The Gourmet Massacre

Touka

"Why stay in Japan? You could go somewhere with less of a CCG presence like rural China. There are more people, a lot of remote areas, and a very stable government, I was thinking about moving there myself." Touka caught herself listening to the conversation between crazy bitch san and the weirdo. He seemed to know they were ghouls, and no one cared. Normally any human who knew they were ghouls would be killed. No one made a move to get rid of him.

She noticed a few signs of inhumanity. He didn't order food and seemed to treat their manager's coffee with indifference. His scent was like a fragrant candle. By his smell she thought he'd taste similar to one.

"Wow you don't know what you're talking about at all. The CCG is worse in China, rural county or not." A ghoul from another table said. "Trust me more people more problems." Everyone in the Anteiku were on edge. This human didn't act like a human, didn't smell like a human, and had too much confidence for a human dealing with ghouls. Especially one dating crazy bitch san. Rize normally went for the timid bookish types.

The purple haired honey trap smiled pleasantly to the other patrons. She enjoyed the attention too much. It irked Touka to have to serve her. What irked her more was the human's response to the manager's coffee. She glared at him. "How do you like our coffee?"

"I have nothing to compare it to this is the first cup I've ever had. It's the first thing I've drank in months." Her eyes twitched. This guy was so blatantly supernatural it wasn't funny. She sucked in a breath and noticed he didn't breathe.

What are you? The question roared in her head as a blood vessel on her forehead pulsed from irritation. Bursting it wouldn't kill her, but it wouldn't be pleasant. The more she noticed the harder it pounded. Manager looked on with his grandfatherly smile, but his eyes were serious and calculating.

"So are there others like you?" One of the customers asked.

"Please don't be rude we only came here for coffee. And dibs on that book worm." Crazy bitch said. Touka dropped a cup in shock. "Oh, did you want him. I thought you Anteiku types were vegetarians." Rize said.

They needed every human customer they could get. Prepackaged sandwiches lined the walls ready to be eaten. She couldn't off load them on Yoriko again. Irimi joking accused her of fattening her friend up to be eaten. Touka stopped giving her friend free sandwiches after that.

Kaneki ate two sandwiches with his coffee three days a week and tipped her because he thought the American concept sounded cool. This was for the sake of Anteiku.

Her Kakugan flashed. "I suggest you leave him alone. He's a valued customer." Touka proclaimed.

Crazy bitch san's date picked up one of the sandwiches, took a bite, and put it back down. "If I'm around I'll keep an eye out for him." The odd one said and Rize looked ready to protest. Her date looked up and smiled. You had a whole butler six hours ago. Well you left the feet.

"How's the sandwich?" Crazy bitch sassed back. Touka heard other humans describe their food, especially Yoriko. None of them knew they were ghouls, so she paid closer attention to his response.

"You're not going to like my answer, are you sure you want to hear it?" Crazy bitch just stared. "Fine, it tastes like its missing something. It isn't disgusting, it doesn't make me sick, but it could never be satisfying." That wasn't what she wanted to hear.

Before anyone could say another word, the guy's phone vibrated. The guy pulled out his phone and sent a few messages. "Who are you chatting with, not another girl I hope?" Crazy bitch said.

"Yea, she's an investigator 3rd class with the CCG." Everyone froze at that. "They think a ghoul is behind Shiro's death." She didn't know a Shiro and neither did crazy bitch apparently. "I guess a gas explosion shooting him out a window wasn't believable. Forensics testing discovered that the glass fell first, followed by Shiro, and the explosion happened a few minutes later. Her boss believes it's a conspiracy." The guy rubbed at his youthful face annoyance shown in his face.

"Oh, you're talking about the corporate type." Touka didn't want to know about such a high-profile murder. She had no idea why they discussed it here. Were they conceited enough to believe they could do whatever they wanted and get away with it? Touka hoped Yoriko never came here while crazy bitch was around.

As if summoned the doorbell dinged and the scent of her friend filled the room. Touka cursed her luck. Crazy bitch's eyes locked onto her friend and Kaneki was quickly forgotten. At this point she wished Rize would focus back on him.

Jack

He ignored Yua's following texts. He silenced his phone when the vibrations didn't stop. After a moment, he remembered that Shiro was the one who paid the 3rd class investigator. He knew that feeding the bodies of Shiro's enemies to ghouls hadn't been the best plan. It got rid of the bodies and that was most important at the time. Apparently, the CCG opened a ghoul's stomach to look for fingerprints.

