Chapter 62

Jane woke up in the early hours of the morning, she took her bath and dressed up, she wore a black jean and a blue crop top she wore a black jean jacket to compliment her look, she wore a blue sneakers, packed her hair in a ponytail and applied a bit make up

no one had woken up which was a bit weird, Mrs Whitney would have woken up by now, was she trying to avoid her? well given what had happened last night, it was understandable

she went ahead and knocked her door, but she didn't get any response, she was more convinced that she was avoiding her

"Mrs Whitney I'm off to work, I will see you later at night" she said and left

Christopher had already woken up, he didn't sleep much anyways he spent most of the night thinking about Jane, at this rate he was sure to go crazy soon, he had already taken his bath, he wore his, shirt, pant, and everything else except his tie and shoe, he wanted to have a reason to have her close

Jane got to the mansion, and went straight to the kitchen, she made Chris some coffee and for some reason she could not explain she felt happy that she was going to see him this morning, infact she looked forward it

she made her way to his room and knocked on the door and as if he was also waiting for her arrival the door flung open in seconds

"you are here" Chris said trying his possible best not to smile but he almost failed, damn he had plan to sound indifferent

"yes , good morning Sir, I brought you your coffee" Jane said smiling to her eyes, without even realizing it

"hmmm, come inside" Chris said

Jane entered the room and placed the coffee on the table

"I will be outside if you need anything" Jane said

"I actually need something" Chris hurriedly said before she could leave the room

"what's that?" Jane asked

"my tie and shoe" Chris said and looked away

"uhnnn?"

"do my tie and help me with my shoe" Chris said

"oh okay" she answered and took the tie

"but I don't know how to do a tie?"

"you don't?" he asked surprised

Jane nodded, Chris was amused, who doesn't know how to do a tie in this century, then he thought, does that mean she doesn't do her boyfriend's tie, are there not close?

Chris grabbed her hand and dragged her to the mirror he turned her around and made her back to face him, he then made the tie on her neck, he did it several times

"do you get it now?" Chris asked

"no" Jane nodded, how will she concentrate when his hands were wrapped over chest

Chris found her extremely cute this morning, she looked like a college student "how old are you?" Chris asked

"I'm 21 years old" Jane said

"you are quite young" Chris said

"how about your parents?" he asked

"I don't know them, I'm an orphan" Jane said and her face dropped

Chris noticed her countenance and decided to stop asking, that must be the reason why she's living with that guy

"how old are you?" Jane asked with her face facing him

"I'm 30 years" Chris said surprisingly, he didn't know why he replied her, he would never answer if it was someone else

"hmmmm, you are really old" Jane said sarcastically

"what? of course not" Chris said

Jane could not help but chuckle, she got carried with the atmosphere and forgot he was her boss

Chris has never felt this alive, he had also forgotten she was his maid, he could only see a woman that makes him feel good right in front of him and he forgot about everything else

Chris got carried away and wrapped his arms around her waist and they both stayed in that compromising position until someone opened the door

"uhmm Chris dad and everyone is waiting for you" Grace said and almost ran back outside when she saw Chris and Jane standing together like that

Chris and Jane quickly came back to reality, Jane felt extremely embarrassed, it was like she should just vanish

"am I interrupting anything?" Grace asked puzzled

"uhmm no miss Grace of course not, I was just preparing Mr Chris for work, I was about to uhmm uhmmm" she stammered and didn't know what to say, she was lost for words, she was extremely nervous, there had truly been standing in an awkward position, she could have misunderstood

seeing that Jane was struggling with words, he decided to come in

"you were going to help me with my socks and shoe" Chris said

"oh yes, uhmm yes your shoe, I mean socks, I mean both"

Jane quickly took the socks and helped him with it, the air was really awkward around them, beads of sweat formed on Jane's forehead

she finally finished helping him get dressed "I'm done" she said

"uhmm thanks, my bag" Chris said gesturing for her to carry his bag along and walked out of the room

Grace followed after him, Jane heaved in relief, she carried his bag and followed after them both

Christopher got downstairs outside the main house and found out that almost everyone was waiting for him, his dad, mom, old Charles, Estella and some maids

"son, did something happen, we've waiting for you for some time now" Maria complained

"no mom, nothing happened, just trying to look my best, it's my first day at work and I'm taking over from dad, I should look my best, don't you think" Chris lied

"of course son, you should" Maria said

"are you ready now?" Williams asked

"yes dad" he said as he scanned his surrounding for Jane, he saw her behind Grace and gestured for her to come forward

Jane saw him and moved closer to him

"get in the car" he said

Jane and everyone was stunned, he was going to take her to work, what for? Jane thought her place was here in the house, not at the office, how could she possibly be useful to him over there

"what? what's going on here son, you can't take a maid to the company, she's just a maid" Maria complained bitterly
