Chapter 198: Battlefield Rose

"Aaaaahhhhh!!!!"

The battlefield echoed with deafening cries, and the once pristine ice surface was now stained with filth and blood. Rodney descended to the ground, and his earlier words had already offended a group of pirates who wasted no time in coming after him.

"You brat! Pay for your arrogance!"

"Take a good look; this is the Whitebeard Pirates!"

"Attack!!!"

A group of pirates charged towards him, and Rodney chuckled, "Is this the grandeur of the Whitebeard Pirates? A righteous gang fight? What a laughable joke! Raiton: Kuroshi!" 

Black lightning formed a lightning panther that silently roared, instantly knocking down the pirates in front of him. Each of them emitted a charred smell after being struck by the electric bolts.

The system's notification sounded, and Rodney smirked. His ten fingers interlocked, and a dazzling lightning shone over his hands. 

"Let's try this one. Raiton: Jūnan na Kaminari!"

A pale blue halo appeared over his hands, and countless lasers emerged!

Ranton combined the uncontrollable fury of lightning with the soft and controllable nature of water, creating "electrified water" or "flexible lightning." Combining the characteristics of both, it was fast, powerful, and could be freely controlled in direction!

The lasers, as if they had eyes, effortlessly avoided the Marines and knocked down the pirates they engaged. Some pirates who wanted to chase the fleeing Marines ended up getting hit. To this, Rodney could only say that it was their own bad luck!

"Is this... Rodney's ability, the Magician?"

"The name suits him well!"

"A formidable opponent! I wish he were on our side!"

"Damn! Let's kill him first! I don't believe one man can take on so many of us!"

The pirates were not convinced and rushed towards Rodney. He decided not to use Ranton this time. Instead, three blazing fireballs appeared around him, hovering and spinning.

"Fire Release: Goshōsatsu!"

The fireballs flew out and encircled a pirate.

"What... what is this? Wait, this feeling is... aaaaaahhhh!" 

The moisture in the pirate's body was evaporated by the scorching fireballs. In no time, he turned into a dried-up corpse and fell to the ground.

"Well, not bad." 

Rodney crossed his arms, chuckled, and looked at the approaching pirates. He placed his hand on the hilt of Aisu but then released it. 

"My body hasn't been active for a while; it's almost rusty."

Boom!

Charging forward like a rampaging dinosaur, he plowed through the group of pirates.

Just his powerful body crashing into them sent many pirates flying, not to mention his expert martial skills.

Most pirates had combat talents but rarely trained systematically in martial arts. Except for the Marines, Cipher Pol, and Fish-Man Tribe, most pirates relied on their combat talent and personal strength. These individuals often had strong combat talents but rarely trained themselves.

Most of them improved through victories, and if they lost, they died. That was how it worked. So, when faced with Rodney, who had exceptional physical strength and combat skills, he overwhelmed them.

He moved left and right among the pirates like a butterfly gracefully dancing in a ballroom, with a beautiful, graceful, and deadly dance, just like a rose blossoming on the battlefield.

He took a pirate's sword and ruthlessly thrust it into the pirate's heart, taking his life. He punched another pirate in the head, sending him crashing into the hard ice.

A group of pirates raised their firearms and opened fire from a distance.

He effortlessly grabbed a pirate, using him as a shield and attaching an exploding tag to him before tossing him forward.

The pirate exploded suddenly, taking the lives of many others with him.

He then grabbed a sword and leaped, landing on a pirate's shoulder. The sword pierced through the pirate's shoulder and into his heart.

The pirate fell, and Rodney followed, landing on the ground. Another pirate seized the opportunity and raised his battle axe, trying to strike Rodney down.

Rodney raised his head, and their eyes met. The pirate froze at that moment, unable to move.

"Turn around and kill them!"

Following Rodney's command, the pirate, with a lifeless gaze, turned around and attacked his former comrades without hesitation.

"Why? We were your comrades! Aaaahhhh!"

"Don't! Captain! What are you doing, Captain!"

"Stop it! Yami-lo!!!"

The pirates were attacked without consciousness, even if they were injured. In the end, they could only be killed by their own comrades, ending their lives.

Rodney's massacre continued, and as he was about to stab a pirate with the sword he had taken, a man as fierce as a locomotive charged in.

His body emitted a flash of lightning, and his arms were wrapped in Haki. A long trace was left on the ice surface due to their contest of strength.

"Diamond Jozu!"

With a somewhat bloodthirsty smile, Jozu felt that the man in front of him was getting stronger and stronger, seemingly preparing for a direct confrontation.

"I won't let you hurt them again!" 

Jozu said, flexing his muscles, trying to overpower Rodney. However, Rodney seemed as unmovable as if he were rooted in the ice, and the ice beneath them started to crack due to their struggle.

"If you want me to spare them, then you also need to show your strength, Jozu!" 

With the Lightning Armor still wrapped around him, he had no hesitation in using his raw strength!

Under the combination of both, his strength reached a terrifying level.

With both arms suddenly grabbed, Jozu's eyes widened in alarm. It was too late to react. Rodney effortlessly lifted him up. "Raimei Bakudan!!!"

Jozu's body was smashed down by Rodney, and an electric shock spread out, affecting the surrounding pirates and some Marines as well. The sheer force shattered the ice beneath them, creating a large crack, and Jozu, with his diamond-hard body, helplessly fell into the sea.

Devil Fruit users lose their powers upon contact with seawater. While they could still use their abilities, they needed to breathe, and without strength, sinking became inevitable. Jozu's diamond body was exceptionally heavy, and he plunged toward the depths of the ocean.

"Captain Jozu!"

Several pirates immediately jumped in after him. Rodney didn't stop them. Instead, after exchanging a glance with Whitebeard, he reentered the battle.

"Cough, cough, cough!" 

With the rescue of a few comrades, Jozu resurfaced, spitting out seawater and regaining his composure. He said, "Captain-level individuals should deal with Rodney. The rest of you, don't throw your lives away!"

Rodney's strength was too terrifying, and there were few who could match him among the pirates. If they weren't

 at the level of a captain, it was better not to intervene because this guy was too dangerous.

"Fire Release: Great Dragon Fire Technique!"

A dragon-headed fireball was expelled from his mouth, easily incinerating a group of pirates into charred corpses.

With shurikens tied to steel wires and explosive tags attached, Rodney weaved through the crowd, detonating them one by one.

Ninjutsu was most potent on the battlefield, and it was where it could be unleashed to its fullest potential. If it weren't for the presence of the Marines, Rodney could have single-handedly wiped out all these pirates!

Captain-level individuals would require some effort, but aside from Marco and Jozu, the others were still within his kill range.

"Rodney, look out!"

A captain wielding a massive hammer charged at him from somewhere, swinging the colossal weapon at him.

Rodney raised his Flame Fan and blocked the heavy blow with his hand. He softly said, "Uchiha Return!"

Boom!

The impact was absorbed and converted into a powerful wind-style chakra, blowing the hammer-wielding man away, along with the pirates in their path.