Rize gave some high school girl bedroom eyes. After a moment of looking around a picture began to form. This was a dominance thing between ghouls. Rize wanted to eat Yoriko just to be a bitch. Touka wanted to protect Yoriko because she allowed Touka to pretend to be human. If Yoriko vanished Touka would be on the suspect list. He caught Touka's eyes and winked at her.

Jack snatched Rize's hand in his. Her eyes widened as a smile broke out on his face. "I thought you wanted a date. Let's go have some fun." She pursed her lips and glanced at Yoriko. Nope! Jack pulled her up and began walking towards the door.

"You forgot to pay." A waitress said, Kaya by her nametag. He reached into his pocket searching for something to pay with. Normally, he used Shiro's company card, but the police would be looking for that. The last thing this little café needed was an investigation. Searching through his pockets he found two gold coins. With a shrug he tossed them on the table. The coins landed with a heavy thunk.

The waitress stared at the two coins in disbelief. "Sorry, its all I have on me right now." Jack said. Rize caught Kaya's expression and giggled as Jack pulled her out.

They made their way to the streets were crowds of people traveled to various shops. Rize lead the way a mischievous expression on her face. Something was up but he didn't have time think about it. His easy payment system was compromised.

Yua's bribes weren't being paid. Killing Yua would be a waste, she was open to bribes so long as they weren't from a ghoul. He just fed the bodies to ghouls because he thought it was funny. It was like a charity. Feeding them to the fishes seemed like a waste.

Jack preferred to be pragmatic with his resources. Corpses could be used for zombies, puppets, or crafting treasures but he needed a steady source of energy first. His farm here was about to hit stage 2. Once that happened, he'd have more spiritual energy than he knew what to do with. More than enough to make a world jump. From that point he could set up another farm. Two farms would greatly increase his cultivation. He'd just have to go back and forth between worlds and collect the energy.

Without a steady source of spiritual energy, he was trapped. Jack had been born powerful, but a lack of energy had forced him to cannibalize himself. He found his answer but had been forced to bide his time until he had enough energy built up to sew seeds in mass.

For now, he needed to be careful. His plans were close to fruition, but a spanner could always appear. Jack had studied this extensively, every time a young entrepreneur closed in on a breakthrough a terrorist appeared and ruined their shit. Rings get tossed into volcanoes, soul anchors get destroyed, and dragon balls have passwords. Its when victory is closest at hand when he must be at his most vigil.

"Ok, I may have burned this bridge, but I know a place that serves meals for ghouls on a plate. My in guy is a little gay and he might want to make a meal out of you." I blinked back to reality.

We stood in front of the gate to a massive estate. Giant iron gates opened in front of us as a butler welcomed us. Jack relaxed a little bit confident that as long as there wasn't a human extinction even his plans would eventually come to pass.

Tsukiyama

A vindictive smile spread across his face. He was quite pleased with himself. Sure, Rize had spurned his good will at first. But clearly, she needed time. The fact she brought such an interesting smelling venue to him spoke volumes. It was clearly an apology and one he would graciously accept. The specimen she brought smelled of crisp leaves and heavenly lavender. Not quite food as most humans but that just intrigued him more. This was something new, a delicacy and one he'd reluctantly share with his guests. Without him, she'd never prepare him properly, perhaps this was a dinner date. Butchering him at the estate wasn't allowed but he could use the restaurant for dinner.

Soon after they retired to his private study the insolent morsel badgered him with a question. "Does your restaurant have a dress code?" His restaurant, an interesting way to put it. No, the Tsukiyama family didn't own a restaurant.

The suite worn by Jack Kuro was a black tweed monstrosity. It might have been fashionable when his father was his age. A small smirk spread across his face. It wasn't too long ago that when a peasant attempted to immolate a noble dress they were executed. This delicacy made it apparent why the rabble weren't allowed to dress as their betters. Sadly, Tsukiyama had better dress sense in his formative years.

"Yes, but do not worry, I will have something prepared for you." Tsukiyama said.

Rize slammed her hand on the ground. "I don't care about the fancy clothes. Am I allowed to bring my own plate, what is the portion limit, and what is the fat ratio?" She pointed at him dangerously. "These are the things I need to know Tsukiyama." Rize growled.

