What're You Doing Here?

Giving Vivian a sidelong glance, Leon slightly shook his head and asked the man. "Who sent you?"

"I–"

Before the man could finish his sentence, Leon interrupted him by saying. "I will advise you to tell the truth. My partner here wouldn't hesitate to end your life if you lie."

Slightly trembling where he stood, the man felt a shiver run down his spine when he subconsciously looked at Vivian and saw the harmless smile on her pretty face.

Anyone who saw her smile would think that she was an angel as it made her look even more pretty but to the man, it was that of the worst devil in existence.

Frightened, the man swallowed his saliva before he said. "I was sent by... I was sent by–"

"Stop wasting our time or your head would roll." Vivian threatened, having the same harmless smile on still her face as she used her spiritual pressure on the man.

Silent for about a second, the man's body got drenched in sweat as he said. "The person who sent me was... Ughh... Ughh..."

Clenching his bleeding neck tightly, the man desperately tried to stop his blood from flowing but it was to no avail as it easily seeped through the gaps in his fingers.

"You could've just killed him instead of letting him suffer," Leon said, barely controlling his urge to hit Vivian he added. "And why don't you like cooperating?"

"I had a hunch he was gonna lie so I decided to off him before he did." She replied, smiling as she stared at the man who was choking on his blood.

As she saw the man's blood splash on the floor and his face which showed pain, Vivian's smile got wider as she enjoyed the sight of the man slowly losing his life.

She was the reason why the man was currently choking as when he was talking, she had severed a tiny portion of his windpipe so that he could choke on his blood but still let air enter into his lungs in minute quantities.

In short, a slow death that would cause immense torture to the man.

Picking up the man's gun that had fallen, Leon aimed at the man's head and said. "I guess I shouldn't have expected anything more from a deranged sadist."

Buzz...

Boom!

With the gun buzzing as if it had come to life, Leon unhesitatingly shot at the man's head –making it explode like a melon while paying no heed to plead that was visible within his eyes before his demise.

Thud...

After a second had passed, the headless body lost its balance and fell lifelessly on the wooden floor– making the blood that was flowing from its stump-like neck dye the floor in its reddish pigment.

"Hahaha... You call me a sadist but you aren't any different." Vivian taunted, laughing after seeing how Leon had killed the man even though they could've healed him.

"Healing him would have been risky since he might have things that could make him explode or he could poison himself when he's about to tell the truth," Leon replied, looking at the plasma rifle with focus.

"True just like how I did to your loved ones." She said, nodding at what Leon had just said.

Ignoring her words and the anger bubbling fiercely within him, Leon handed her the rifle and said. "I doubt technology was this advance back in our world."

"Now that you mention it, it does seem too advanced for our world," Vivian said, running her eyes through the gun before giving it back to Leon.

"Since we're sure that the world is different from our previous one, I guess it's time I go pay this body's family a visit," Leon said.

Carefully going through the memories that had just been transferred to him, Leon walked out of the hallway without bothering to glance at Vivian who was behind him.

The more time he spent with her the more he hated himself for being too weak and the only thing that kept him calm was his thoughts getting strong enough to kill her.

"See you later my love."

Vivian's voice echoed from the distance as it carried happiness and a trace of genuine longing.

Still ignoring her, Leon's eyes widened in surprise at the things he saw after he walked out of the building.

Around him were thousands of metallic buildings that were as tall as skyscrapers –each seeming like towering monstrosities when the barely visible sun got reflected on their dull grey surfaces, several white spheres that were constantly displaying holographic advertisements around them, and cool-looking hover cars that kept flying above the heads of pedestrians who were walking below.

Amazed, Leon stared around him as he muttered. "So this is what Roxy was trying to say."

Staring at this otherworldly sight for a few more seconds, Leon turned to look his head back and was surprised to see that the houses behind him were made from either wood or bricks.

This made it seem like the government was trying to preserve their former heritage but from what the incomplete memories told him, the government didn't have enough funds to renovate the whole city when it was discovered by extraterrestrial humans.

So they used preserving culture as an excuse and soon forgot about the unmodernized part of the city when they had enough funds.

After a few seconds, Leon began walking in the direction of this body's house from what the memories showed him while enduring the cold that hung over the city akin to a veil.

He had received the recent memories of the previous owner with fragments of the owner's older memories like the government calling its failure cultural preservation.

As for language, he was able to speak and understand it so soon due to it being something this body regularly used.

In about half an hour of constant walking and ignoring people's cautious yet curious gaze, Leon had arrived at a building made from bricks –it neither showcased poverty nor wealth but something balanced.

Knock! Knock!

Walking towards the door, Leon took in a deep breath before knocking on the door and going through the fragments of the owner and his family's interaction.

Honestly, those memory fragments weren't much they were about five, and in all of them, the body's owner never talked to them too much nor smiled.

His dad had black hair, blue eyes, an average face, and worked in a Droid manufacturing company. His mum was a red-eyed blonde beauty who worked as a police officer. And he had a fifteen-year-old younger sister with blonde hair and blue eyes who looked up to him.

With a smile appearing on his face after he read their information, Leon couldn't help but feel nostalgic as this was exactly what his previous family was from looks to similar jobs.

But for no specific reason, Vivian had taken it all away from him.

Slightly angered, Leon took in a deep breath to calm himself before knocking on the door again.

He might've lost it all in his previous life but now he could get something similar, something that the person who owned this body had failed to appreciate.

Seeing that there was no response after waiting for five minutes, Leon placed his hand on the doorknob while trying to open it.

"They must've left in a hurry," Leon muttered, seeing that the door had opened –thereby giving him access to the house.

"I guess I'll wait for their arrival then," Leon said, walking towards where he remembered his room was so that he could wash off the dry blood on him.

About thirty minutes after Leon had gone to the bathroom, three people who looked the same as those from the memories Leon had gotten entered the house with smiles on their faces.

"I knew Lilly would be able to do it." The man said, smiling from ear to ear as he patted his daughter's head.

"Unlike Leon that is. That boy was our failure." The woman sighed, looking at Lilly she asked. "So what do you want to eat my little genius?"

"Hmmm... Let's see..." Lilly pondered, having a cute expression on her beautiful face.

"I'd like to eat–"

"You guys are back."

Just as Lilly was about to speak, a slightly deep masculine voice that they hadn't heard in the past month sounded through the room.

Instantly making the happiness of the people in the room fall, the man who had been smiling had a frown on his face as he asked.

"What're you doing here?"
