Discovery.

Gwen turned In her sleep and frowned when she felt a hand holding her down. She slowly opened her eyes and saw that Alec was sleeping next to her. She smiled. She smiled at the thought of waking up like this every morning. She touched his lips and she wanted to taste them but she stopped herself. She tactfully removed herself from his killer grip and sat up. Her body was still hurting and her neck was killing her.

Marylynne had given her some pretty strong pain killers which managed to put her to sleep but didn't do much about the pain. She decided to take a walk around the house to stretch her muscles and to think about what to do about Louis.

She kissed Alec softly before leaving.

" My fiancé. " She giggled kiddishly.

She'd walked for what seemed like ages. She'd checked on her mom and Louis' rooms. Mom was okay but Louis wasn't home yet. She sighed and sat in the living room waiting for him. It was 4 In the morning and there was no sign of him. She was angry at first but then she started to worry. What if he was in trouble?

She didn't realise when she started to doze off. Her eyes were shutting when she heard the backdoor open. She immediately alerted herself and went to see who it was. She had her gun fully loaded.

" Wow! Why are you up this late? You freaked me out. " Louis was speaking gibberish. He was drunk.

Gwen rolled her eyes. He looked ridiculous. His eyes could barely stay open and he reeked of alcohol .

" Where have you been?" She placed her fun on the island.

" Why do you walk around with that?" Louis laughed as he sat on own of the kitchen stools. " Oh ! I forgot. You're big bad Gwen. The gang lord."

He was being an ass. Gwen pulled him by the collar and made him stand.

" Let me go Gwen. " He held her hand but she didn't budge.

" You're turning out to be a disappointment Louis. I thought I'd warned you before not to get into the drug world. I told you to stay away. Study , work hard, become somebody mom and dad would be proud of."

" Stop lecturing me. " He scoffed.

" God damn you Louis. " She threw him to the floor and stood over him. " I'll die before letting you ruin our lives again. "

She shook her head at him pitifuly and walked away. He stayed on the floor and watched her go up the stairs.

" It's you who's ruining us. " He chuckled before letting himself lie on the floor.

Alec stroked her hair as she slept. It was coming to 10 but she showed no sign of waking up. She must be tired. She slept like a child in his arms.

" Beautiful..."Alec kissed her neck delicately. Gwen smiled and yawned.

" Excuse me mister , but I think you are taking advantage of a young beautiful damsel in her sleep. "

" Where is this young beautiful damsel?" Alec looked around the room. " It's only me and you here. "

" Alec!" Gwen pushed him. " Are you trying to say I'm not beautiful?"

He held her waist and kissed her neck. "You are the most beautiful woman I've ever been graced to lay my eyes upon."

" Really?"

" Really. "He kissed her ear. " Now, you have to get out of bed. I made you breakfast 2 hours ago. "

" No! I want to stay here snuggling with you longer. " She wrapped herself around him.

" I'm sorry , but not today. I have to get you to the hospital. You need proper medical attention. " He frowned when he thought about her injuries.

" I'm okay , Alec. How many times do I have to tell you ?"

" I still won't buy it. "

Gwen's face was stuffed and Alec kept shoving more food into her mouth. She felt like she would explode.

" Alec..." She spread her hands over her mouth as a protective barrier. This man wanted her dead! " I'm full...please..."

" Just three more. "

" No! " She swallowed and fled from him.

" Fine. " He laughed. " You're so adorable. " He pinched her nose.

" Let's head out. " Gwen tossed his coat to him as she wore hers.

They'd driven down a few blocks when Gwen caught a glimpse of Louis. This was her chance. She glanced at Alec before asking him to stop the car.

" What's the matter?" He looked worried.

" I...forgot about something urgent I have to do with Alison. " She raised her brows as she thought about how to come up with a convincing lie.

" Well , I bet it can wait till we're back from the hospital, right?

" No! " She smiled. " It's extremely urgent. " She unstrapped her seatbelt.