He narrowed his eyes. She wasn't slick as she pretended. All this aggression was to take advantage of the portions. Rize had brought this delicacy, that should be considered, she'd get the largest piece, but everyone would want a bite. Something that smelled so different must be tried.

The delicacy reached out and grasped Rise's hand. Tsukiyama gasped when the meal wasn't slain on the spot. Rize wasn't known to be the most levelheaded individual especially when a meal was on the line. He reasoned that this level headedness came from the rarity of her discovery. Yes, that's why she was here and trusted him most of all. It was his duty to ensure the preparations are perfect.

Yua

She continued texted the man she was certain was either the Christian Devil or at least a demon. When Yua was at her lowest he appeared like an avenging angel. The ghouls died their kagune cut apart and their bodies sliced to ribbons until not even ghoul physiology could heal them. She was certain he either didn't know about a ghoul's kakuhou or didn't care. At the time she hadn't cared. He offered her a job that paid her, and she texted him about her investigations. Most of what she texted him was public record anyway.

Nothing seemed to come of it until the wedding ring was found in the stomach of a ghoul. She was the wife of a Taki Shiro. Formerly a board member of Jackal, a corporation that manufactures one of the chemicals needed to maintain quinques, the weapons of ghoul investigators. Before her death she'd divorced him and reportedly hooked up with a now deceased member of Jackal's board of directors. It wasn't a coincidence.

Then Shiro died and forensics declared it murder due to a stab wound unlike anything the CCG has on file. If that wasn't bad enough Shiro signed her paychecks. She still sent the information expecting a new payment schedule. Instead, she was blocked like a stalker girlfriend.

She was left with one less source of income in an extremely dangerous job. Before she had her dangerous boss to fall back on. It was strange, her dangerous boss made her feel secure. She felt a little silly thinking he'd fly in to save her if things got too hectic. But no, he wasn't texting her back.

Then she got a reply. "I'm on a date." The fuck!

"What are you doing miss Sato? You won't make second class if you're always on your phone." She shrank back in her chair. Great! Mado was here. Why was that crazy old bastard on the prowl?

"I'm sorry sir my boyfriend is in poor health." Yua said hoping to get a little sympathy.

"Then you should dump him before he becomes a weight to drag you down. If his poor health keeps you from working, then cut him loose." Mado said.

"If only it were that easy. There aren't any men like him." She said. Then her phone buzzed. Mado looked over and cackled.

"I heard Kuro cut you loose and I understand how that feels. We used to be friends Kuro and I. You aren't the first one to be tossed aside so callously. Let me help you back to your feet. My name is Ebenezer and I think you could use a new patron. Why don't you come have dinner with me?" Yua read and reread the message. An address was in the text.

"Oh, a love triangle. Those are always fun." Mado said. Yua sighed.

"Mr. Mado can I help you?" That was the nicest way she could tell a superior to fuck off. The squinting man smiled and placed a file on her desk.

"I think we're about to get a lead on a very big fish. Cross-examine these physicians, I believe one of them is a ghoul." Yua accepted the extra work graciously. She'd need some coffee, it was going to be a long night.

Jack

Jack texted while he could. One of the ghouls under Tsukiyama's employ touched up his hair while another took his measurements and weighed him. They kept checking frowning at his body fat percentage. His suite waited for him. The music was on full blast to hide the screaming on the stage. It was nice that they cared. When the French rap artist swapped to English to say fuck the police, it made him want to laugh. He made it a point to send a few texts to Yua to assure her that he'd continue paying her.

The screaming was beginning to die down and the ladies moved a bit faster. His numbers were taken, and they helped him into his suit. A steaming drink was soon offered to him on a serving tray. It steamed up and smelled coffee.

"It's a pallet cleanser." One of the girls said.

Another message from Yua distracted him, she'd been rather insistent about remaining in his employ. The only problem was paying her. He didn't have a way to launder money but that might not be such a problem. Tsukiyama was rich, perhaps he could help Jack launder some liquid assets. It didn't sit right with him to just cut off a successful spy like Yua. So, he gave her all the assurances he could and told her he was busy with a ghoul restraint. His phone buzzed nearly a hundred times in ten seconds.

Jack sighed and tossed it to one of the girls. "Store it in a locker or something, I can't have it buzzing all night."

The butler held the offered tray still. "Sir," Jack raised his hand.

