Chapter 110 – A War with Batela

Third person POV

But this sense of peace in the region and the Southern Plains didn't last long when the remaining soldiers who had managed to flee Halestone Town went to their leader, the crowned prince of Batela Aren Krähenblut, and reported to him about their failed invasion of Halestone Town within the Southern Plains, as well as those who were responsible for resisting their attack. Aren, a young man with dark bluish-violet hair, black eyes, and a tall, slender figure, was quite upset and displeased by how his army division had failed him.

"How? What is that 'metal fortress that can move, huh?'"

He looked at them with intimidation and hostility on his face, some of his marks of his character.

His father, the former king Arius Krähenblut, was nearby while sitting on medieval version of a wheelchair listening to his son.

That person had injured his legs after a raid on the Southern Plains that happened and failed a long time ago and now, he stepped down and gave the position to Aren.

His new position now is advisor to him while Aren was waiting to be on an age of being the full king of Batela.

"Your Highness," one of the surviving soldiers said to Aren, "it was someone in blue and had a weird cap we never seen before who killed most of our men. That person was brutal and ruthless and can use his vehicle to flow lightning magic, too."

"Forgive us of our failures," another added while kneeling down on one knew, "we underestimated his sheer power and strength and-"

"You failed me!" shouted Aren while standing up and pointing his finger at them. "Off with your heads!"

Then to some palace guards near him. "Guards, execute them for their failures!"

Arius was taken aback by his response and outburst, while the remaining soldiers were shocked and are now begging Aren for mercy.

But it was no use, and they were taken by the palace guards out of Aren's presence and court to be executed at one of the barracks in Batela's capital, Queva City.

This leaves Aren in turmoil because of their failure that ended in the loss of most of the 4-battalion army he had sent to invade Halestone Town and steal their resources like mines and their riches untouched and unmined. Now, against his father's advice, Aren declared war on the Southern Plains and sent a letter declaring that to Rossley, the Southern Plains.

As a result, 6 hours later, while Russell and his friends had remained in Halestone Town to help out in the town's hospital, the letter had arrived in the palace in Rossley and in the hands of George and Nicholas. George and Nicholas were shocked to read the details and the reasons behind the declaration of war behind it. Then, combined with reports they had received from soldiers and royal officials stationed in Halestone Town, both decided to prepare for the imminent war against Batela. Adrian and the Governor of the Principality of Jaleno, Santino Curran, were shocked to hear that, and Adrian asked them about Russell's currents whereabouts.

"Apparently, that person that is your friend who had what you call a bus was in that town at the moment," one of the reporting messengers of a royal official from Halestone Town replied back. "He apparently the bulk of the victory against Batela's soldiers."

Hearing that made Adrian almost dropped his jaw in awe and shock, while Santino, a man with thick, dark grey hair and dark blue eyes, was stunned.

"Woah, Russell is so strong…" Adrian commented in awe.

"That youngster who gave my subjects fast and cheap transportation almost every day had saved my mining town within my jurisdiction," Santino added.

At the time of the invasion of Halestone Town by Batela, Santino was at the royal palace for some duties to the royal family.

And so, the Southern Plains began to prepare for the war against Batela in just hours.
