I Will Love You In This Life

"You lowly commoner." That phrase was the only thing he remembered before his death, but that didn't affect him at all because, in the end, he would go back in time and live in another loop. Ares Trasven, a name that the tyrant gave him after he took him as a slave and threw him into the basement so he could learn how to serve for the rest of his life. He was raised and fed so he could become the tyrant's daughter's plaything. Alexandria Valtris, the daughter's tyrant, was the symbol of destruction and chaos. She was so evil that everyone wanted her dead. Ares served her all his life until her death on her 21st birthday by poisoned. Ares was so thrilled and happy about her death that he realized that he was poisoned as well. He woke up and it happened again, he was picked up by the tyrant. Tortured, starved, and brainwashed again for the second time. The third time... The fourth time... The fifth time... "Prophecy? What kind of bullshit is that? You made her that way..." Ares scoffed with tears in his eyes. "Alexandria... I will love you in this life..." Ares said as he wiped his tears.

Master of all things.

Ares's first day as Alexandria's personal knight finally came, he was a bit anxious because this was the first time he took this route. The tip of his fingers had been tingling all night and his heart pounded really fast which made him impossible to sleep.

Ares stayed around the mansion because he became Alexandria's personal knight, he had to be ready to escort her whenever she decided to go to the city. He looked around and the maids were surrounding him and asking him about his private life. He was overwhelmed by questions and couldn't answer them properly until Alexandria walked down the stairs and she glared at the maids then they hurriedly went back to work.

"Are you standing there on purpose to attract those commoners?" Alexandria asked. "I'm not surprised since you're still a commoner like them. All of you disgust me," she continued as she glanced at the maids who were hiding their faces.

Ares bowed his head. "Good morning, my lady," he said. "I'm here because I'm on duty since my lady ordered me to stay in the mansion until the night comes or until my lady dismissed me from my duty," he continued.

Alexandria rolled her eyes and sighed. "The next time I see you talking with those maids, I will cut your tongue," she said as she glanced at him.

"Yes, my lady," Ares bowed his head.

"Come, I want to go to the capital city," Alexandria said as she walked past him with Nadia and Vanessa following behind her.

Ares followed her without asking a single question then he saw a luxury carriage parked in front of the mansion. He walked past Alexandria and opened the carriage door for her and the ladies-in-waiting. Ares looked at Nadia and Vanessa, they both were smiling at him and he smiled back at them and the moment they entered the carriage his smile disappeared.

Ares got on the carriage at the front with the coachman next to him, they left the mansion and went to the capital city.

It was all thank to the luxury carriage that was specially made for the Valtris family all the people were looking at the carriage and felt a bit worried about its presence. Ares didn't bother about it because it was the first time he came to the capital city in this life, he started to reminisce about the past lives he had. He looked to his left and saw fancy restaurants along the road, each and every one of them had a secret society that the nobles made and he knew every single one of them.

The carriage stopped in front of a building with huge see-through glass at the front. So many dresses were being shown and Ares was just staring at them then he got off of the carriage to open the door for the ladies.

Alexandria, Nadia, and Vanessa came down from the carriage, Alexandria then looked at Ares while she pointed at the entrance. "Don't go anywhere and stay there until we are finished fitting for a dress," she said.

"Fitting for a dress? Is my lady going to attend an event?" Ares asked.

"I'm not surprised that you don't know since you're a commoner," Alexandria replied mockingly. "Soon I will debut myself in the society, of course, I have to prepare a lot of dresses for my debutante," she continued.

Ares almost forgot about Alexandria's debutante where her true nature got exposed by the nobles. The debutante could be called the worse event in her life because that was how bad it was compared to the other things that happened in her life. He knew that already and because he had to go to war, he hadn't prepared everything at all to prevent her debutante as the turning point of her life as an evil lady.

