He stayed quiet. Man, back then he had longed to get into the drama club so much that he had tried hard enough at auditions only to find out that he had already been inducted into the student council without his consent. He remembered being so upset that time that he didn't come home until late at night, that was the first and only time he did that. That day Hirsch had invited him to his house to forget for a moment about his father's decision, which worked.

However, the scolding that waited for him at home made him understand that he was old enough to throw such tantrums. Because just that day his father had come home early from work and there was no Sebastian's whereabouts at home. Rather than being concerned, his father was annoyed with his son's childish attitude, believing that, again, he was raising a nuisance who did not follow simple instructions.

"I wanted to join the drama club," he commented crestfallen in a barely audible voice.

He hated having to admit that reality. The reality where he could not decide anything on his own, as if it were someone without a vote. And it hurt more to have to mention it to Nathaniel, who seemed to be such a free soul that he was too envious.

"What happened?" Asked the guy, inclining his head a little and keeping his gaze fixed on the older one.

"My father was a member of council when he was in high school and in his senior year, he became the leader," he said, letting out a sigh. "He wanted me to follow in his footsteps and also enter in the council. So, he asked the director to bring me in even when I wasn't interested in being a part of. In short, that's what happened."

"That's possible? Isn't that against the rules of society?"

Sebastian laughed at the younger boy's innocence. The raven had believed that the silver-haired guy was too intelligent to know that the world did not work with democracy or vote. That was simply a fallacy that society believed, because you could not see what that lie hid behind. It was not something new to black-haired boy, being something that had existed since the very beginning. He believed that, if it weren't for that "little" lie, the world would be a much bigger mess than it already was.

"Things don't work like that, Nathaniel. My father gives a large amount of money to the school. He prefers to call it a "donation", but we know that it is only a way of showing the power he has and that it is better to be on his side than against him. Of course, it is something that is far from being correct, but the director has never refused to accept such donations, and I could bet that he is always happy to see the number of leading zeros on the check. It is a bribe: the principal gets the money to buy a new car and my father gets some government at the school. An equitable agreement that they both reached."

The silver-haired guy was stunned, probably not believing what Sebastian had just revealed to him. He just shrugged, saying nothing more about his father's dealings. Of course, he was not proud of his father's attitude, but there was nothing he could do about it. As much as he wanted to have a transparent life like his ex-best friend, with nothing to hide; he had been ruled to lie over and over again without end in order to cover what his father started.

The youngest was finally going to say something, but his cell phone rang again, this time announcing the farewell. 17:00 was the time that his alarm clock read. Not a minute more, not a minute less.

Nathaniel got up and started packing his belongings in his backpack. Jin mimicked his action, moving his supplies from the bed to the desk. At night he would settle his disorder again, as he used to do daily when insomnia appeared. He preferred to leave various things out of place at the moment so that later he would have something to entertain himself while he waited to fall asleep.

When the younger had the backpack slung over his shoulder, they both left the room and went down the stairs in silence, their footsteps echoing in the great room. Despite the fact that their relationship was not the best, the raven would not ignore the rules of etiquette of accompanying the guest until departure.

"See you tomorrow," the silver-haired boy smiled after his words.

Sebastian just nodded, walking him to the door. The boy also said goodbye to the housekeeper before heading out the door and making his way to the sidewalk, losing himself to the left of the sidewalk. The raven stared from the doorframe, poking his head slightly to continue watching him walk a small part of the street.

"See you tomorrow ..." he said in a soft voice when he saw him disappear, knowing that his classmate was far enough away to hear him.

After several seconds where the wind hit his face, he closed the door, entering the complete silence that the house had with only two people inside it. He sighed, returning with muted steps to the solitude of his room, where he flopped onto the large bed.

Sebastian had learned a thing or two after that counseling, like the silver-haired guy's great taste for music, as well as he liked spending a lot of time inside his thoughts. He had discovered that the boy had a sister and that his parents were against his dream of being a musician and that, despite that, he did not plan to give up.

"He's too curious", he thought, giving a small smile as he found himself thinking about the person he hated the most.

However, that day Nathaniel had also learned something: the oldest was greatly influenced by the decisions of others, being his father's favorite puppet.