"No," Jack said. The butler opened his mouth and closed it. The ground began to shake before hydraulics lifted him and a trapdoor opened in the ceiling. Jack turned towards the stands as the sensation of the black brushed his senses. One of his crops was here. Why?

Tsukiyama

Tsukiyama stared at Rize while their meal rose dressed finally in proper garnishing. Rize had seated herself near the front. She'd gone to the trouble of keeping a seat empty for him. Regrettable he'd taken the lead no one else could call the crowds favor like he could. There were more dismantling shows tonight. If only she hadn't demanded her dauntingly large serving tray. It disrupted her image as a member of this establishment.

Still, she had gone through the trouble of saving a seat for him. One shouldn't leave such a young lady waiting long. Never before had his illustrious position chaffed at him. Duty and pleasure would always be at odds in his life. A smile brightened his aristocratic features to their highest luminescence as he prepared to announce this delicacy.

The delicacy looked clueless but not afraid. A confidence fit for Golic gladiator of old radiated from him as he stepped off the platform. If his goal was to search for Rize he should turn around. Still, Tsukiyama liked him more than the last embarrassment. That one needed to be bathed repeatedly after the dismantling. This was a reputable establishment after all.

One of his servants discreetly caught his attention with a note in hand. "Master Shuu, he refused the coffee." Tsukiyama smiled. It was concerning but he wasn't worried. Oh, the delicacy would die like any human in the dismantling show.

Hopefully, this one wouldn't foul himself like the last one. Not for the first time he thought about adding a step in their preparations. A couple days on a forced liquid diet would do wonders. But there wasn't a way to organically facilitate it. Most took their enjoyment from the first few minutes of surprise.

Suddenly, a powerful grip took hold of his shoulder. He turned his gaze to meet the crimson kakugan of Rize. "Why is my date down there, I didn't bring him here to be eaten?" Tsukiyama's mind froze.

"He has such a unique scent, you listed him as your plus one and ordered your portion size. It was concerning that he listened to you ranting about cuts, portion sizes, and fat content without reacting. Was I supposed to supply the meal?" Rize dared to look down her nose at him.

"I gave this place another chance. Why else would I save a seat?" Rize asked.

Not for him. That was apparent. Curiosity aside the delicacy smelled more like a scented candle than food. He wasn't such a simpleton as to partake in something that merely smelled pleasant. But it was too late the crowd's energy was up from their last fight. This one clearly wasn't in the mood run away despite the gore in the arena.

"Have faith he wasn't drugged. If any human has a chance to win it is him." Tsukiyama said. Rize had the nerve to roll her eyes.

Jack

He doubted they were here for him. Jack certainly didn't broadcast his presence. Keeping his aura suppressed made him unpredictable. His crops rarely pursued stealth. Most bumbled about in their pursuits until they inevitably burned out.

Burn out was a hard thing to get past. Most chose to pursue multiple different avenues to avoid burnout. Ebenezer was a good example of that. He started out training his bodily power, moved on to zombies, then wards, and settled into alchemy. Jack recalled the man also collected ancient Egyptian artefacts as well. Those who survived pursued multiple avenues lasted the longest. They could give him a fight if they grouped together. Jack preferred if that didn't happen.

There were groups lead by some ambitious characters. Jack had planted many seeds. One rule always applied. If they stopped advancing in any direction, then it was harvest time. Thus far if one of his crops wasn't on the menu they didn't get involved.

Ebenezer could probably find him and had the resources to bribe some other crops to work together for an assassination attempt. Jack looked around as the source of the black moved. The crowd began to cheer as an iron gate in front of him opened.

"Today we have a special treat. He's a human that doesn't smell like food." Jack felt his eyes twitch. So that's how it was. "Will he be able to fend off Mandam A's scrapper or will he be dismantled like the rest." The crowd cheered as a scrawny man with twin blades charged out of a gate.

Jack crossed his arms and focused his attention on the stands. Even connected to him the sensation of the black was elusive.

Blades flashed and slashed at his body. Jack let the blade connect. Black tendrils lashed out from his aura bisecting the aggressor's legs at the knees and shoulders. For a moment the entire crowd stood went silent. Jack continued to search until he found the zombie.

Its eyes held an inhuman intelligence matched by an undead body. Like many in attendance it dressed in the finest cloths and wore a mask. Only it was easily twice the size of the ghouls around it. By all outward appearances it looked like a semi braindead ghoul here for a show. To find out more Jack needed to use his qi sense.

