I stand in a darkerened area, it stretches off into nothing and I am alone. I don't even see the ground under my feet. Well, this is strange. must be some sort of waiting area for when you drop? This game is nuts. I may as well take this time to go over my menu and figure out anything really. I open the menu and take a look.
Equipment, Inventory, Stats, Skills, Game Options, Log Out. All there as it was last time. I mentally select skills.

Yeah, that seemed about right. All at novice level though which is interesting. I back out and select stats.

Huh, I assume you can gain progress in your stats as you do things? Kind of embarrassing that my hardiness is the furthest along. I need some armour and a shield for the love of god.
Opening up equipment i see a 3D model of myself in my basic now torn pants, shirtless, no shoes and holding a rusty dagger. It's a perfect model of me, I figured the Immerse could only scan my face but it had all the details on my body correct, from Scars to height.
I stand at 5'10, with messy black hair that i can never get into any sort of control and brown eyes. I have a prominent scar on my stomach from where I had surgery as a kid but otherwise i am entirely unremarkable. I wonder how it got those details correct?
Feeling a little weirded out, I ignore the inventory menu and open up the Game Options. I'm near assaulted by the sheer scope of options. I turn on my health bar and get an innate sense immediately that i'm at -3/110. Oh my god that is immediately useful. I turn on the combat log. You have been crit for 70 Damage and Inflicted with Bleeding! Better get that checked! Why was this stuff off?? Fuck complete immersion, give me information. I fiddle around and toggle some more options on. I can't find anything that affects pain.
Checking the timer, 2 Hours 50 Minutes 32 Seconds! Sighing, I log out.
I come back to the real world. Strangely, my muscles hurt. I take off the helmet and look at my shitty little room. Everything still a mess, as i left it. I set a timer on my phone for when the unconcious timer ends and get up to go grab something to drink and eat.
A glass of water and packaged ramen later i boot up my pc and go check the forums for the game. A few threads complaining about not being able to get the system, some threads about not being able to find any sort of friends list, a few threads complaining about the pain. Surprisingly though it was being defended, zelously in some places. The major consensus finding it an interesting twist and liking it. Checking the main game page, Adam had released an announcement about the friends list being down about an hour ago. He was working on a fix and said there were guilds to be implemented as well.
I browse the forums for the remaining time trying to find any sort of new information to no avail and before I know it the timer is up. I sit back down on the bed and put the helmet back on.
