The expanse of land around the Litharion Estate was covered with untouched snow from a storm that swept through while they were at the banquet. It was the largest house in the central village they lived in because Lord Arthur was the town's reeve and often held meetings in his home.
Unlike the edges of Chemois which were covered in mountains, hills, and forests, the place they lived in was in a wide open plane where the blue sky seemed never ending and a large river flowed through the village, cutting it in half.
However, with the river came the occasional flood but the people were always thankful for the water to swim in or the fish to feed themselves with since it was slow moving anyway.
As the wagon they rode in slowed down, Irene peeked out the window and took in the sight before her. She had been missing home, even though her judgmental mother was part of that home. Regardless, she was excited to see her brother.
