Chapter 24

Zain suddenly felt like he was struck by lightning, he couldn't move, he was struck by her smile, how can one smile warm his heart this much he thought "are you coming in?" Jane asked "oh of course, forgive me, it's just that I had a long day, am a bit tired" Zain lied, there was no way he was going to tell her it was her smile that made him unable to move, maybe one day he would tell her how much everything about her intrigues him and how much he loves her, one day very soon he hopes but not today ' patience Zain, patience ' he told himself

"Juliet said john was here I came to pick him up" Zain said "please sit I will get him for you, he's with Chris in his room" Jane said and walked away "thanks" he muttered after her

Mrs Whitney walked into the living room, she just finished cooking dinner, she was going to call Jane and the boys when she saw Zain in the living room, her eyes widened with shock, "hello Zain" Mrs Whitney greeted she was smiling to her ear, she was obviously happy to see him, she really wants he and Jane to get together, "good evening Mrs Whitney, so good to see you" Zain greeted back "same here, good to see you too, how are you doing and how is work?" Mrs Whitney asked "all fine Mrs Whitney, thanks for asking" Zain replied "are you here to see Jane? she must be in her room, I will go get her for you" Mrs Whitney said "he came here to pick John" Jane said, she was already in the living room with both boys by her side

"oh is that so?" Mrs Whitney said looking a bit disappointed "yes Mrs Whitney, I actually came here to get john, but I also came here to see you Jane" Zain interjected "oh okay" Jane replied

"if that's the case the boys and I will be in the kitchen we will just leave you two to talk for a while" Mrs Whitney said, she walked up to Jane and whispered to her "don't be too hard on the young man okay?" Jane gave Mrs Whitney a questioning look "oh don't be so naive he's probably here to confess his feeling to you, don't be hard on him and just say yes" she quickly said and walked away, she doesn't know what Jane will do to her after Zain leave but she just has to take the chance, she left with the two boys

Jane couldn't believe her ears, what did she just say, she thought to herself, she just hope Zain hadn't hear any of the nonsense she spat out, if not she will kill her, she cleared her throat and spoke "please sit down" she said to Zain, "thank you" Zain replied, he had been standing since Mrs Whitney came, he finally had the chance to sit down

"so you said you wanted to see me" Jane asked "yes it's as regards the job" Zain replied her, "really so fast, you got me the job" Jane asked, she was really surprised, she knew how many months it took her to get her current job, but here was Zain telling her he got the job for just after two days ' wow he must be really important at his company ' she thought to herself

"well yes,but am not really sure you would like it, I couldn't get any post for you at the company" Zain said with a tone of sadness "who says it has to be a office job, as long as I don't have to serve tables in a club or anything of sort, and if it's nothing dangerous or illegal, I really don't mind" Jane said "really, you don't mind?" Zain asked "of course I don't, I really wasn't expecting you to get me an office kind of job, I didnt even attend college, remember" "hmmm yeah, I never forgot" Zain replied

"so what kind of job is it?" Jane asked she was really curious to know "well our president's son is coming back to the country in few days and the family needs a personal maid for him, to tend to his needs only, can you do it?" Zain asked he was still a bit worried she wouldn't like the job

Jane thought for a while before replying "will I have to live there?"

"well I don't really have the details of the job, you will have to go there on Wednesday for the interview, here I brought the address of the house" he handed her the paper that cat has given him earlier "what's this?" Jane asked analyzing the paper in her hand "it's just the address to the house, and name of the company you are supposed to be going through" Zain said "a company, I don't understand" Jane asked she was confused

"this family you are working for are the richest and most powerful family in the country, they implore protocols in everything they do, they are hiring the maid from this company, Linkway resources, but we have the time to start going through that process first, it takes months, so you are going into the house as one of the applicants from the company, that's why you have to get there earlier so you can gain access" Zain explained

"wow this is a little bit complicated but what if I get caught" Jane said "that won't happen, no one knows about the job, they won't doubt you" Zain replied her "but I don't know this place" Jane complained "I can take you there if you don't mind" Zain said "but won't you be working? I don't want to be a bother to you" Jane said "of course not you can never be a bother to me, it will be my pleasure to help you" Zain said "thanks" Jane said blushing, no one had really cared for this much except for Mrs Whitney and Cassie, Mrs Whitney was right he his a good man.
