usually care for mortals."

"Yes, they don't and this is not Her child but is likely to be favored by her if she was given a piece of the night sky."

"Do we inform the other Olympians?"

"No, father might just decide to smite her and I don't want an angry primordial after us. At the same time I am the goddess of children and I am not leaving an innocent child in their hands even if their intentions are pure."

"Also she is slowing us down. You

u will continue the the hunt without me. I will drop of the child in New York."

"Yes my lady", Zoe Nightshade obeyed.

In the busy streets of the city that never sleeps walked a pretty girl carrying a child of 2 years in her arms. Nobody seem to notice her and unconsciously stepped out of her way.

She walked to an orphanage and used the most so that theatron may take the child without any fuss.

Artemis looked into the exotic reddish purple eyes of Skye and told her, "I cannot take you with me especially during my hunt and staying with you so long has already stretched the rules that we live by. From here on you will have to survive on your own little one but when you grow up if you choose to do so I will make you my Huntress."

Artemis kissed Skye's forehead, "All mortals usually have a lot name and as you don't I shall give you one. You were found in the forest as ferocious as a predators cub and with my hope for you to join me I name you Skye Hunt."

Artemis gave the child to the matron and disappeared in a flash of silver light.

[Skye Hunt PoV]

It was an enjoyable 2 weeks were my mind relearnt how to speak, read and write. Though these silver clothed ladies were a bit weird in the way they spoke they were all nice people.

It was a bit strange how the leader was one of the youngest looking girls but it didn't really matter much to me.

They moved unnatural fast, like faster than my 'mother' who is a puma and kept at that pace for quite the distances.

They took turns to take care of me but for the most part I was taken care of by Artemis.

I learnt a lot from them. How to move better, how to track better, how to fight better and most importantly how to cook in the wild.

Of course this was not taught to me per se but watching then do their stuff was helpful enough. Even though they could get food from their magic tablecloths they usually just hunted some prey for to cook and eat.

A waste if you ask me. The food provided by someone named Hestia was delicious and also gave a warm feeling whenever I are it.

I knew these people would not take with them forever so while I was there I made the most of it. I ate whenever I could. As long as I didn't feel stuffed I kept eating. Due to this I got much chubbier from my previous frame which was on more of the thin side.

Anyway I really didn't think of all this as supernatural even with the food until Artemis literally teleported in a flash of silver light.

One moment I am somewhere in the middle of the forest and the other I am in a busy street and I am sure I didn't fall asleep.

I was so disconcerted that I didn't even react to what Artemis was doing until she flashes away again.

It was then I realized that I had been kicked out again though I am sure that the reason is not irritation, I think. I did eat a lot of food.

Will my childlike mind get abandonment issues?

Also now that I think about it aren't Artemis and Hestia goddesses in Greek Mythology.

Ah shit this world has gods. Is it only greek or do other pantheons exist? Just the Greek are bad enough I really hope that this stops at this though I doubt that will happen.

Whatever. I hop onto the bed provided by the matron, who had been given a generous donation by Artemis, and it was quite comfortable.

As I really don't want to thunk about gods I simply stop my thoughts from wandering and go to sleep.