Ares looked through the mirror and Alexandria was talking with the dressmaker, and by the look of it, she was already occupied with the fitting. Ares snapped his finger and then left without them noticing, he went to the other area of the capital city where the people spend their money for "Fun times".

Ares arrived at the place he wanted to be, he stood in front of a bar where mostly commoners spent their evening in. The Maroon Lagoon bar, the place he used to visit in his previous loops, he then entered the bar and went to the bartender behind the counter. The bartender looked at him with suspicion, especially when he saw the Valtris crest on his chest.

"What can I help you?" The bartender asked.

Ares looked at the bottles and the brands of the beverages on the walls, he looked at them one by one and he found what he want. "Oh, the Soviar Red Wine is available?" he asked.

The bartender started to get more suspicious of Ares but he then nodded. "Yes, it just came this morning," he answered.

The Soviar brand wasn't a real brand, it was the name of the owner of the pub, Soviar Baxter. Whoever asked about that brand in the bar, meaning they knew what they were asking about. It would be suspicious to a stranger who came in for the first time and asked about that brand the moment he entered the bar.

"I will have that one then," Ares said as he sat down at the counter and stared at the bartender.

"Alright..." The bartender said as he left the counter and walked to the door next to him.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Ares said then the bartender stopped walking and looked at Ares. "I want a whole bottle for myself," Ares continued.

"Boss, there's someone who wants to meet you," The bartender said as he stood in front of the door.

A messy black-haired man was sitting on the chair with his legs rested on top of the desk with his face covered with a book. "Can you tell whoever that is to not bother me at the moment? I'm having a hangover right now..." he quietly replied.

The bartender looked at him and cleared his throat. "He has a very deep pocket since he asked for a whole bottle," he said.

Soviar removed the book from his face and his bright yellow pupils glared at the bartender with a resting face. "Oh? You should have told me, tell him to come here then..." he replied.

Soviar is a man who would do anything for money and nothing could stop him from getting that money. His greed for money made him the one and only man who could be called capable of getting on whatever the clients needed from him. Even if he had nothing for the client, he would work it out and give satisfaction to the client the next day, that was how good he was and why he was very famous in the secret society.

The bartender nodded and left the room.

Ares waited and the bartender came back, he poured a glass of water and then slid it in front of Ares. "The wine is ready to serve," he said.

Ares nodded and drank the water and left the bar, he went to the back of the building and used the second entrance that was hidden from anyone. He knocked on the door three times and then two times, the bartender opened the door for him and let him in. Ares immediately went up the stairs without the bartender guiding him which was so confusing for the bartender to see him going up the stairs on his own. The bartender didn't follow him and went back to the bar and serve the customers.

Soviar was still trying to recover from the hangover he had from last night, and then he heard the door open. He barely opened his eyes and saw a knight with the Valtris crest on his chest, he immediately opened his eyes wide and looked at Ares in the face. He was a bit anxious when he saw a knight standing in front of his desk and was a bit angry with the bartender for not telling him about the guy's identity.

Ares squinted his eyes and smiled a bit. "You haven't changed at all, Soviar, you had a drink last night, didn't you?" he asked.

Soviar squinted his eyes and stared at Ares with suspicion, "Have we met each other?" he asked back.

"Well, it's a long story, but yes we have met each other before," Ares said as he sat down in front of the desk.

"My head is not in the right spot right now, so let's not start giving me puzzles in my head," Soviar said. "So, what do you want me to do?" he asked as he rested his head on his fist.

Ares grabbed the pouch on his waist and threw it on the desk, the moment it hit the table, Soviar could see golds coming out from the pouch and scattered on the table. Soviar eyes were wide open and he immediately grabbed them and looked at how weird the shape of the golds was but he knew they were all real golds because he had been dealing with them all his life.

"I need your help," Ares said.

Soviar smirked and put the golds back into the pouch then grabbed it. "Alright, whatever it is, I will help you out, Sir knight," he said with a huge grin on his face.
