Chapter 7

Claudia

'Hey Maddie, will you come to our anniversary?' I asked. She just shrugged. 'Please Maddie you have to come, it will be more of an anniversary and farewell kind party.' 'I got no choice but to come' she finally replied. Ken and I were celebrating six months together and I planned a little something to celebrate this day, and since he would be graduating in a few months, this would also be more like a little farewell cause soon he would be going to college. I didn't know what the future held for us but I hoped we would still be together even if he leaves for college. I don't know if he wants to go to college, he never mentioned anything about college but if he went, I hope we still be together.

Maddie

Claudia just asked me to come to their six month anniversary, I really didn't want to go, I hate social gatherings but I have no choice, I have to be there for my best friend. Both her parents would be working and her little brother was spending the weekend at his friend's house. Soon Ken would be graduating, I don't why I wasn't pleased at all that he was graduating when I should be. With him gone, it would just be Claudia and I which is something I should be happy about right? To my surprise I was not, maybe because guys who stopped bothering us would soon start to come for us since the one person who shielded us all the time would be leaving.

'Maddie!' Claudia shouted and I flinched. 'Oh my God, you scared me.' 'What's on your mind, you just zoned out.' 'I was thinking about what was going to happen to us once Ken graduates, he was the one who kept us safe in this school.' 'No need to worry Maddie, we have a good support system. Some of Ken's team players are still going to be here next year so we are good. And who in their right mind would try bullying the team captain's sister and girlfriend?'

The party turned out great, Claudia invited the team players and some close friends. We had fun, the next morning all Claudia could talk about was how the party went. She was really proud of herself for pulling this through.

Claudia

The party was awesome, we had fun. Ken got me a bracelet with both our initials and a bouquet of flowers, it was the cutest thing ever. The next day I went shopping with Maddie, my brother's birthday was coming up. I can't believe my little partner in crime would be eight. He was the most cutest boy I have ever seen. 'Sissy, when is my birthday?' That's what he asked about this past week. I really loved it when he called me sissy. 'What should we get him?' I asked. 'I was planning on buying him a little toy robot, I saw one in that toy shop over there.' My little brother has been obsessed with robots since he was a baby, a passion he got to share with Maddie. Maddie also loved robots, she even started a robotics team at our school. 'I am planning on buying him the color changing led lights.He seemed to be obsessed with them recently.' It seemed like his best friend had them so he also wanted them for his bedroom.

We bought the gifts and then went out to eat. 'I got you a little something.' I said to Maddie. 'What for, it's not even my birthday.' 'I don't need a reason to buy my best friend a gift or do I?' 'What is it?' I smiled at how her eyes gleamed as she waited for me to give it to her. 'You got to close your eyes first' I teased her. 'Come on Claudia, do I really have to, you know how I hate surprises.' She still complied and closed her eyes even after complaining. 'You are gonna love this one, put your hands forward.' 'Oh my God Claudia, this better be good.' She extended her hands towards me and without hesitation I squeezed the ketchup on her hand. I instantly burst out laughing. 'Ew, why is it wet?' I continued to laugh. 'Claudia this is not funny, can I open my eyes now?' 'Claudia, why did you do that?' She was deeply disappointed. I took out the napkin and wiped her hand. 'I am sorry, okay here is your gift.' I handed her a little gift bag. She was hesitant to open it. 'What if this is one of your little pranks?' 'I promise, this one is not a prank.' She finally peeked inside the gift bag and pulled the little box out. 'No way, no you didn't, you did not. Claudia_' she became emotional. 'I saw you looking at it every time we went shopping, so I knew I had to get it for you.' She started to cry. 'Claudia_' she said still crying. 'Do you like it?' 'Like it, I love it Claudia. Thank you.' 'You are welcome.' I got her a pendant necklace, it had a moon pendant which you could spin. She began spinning the pendant around smiling. 'I am glad you love it.'