More undead qi flowed through its body than should be possible. More surprising was the potency of the lightning qi. Lightning qi in the body of a corpse meant it wasn't the average zombie. This creature was a Frankenstein. The necromancer who made it also cultivated lightning for the creation of this creature. Using ghoul parts ensured the creation was sturdier than even the average Frankenstein. It wasn't bad work the undead was probably intelligent.

A Frankenstein took Ebenezer out off his suspect list for the creature's creator and put him on the suspect list for revolutionary. What was Peter's German ass doing here? Sure, Japan had a lot of ghouls per capita but getting enough to form a Frankenstein or ten shouldn't be difficult. Ghouls had no rights; investigators could kill them on the spot. Why would Peter Housing come here just to cause Jack trouble.

Remembering Peter brought a curious blonde-haired and blue-eyed boy to mind. He wanted to have adventures, see the sights around the world, and make Frankensteins. Of all Jack's crops Peter was the least likely to be harvested. Even now Jack felt a steady influx of spiritual energy from his connection to Peter.

The Frankenstein supplied him with the barest amount of spiritual energy just by existing. For a time, Jack helped Peter grow from shocking himself with batteries to waving a lightning rod overhead during thunderstorms. The cultivation of lightning had been a dangerous process.

Flashback!

Thunder rumbled as a massive cumulonimbus filled the sky. The air was hot and humid but not a drop of rain fell yet. Peter stared at me terror in his eyes. His blond hair stood on end and his body was covered with copper wiring. A long metal pole held him in place.

"Are you sure there isn't another step. We could try multiple care batteries." Peter reasoned.

"Don't be a bitch you're ready for this. Look at that lightning. I'm so jealous you're going to get strong." A grin broke out over Jacks face as he backed. After putting up a powerful barrier he was ready to observe. "Don't worry I'm here for you." Jack said as he ducked behind a good-sized boulder.

Jack leaned against the boulder and took out his Gameboy as lighting crashed down. There was a lot of lightning that night but not a bolt struck Peter. A day later they hooked a few car batteries together and shocked him.

Flashback end

The creature stood up and walked down the steps to the edge of the guard rail. "Greetings lord of lords, giver of gifts, and the dark lord Kuro, I've come to give you a declaration." Rinkaku burst from its back blasting lightning from tentacle to tentacle. "The weight of your tyranny can no longer be tolerated. You have given gifts and reaped rewards from the lords under you. Without a trial or consideration for their services rendered many lords have been executed by your hands. We the people of the federation of the black will not tolerate your injustice. In short this is our declaration of independence."

"Denied." Jack declared.

"Then we will make it impossible for you to continue. Any new lords will be hunted down and destroyed. Your livelihood shall be burned, all your allies will be scattered to the four winds, and you will face annihilation." Whispers traveled through the crowd discussing what this could mean.

"Did Ebenezer put you up to this Peter? How did he fall into a bad crowd?" Jack asked.

Instead of answering the Frankenstein attacked the nearest ghoul. It ripped into her chest and tore free her kakuhou. The small sac like organ that stored RC cells and gave ghouls their abilities was assimilated. Black tendrils quickly pulled the organ into the Frankenstein's skin. Soon a half formed black Ukaku sprouted from the creature's back. Black tendrils of formed a crystalline wing before blasting the crowd with shards. It roared as it turned on the panicking residents.

He almost didn't want to kill it. With every ghoul it slaughtered, it increased its output of spiritual energy. Jack had been so busy with farming people that he never tried undead. Sure, one Frankenstein didn't give much but a few hundred or a thousand could make a difference. It was something to think about for the future.

Rize zoomed across the room and slammed it with her kagune. Six red tentacles wrapped around each other before slamming hard into the creature. "You owe me a meal and another date." Rize said.

"I didn't expect an open rebellion." Two more Frankensteins burst into the crowd. Killing them would actually set me back depending on how many I had to put down. An early harvest was just a waste.

Tendrils from the Frankenstein shot onto the ground as the creature lifted itself. They shot out into the fleeing ghouls before dragging them kicking and screaming to its body. Assimilation of the flesh wasn't something many necromancers could do. This wasn't a skill Peter should have.

Jack pushed more aura into his shadow control. Black tendrils shot out from the shadows around the creature binding it. Clasping both hands together, he slowly pulled them apart and the shadows pulled too. The creature cried out as its flesh was pulled by the shadows themselves.

