“So, what do you think about my family?” I asked Lycia as we headed back to our rooms.
“I like them a lot.” She chuckled, smiling up at me. “I don’t know what you were so afraid of. They were really nice to me. Even Siren.”
“That was a shock for me, too.” I pushed the elevator button and waited for her to go in first. “You surprised me tonight.”
“Oh... My Prince?” The devil danced in her eyes.
“Okay! Laugh it up!” I chuckled as I shook my head. Then I grew serious, wanting her to listen carefully to what I was about to say. “My family, this life, usually scares people. But not you. You got along famously with my family, and they accepted you right away.” I laughed. “Hell! Even my father liked you... and he rarely likes anyone!”
She laughed as we headed up in the elevator.
Then an idea hit me. “How are you feeling?”
“Pretty good, I guess. Usually, morning sickness hits me hard early.” She shrugged. “Now, I’m fine.”
