Chapter 1: Instant Family

Valerie, that is her given name. She was born in the Blue Star in the era of prosperity. Life was dull for her. She was only driven by my career as a businesswoman. To make money, that was all her purpose in life. Perphaps, it stemmed from her childhood. She grew up in poverty, after all. Raised by a single mother, who was abandoned by her husband after those years they supported each other. Her mother struggled to provide for the both of them. She had multiple jobs and was only rewarded with meager salary. Valerie disdain to be poor. She worked harder than most people. Got a job at 15 and didn't stop working since.

Perhaps the world pittied her. She was given the opportunity to make money from selling houses. Using the money she earned, she started her business. She entered the world of real estate. She built apartments to houses and eventually condos and villas. At the age of 50, she was already a very successful woman. She was able to give her mother a good life before she died, and she was able to prove herself to the world that she is capable.

Eventually, she retired, moved away from the city, and lived in a villa in the outskirts of town. She started various hobbies and enriched her life. Valerie did not marry nor had any children. She was scarred by her father's abandonment and was only filled with the thoughts of refusing to be poor. She did not regret her decision at all. Not even when she was in her deathbed bed. She made a will, and all of her money was donated to various orphanages and support programs for single mothers. She had lived a full filled life. And she left Blue Star with a satisfaction.

______________

The bright light coming from the sun assaulted Valerie's eyes. Her eyes squinted in annoyance. She opened her eyes and waited for her vision to clear. But what she saw was an unfamiliar ceiling. She blinked several times. Suddenly, she sat up.

'Didn't I die?'

Her eyes wondered around. The design of the room is very luxurious. It seemed to have a theme from the Victorian era of the Blue Star. This made her more skeptical. She never had any hobbies in regard to this, so she is sure that she's not on her own property.

"Hmm.." Suddenly, Valerie heard a moan. She was then horrified and turned her head to the other side of the bed. What emerged was a man rubbing his eyes. His skin kissed by the sun and his long hair draped on his body like silk. His feautures are soft, and his body is nicely built with leanness in it.

No matter how good-looking the man is, Valerie screamed internally, horrified. She never had any relationships with men. Now she finds herself on a bed with a man.

The man sat up, and the satin robe he was wearing slipped from his shoulder and low and behold, full of marks from a passionate night. Valerie's soul seemed hanging out of her body. She didn't know what to say or do.

The man then turned towards her and said, "Wife, good morning." His voice raspy and pleasant to the ears. Valerie's face burned, and she opened her mouth like a fish in the water.
