Jacobi couldn't believe his ears. Charlotte was dumping him the minute she needed him the most. He knew she was making a rash decision in the heat of her anger so he tried his best to remedy the situation in any way he could and he attempted touching her.

"Charlotte," he started reaching out to hold her.

"Don't touch me with that filthy hands of yours!" Charlotte cried. "Do you think I'm a fool? Oh yes, I've been a fool I know but do you think I would remain a fool forever?"

Jacobi stared at her, confused. He wondered where she was driving to. "Charlotte.." he started again, attempting to hold her left hand. She slapped him hard across the cheek and he moved back a bit, surprised that she had laid her hands on him.

"Charlotte," he started again. "If there's something you're not telling me, you can tell me now. What lies has Ratzinger fed you about me!"

"Not just about you," Charlotte cried. "About you and Sheila."
