"you are not such a terrible mother after all" Florence said glancing at Maria with malice

it's no news that this two don't get along so well

"please don't start your nonsense this evening, we are here for a family dinner and I want peace at this table" Rebecca shouted at them

"sorry mother it's just that I never thought a maid could bring up such children, she should just count herself lucky they have my brother's blood" she said this time her voice louder, she always make sure to embarrass her anytime she has the chance

Maria was boiling with anger but she didn't dare to say anything because Rebecca was seated with them

"aunt Florence can you stop already, at least respect grandma and my dad, gosh" she said irritated

"Florence enough let's just eat" Williams said

the table was quiet, and the maids start to serve the table, Stephanie and Cole were the only cousins available at the table tonight, the rest were not around

Stephanie glanced at Grace who was with her phone and spoke calmly " hey cousin I saw the news of your movie premiere online, such good news congratulations" she smiled

"thanks cousin, we will talk once dinner is over" she smiled excitedly at her

on the other side of the table Chris was sitting next to his father, he was absent minded as a lot of things were running through his mind, but he heard Cole's voice from the other side of the table

"hey cous" what's up Cole said in his disgusting voice

"I'm good" he answered coldly they never got along anyways

"you know you can always pass the company over to me" he said sarcastically and everyone heard him

Chris didn't reply him, he knew better than to exchange words with him, he was nothing but a looser

Cole is Fred's son who happens to be Williams brother, he never liked the fact that his brother got to be the owner of the Smith's corporation and he has tried severally to overthrow him but he was just no match for him, the hatred passed down from Fred to Cole making them enemies

soon the dinner started but Rebecca suddenly stopped them from eating

"wait a minute where is the little boy Chris?" she asked

Maria felt like dying at the spot, ' what the hell is nana trying to do ' she thought

' if they were to find out that Chris had adopted that maid's son traditionally Florence and Abigail would mock her to death ' she thought

"come on mother that's not necessary now, let's just eat" she said trying to divert her attention

"no I want to boy at this table" she said firmly

"Estella get Christopher" Chris who had been silent spoke, he even wondered where Jane was at the moment

few minutes later Chris was brought to the dinning hall, he was intimated when he saw all the new faces but Chris gave him a reassuring look, he calmed down and walked close to Chris

Rebecca requested a seat be made available to him, the boy had captured her heart, he looks just like Christopher when he was little she doesn't know why they all can't see it

Grace was starting to wonder where Jane was when Cole said something

"holy muse, when did we have another addition to the family?" Cole exclaimed as he saw Jane walking to the table with some wine bottle in her hands, Thelma followed her with a tray containing some wine glasses

Jane had being in the kitchen almost five minutes ago, she came as soon as she found what to wear, she had been updated by Thelma that madam Rebecca asked for Chris immediately she entered the kitchen

she became worried, she wanted to be there to see how they will treat her son, she knew Chris and Grace were there to watch over him but she was still worried especially after Grace has warn her about her aunts

it means they are not nice people

when she saw that Thelma was going to the dinning to serve wine, she decided to tag along, that way she can see what's going on there, she needs to be by Chris's side after all

that way she can make up for her lateness

she chose a yellow flare off shoulder gown from Grace's closet after trying hard to choose a dress, all the clothes were too classy and expensive, she chose the one she felt was simple enough for her

yet the dress complimented her beauty more, like she was born for it and the dress was made for her

her long black hair flowed down her back, she looked like a beauty goddess sent from noon, Cole couldn't help but drool, he was known to be a pimp that chases after everything under skirt

everyone could not help but notice Jane, she was too beautiful to go unnoticed, she stepped into the dinning hall gracefully like she owned the world

Christopher heart beat faster at the sight of her, now more than ever he really wanted to pounce on her, she looked damn good tonight

he couldn't help but swallow the invisible lump in his throat, he even had to take some water to calm down

Cole saw her approaching and quickly stood up to help her with the wine, using the opportunity to hold her waist he collected the wine and placed it on the table, he thought maybe she was a guest tonight, and he really wanted to be nice and polite

he didn't want to ruin his chances with this beauty

Chris eyes darkened upon seeing his gesture, he wanted to tear his hands of her body

' how dare he touch her like that ' he thought, a sense of anger washed through him, he wanted to speak when little Chris spoke first

"mummy you are here" little Chris said upon noticing his mother

Jane didn't say anything she only nodded and smiled sweetly at him, he smiled back at her

"oh you are this boy's mummy" Cole said sounding disappointed

"can we just eat already, enough of the nonsense" Chris blurted out, he was starting to get sick to his stomach