" Then I'll drop you. "

" No need, I'll manage. " She opened the door and got out. " I'll be fine Alec. I promise."

Louis walked down a shaddy alley and Gwen followed. She kept her distance since she didn't want to be spotted. She looked around.

It was filthy and covered with street art. Curious eyes followed her as she strolled around but she had to stand her ground. She had faith in her gun.

It was a long while before random gunshots were fired and dozens of people came out running. There was chaos.

Gwen waited till the crowd lessened to approach the scene. There was a dark old shack at the end of the alley. She noticed some people run out of it.

She held her gun tight and she steadied her footsteps. There were about six to eight bodies sprawled on the floor. It was daytime , but the inside was very dark . There was music playing and faint lights danced on the stained walls.

Gwen made sure she wasn't attracting any attention.

" Speak up!"

She heard noises coming from a corner. She followed them only to find Louis and five others lined up with their hands behind their heads.

" Your boss sent you to kill me, right?" A tall dark haired man spoke with a gun in his hand. He pointed it to one of the boys and cursed. " Well , I'm gonna send him a message. All your dead bodies."

His gun moved from the first boy to the last.

" Who should I start with?"

Gwen held her breath. Louis was in serious shit. She said a silent prayer as she watched. All these boys seemed to be nothing more than teenagers.

His gun stopped on Louis and a devilish smirk morphed onto his face.

" Gooodbye-" Before he could finish, Gwen pulled her trigger and he came tumbling down in pain. She shot his hand.

" What the fuck?" He yelled as he waved his men to go check out who'd fired the shot. He had about seven men in total.

Gwen couldn't let them find her. She had the element of surprise and she couldn't let herself lose it. She took aim and opened fire on them. In all the confusion , the boys managed to scatter and escape. Gwen squinted through the mess . She was looking for Louis.

She was surprised to find him standing over the tall dark haired man with a gun in his hand.

" Now I'm gonna end you. " He spoke with clenched teeth. Gwen couldn't recognize her brother. He was different.

" Hey! " She slapped him across the face. " What the hell are you doing?"

Louis held his cheek. He was shocked that she was here. Did she just save them?

" Leave ! Leave now!" She pushed him.

" Get out now!"

" No !" He was hesitant but his ego was big. He had to prove himself. " I'm not leaving."

Gwen held him by the shoulder and pushed him. He was wasting alot of time and she was sure this guy had backup. They had to get out of here.

" Get them!" Five more men came running in. Gwen shielded Louis and opened fire. She pulled him behind a sofa and they took cover. Her bullets were done.

She was at a dead end.

" Come out bitches!" The dark haired man laughed as he was helped up. " You should have left when you had the chance. Now you'll die miserably. "

Gwen scanned the area for an exit. She had to get Louis out.

She spotted a window at the back. If she could distract them , Louis could have a way out.

" Louis , when I run , you make it for that window. " She pointed.

" I'm not leaving you behind like some coward! " He shook her off. He was scared.

" Well you got us into this in the first place!" She palmed his face in between her hands. " Run for it...please."

" I...I can't...I can't leave you sis..." He held her hands and his voice broke.

" You have to. " She was stern. " You must. "

She was about to stand when a flurry of bullets came raining in. Louis and her took cover.

Then there was silence thereafter. Gwen slowly peeped to see what had raised the havoc.

" Gwen!"

She thought she'd heard Alec's voice. She didn't respond.

" Gwen!" His voice was nearer this time.

" Alec?" She slowly rose only to find Alec and Derrick standing before the sofa. All the other men groaned in pain and were soaked in blood.

" Are you alright?" Alec yanked her into his arms and kissed her senseless. She held him with all her might. She thought she'd end up dying just after asking Alec to marry her. She clung onto him and she didn't even realize that she was crying.

" It's okay. I'm here. " He squeezed her tight and she melted in his arms.

She didn't know why she was so emotional lately. She quietly sobbed in his chest.

"Alec..." She tried to speak but her words weren't coming out. Her head started to spin and soon darkness followed.

" Gwen!"
