I Want Her

"Then who allowed you two to stay in one room?" Nicholas grasped his phone. "You can't be trusted."

Erick stood up. "Our boss did."

"Who is your—"

"I've given enough information. Don't you think it's time for you to answer mine now?"

Nicholas told a deep breath, trying to hold his patience. "Go ahead then."

"What's her type?" Erick looked at the window beside him. "Does she like boys who are—"

"You think I would tell you?"

"If you don't, then I can't reassure you that I won't do anything to her."

"You! If you really do something to her, I'll really—"

"You'll what?" Erick bursted into laughter. "Kill me? Why do you even care? Are you in love with her?"

"I'm just concerned." Nicholas clenched his fist. "I know her more than anyone."

"You sure about that?"

"What makes you think that you know better?"

"It's been more than ten years and you never actually realized her feelings for you? I can't believe you're such a pathetic moron."

"That's it?" Nicholas slammed the table. "You don't even know what true love is."

"Shouldn't I be the one telling you that? You're just hurting her and yourself." Erick started stirring his coffee. "I'll make Adele mine before you even realize your feelings for her. By that time, you won't even have a chance because It'll all be too late, Nicholas."

"You really think that I have feelings for her? I just want her to date someone reliable."

"Am I not?"

"Are you even—"

"I'm serious about her. Is this enough?"

"There's nothing special about her." Nicholas leaned back on his chair. "What made you like her?"

"Do I need a reason to?" Erick brought out his wallet. "I just like her, so don't get in my way, fool."

(Present time)

"H-How did you do that...?" Adeline clenched her fist.

"I have my own ways." Erick lifted her chin. "Its such a pity that he doesn't give a damn about his hot female employees."

"What right have you to say that he's a—"

"Why? Are you jealous? I thought you didn't care."

"He isn't a flirt like you. All you care about is love, sex, and women." Adeline picked up the files on her desk. "I'm just one of the women you're playing with right?"

"Is that what you think of me?" Erick flashed his eyes angrily at her. "Yes, I did date a lot of women in the past, but I've never done anything with them!"

"I never asked. You don't need to explain."

"You're saying this so that I'll give up right?"

Adeline shook her head, sitting down on her chair. "We have a lot of things to do. We should get back to work."

Erick grabbed her wrist and turned her around before she crashed into his hard chest. "I-I'm sorry."

"What?"

"Didn't you hear me? I just apolo—"

"Why would you do that?" Adeline bursted into laughter. "It's my first time hearing you say that after a long time."

"Don't leave." Erick hugged her from the back. "I'm sorry for shouting at you."

"Whatever. Let go."

"Are you still angry?"

"I'll think about it."

"You can't leave this room till you tell me."

"Stop acting childish. I do not have the time nor energy to play with you."

"Play?" Erick loosened his grip and turned her around. "So you take my feelings as a—"

Adeline covered his mouth. "Don't misinterpret me. That attitude is detestable."

"A-Are we good now...?"

"Don't disturb me and everything will be fine."

"Why? Are you scared that some day you'll fall for me?"

Adeline mumbled, "I already did...silly..."