"The lords will stop you. You will never win." Jack pulled his hands apart and the Frankenstein ripped to pieces.

"Sheep bleat loudly but walk to the slaughter all the same. What hope does a flock of rebellious sheep have against their shepherd?" Jack said.

"Even if our chances are narrow, there are more of us than there are of you." One of the Frankenstein's said in Peter's voice. Though the accent was more British than German.

Sudden weakness flooded his veins. Even using this much power taxed him. It took too much spiritual energy to keep himself going. Jack spread his seeds and used the residents of this planet to use a loophole.

Jack wasn't of this world and using spells taxed him more than it would a proper residence of this universe. He had long since concluded it was a Gaia situation. The world itself fought against his abilities. His crops were different. They could use their power and the world filled them with spiritual energy. Their connection to this world may have something to do with this rebellion.

"Is this your Boston massacre?" Jack asked with a knowing smile.

The Frankenstein took a step back." Jack laughed; Peter was always a funny guy. Even using a proxy vessel Peter was too chicken shit to fight him. Black tendrils leapt from the shadows and latched onto the other two Frankenstein. Lightning shot across the room, but the shadows regrouped before the Frankensteins could break free.

"Rebel if you want to. Its fine my plan is robust enough to handle it. Even if all my crops turn out to be weeds, I can always till and replant. There are plenty of fertile fields." Jack said.

"So long as there are fields, you'd be right. We don't need other fields you do." Peter said. Shit, if they found a way to subsist solely on spiritual energy, they might choose a more ruthless path of rebellion. Scorched Earth might mean to burn the earth to ash and genocide the human race.

"I knew Germany would try to conquer the world again." Jack sniped back hoping to play on stereotypes before pulling his hands apart. Either way, he couldn't afford to leave any of Peter's Frankensteins usable. Lightning spews out of the bodies as they were torn apart. For Jack, the shadows did the work of four horses galloping in separate directions.

"Did that guy just say he was going to wipe out the humanity?" Rize said. I nodded and chose a wall to slump against. Despite my growing spiritual reserves, I couldn't use many spells. Flying was fine especially at night.

Still, some ideas came to mind. Zombies produced spiritual energy that he could use. There were spells he could use to mold dead flesh. Creating an army of zombies would take up too much space. Zombies needed some life to feed from to function. Most stored the energy and used it sparingly. Well, he needed a proof of concept before he went crazy. A scale model was ideal.

….

By the time Rize dragged him to her apartment he'd regained most of his energy. Breakthroughs happened all the time and filled him with spiritual energy. That came with a large crop. Unfortunately, they may be all weeds. That was a troubling through. He still gained spiritual energy from them due to the very power they used. It could take a generation before they learned enough about spiritual energy to move away from being seeded.

Rize busied herself changing out of her lovely dress while Jack rested. "Did you at least have fun?" Jack asked. Rize paused for a moment.

"The entertainment was good but what kind of restaurant doesn't have food. What good is an extra-large plate when its empty?" Rize shook her head. "How are you handling your food rebelling?" Rize asked.

Jack stood up and stumbled over to sit beside her. He leaned against her and sighed. "I knew it would happen, even sheep can ram their shepherd's leg." She flicked his nose. Jack fell back on the bed and sighed.

Rize tossed her purple hair back and crawled on top of him. "Enough with the analogues what do you feel?"

"I want to rip them apart, burn their strongholds, and take their fortunes for my own. When they were weak, I gave them power. They repaid me with rebellion. Each of them owes me a karmic debt. The karma I sowed must be reaped." Jack said the words and felt them more than ever. He'd allowed them to appease him with dividends, they pissed on his mercy. "Lamb is preferrable to the mutton I'm stuck with." Jack said.

Rize groaned. "That one was terrible." He looked up at her. The deep cherry red lipstick hadn't smeared during the fight. She still looked just as fresh as when they met the night before. Why did it feel like it had been weeks ago?

"Rize," she placed a finger on his lips. Her breath tickled his ears as she spoke to him.

"This is the part where I eat pretty boys like you." He reached out and grabbed her ass. Rize let out a squeak as he rolled her over. We stared into each other's eyes for a few minutes. Then her kakugan activated. "Ghoul and human relationships always end in tragedy. I've never heard of an exception."

Jack turned his head and thought about it for a second. "If there are successes then they probably don't advertise it. Love is rarely a story unless it's a tragedy."
