Chapter 4 — Practicing Hand Signs

His second time cultivating chakra, Ren Tainyou realized he'd been cultivating past evening when he awoke.

Now, the amount of chakra within his body was twice as much as before, though he felt quite hungry once again, leaving him with no choice but to stand up and go out hunting again.

Looking at the orange-dyed sky made him realize that he should hurry, as the most powerful magical Beasts moved in the night.

Even now, he was currently at risk of running into a powerful beast, and if he did, then it was guaranteed goodbye.

Traversing the forest once again, he walked with the utmost vigilance, just as he did the first time coming here.

He suddenly felt blood start trickling from his left cheek unknowingly; touching the wound, he realized that it was only a scratch, and in the distance, atop a tree, the lightning cat stood, licking his blood from its paw.

Sweating, Ren Tainyou realized that the odds were currently stacked against him, as the sun was setting, so he couldn't see properly; everything around him was getting submerged into darkness.

He could see it, and if one looked at Ren Tainyou at the moment, they would see a pair of rapidly moving scarlet eyes glowing in the dark.

Ren Tainyou suddenly realized that the Sharingan had been activated unknowingly, as one Tomoe slowly rotated in the depth of his irises.

Even though this was a single Tomoe Sharingan, as a big fan of Naruto, he knew that the single Tomoe Sharingan would grant the user enhanced visual prowess, effectively giving the user bullet time.

As the eye would slow down the opponent's movements and give the user a chance to counterattack.

Looking around, Ren Tainyou saw that he was currently being surrounded, as he saw four more lightning cats standing atop the branches of the trees.

One lightning cat, seemingly eager, lunged at Ren Tainyou, who calmly shifted his body slightly.

With a simple twirl, he viciously slammed his stick on the lightning cat's neck, which broke with a sickening...

Immediately ending its life.

The whole ordeal taking no less than 3 seconds.

Ren Tainyou reached out and held the closest lightning cat, flying towards him on his right, and tightly clutched it by its tiny head with his right hand.

And as a finisher, he violently dragged it as if he were throwing a javelin and viciously threw it towards the other lightning cat on his left.

For some Ninjutsu to activate, the required hand seals should be made within a given time; otherwise, it would fail.

For example, the Shuriken Shadow Clone Jutsu needed all together 8 Hand Signs, which were:

Ox—Dog—Dragon—Rat—Dog—Boar—Serpent—Tiger.

These signs must be formed within 4 seconds to activate this Jutsu.

Although some Jonin (Senior ninja) didn't provide a specific time, they don't take more than 4 seconds to make all those hand signs.

And some high-level Jutsu like — Water Style — Water Dragon Jutsu required a whopping 44 hand signs to activate.

From this, he could see that if he was not familiar in making hand seals then he should forget about using any high-level Ninjutsu.

In the previous life, every day he had seen Naruto anime and was a super fan of this series. So without a doubt, he knew the importance of hand seals.

His goal was to become just like Itachi Uchiha, who not only could make hand sign with one hand but could also make at least 5 hand signs in a second.

He carefully noted all the basic hand signs which were shown in Jutsu Tab Window and started to meticulously practice imitating them.

After almost 3 hours since he started practicing making hand signs, he stopped as his fingers had started cramping.

Till now he had only practiced making those 12 basic hand signs and he had already become quite proficient in making them.

As for making hand signs with one hand — he didn't even attempt practicing that just yet.

Taking a break, he marveled at the two bright big moons in the sky.
