Chapter 31

The Sevii Islands are a group of islands situated south of Kanto. They are also home to Kanto's Elite Four, Lorelei, who hails from Floe Island and specializes in Ice-type Pokemon.

In the depths of the Icefall Cave on Floe Island, a Lapras cries out loudly, causing an explosion of icy blue beams that illuminate the area horizontally, turning the waterfalls into solid ice. Suddenly, a large icicle crashed down, shattering the frozen waterfall and allowing the chilling echo of Lapras's voice to fill the cave once again.

The slim and tall red-haired woman, dressed in a black skirt and black silk stockings, steped forward on high heels and adjusted her flat glasses.

She patted Lapras affectionately and said with a slight smile, "Good job, Lapras!"

"Lapp~!" Lapras affectionately rubbed the woman's white cheeks in the gloomy cave, suddenly a faint beam flashed as her communicator lit up.

"This is Lorelei," the woman said, answering the call.

From the other end of the communicator came the cheerful voice of a girl, "Sister Lorelei! You have to go on YouTube and watch the video I just reposted!"

"Misty," Lorelei responded, smiling as she folded one hand and held her mobile phone with another .

"Is this the drama you've been obsessing over lately?" she asked.

"No, it's an instructional video about Perish Song tactics!" Misty exclaimed.

Lorelei was momentarily stunned, "Perish Song tactics?"

"I know, right? I thought it was just a gimmick, but it turns out to be genuine!" Misty continued.

Lorelei replied with a slight smile, "There's no such thing as a genuine move. I wouldn't dare use this tactic in the Master group."

"But what if we didn't use Lapras as the core, and instead used Gengar?"

Misty suggested.

Lorelei was taken aback. Gengar's Perish Song tactics? Could Gengar, with its small, fragile body, really sustain the moment when the opponent completely loses its fighting intent?

With curiosity piqued, Lorelei returned Lapras to its Poké Ball and headed back to her residence on Floe Island.

Once there, she entered her room, which was surprisingly girlish with pink wallpaper, plush carpets full of dolls and pillows, and even a poster of John Cena on the wall.

Despite her icy appearance, Lorelei and Misty, being around the same age, shared many common interests such as girl manga and idol dramas.

Lorelei turned on her computer and clicked on the link that Misty had just sent her, leading to a video titled "Teacher Luke's Battle Instructions 05: Perish Song Tactic."

"Trainer of Orient Region?" Lorelei thought to herself, a little surprised. In her experience, trainers from the Orient region weren't typically known for their use of Perish Song tactics. Even the Ghost Type Gym Leader of Luxurian City was more known for their use of Destiny Bond tactics.

However, as Lorelei watched the battle between Gengar and Garchomp unfold on screen, she found her attention immediately captured. Gengar vs Garchomp was a common matchup in the Master group, and the commands on both sides were highly sophisticated, befitting the Master Group's competitive style.

But then Lorelei saw something that surprised her even more - a very familiar style on the Garchomp.

"Cynthia?" Lorelei whispered to herself, her pupils shrinking slightly as she recognized the Champion's signature style of play.

She had fought Cynthia several times in the Master group match and had always been impressed by her command and playing style, which was totally different from the ferocity and fierceness of other female trainers. In fact, Lorelei had only ever seen Garchomp played in this style by Cynthia.

But the real surprise came when she realized that Gengar had been able to hold its own against Cynthia's Garchomp, suppressing its rhythm and keeping the battle deadlocked.

Lorelei couldn't help but wonder who this Trainer from the Orient Region was. That he has managed to hold his own against one of the strongest trainers in the Master Group which piqued her curiosity even more.

Lorelei stretched out, lying lazily on the computer desk, and muttered, "It can be used in actual combat, but the conditions are too harsh. I guess it's a routine developed by a big guy who has nothing to do."

She continued, "By the way... this tactic is too dirty!"

The evaluation of this video on Youtube is quite high, but many people cannot practice this tactic due to limited availability of Pokémon.

They also tried to seek opinions from other Ghost Type experts.

Curiously, Lorelei browsed the comment section and saw various remarks such as, "This is already Teacher Luke's third tactical tutorial!"

"Why are they all games? When will Teacher Luke come to the field!"

Some users even tagged Johto's Ghost Type Gym Leader, Clairvoyant Lucian of Region Ecruteak City, requesting a detailed explanation.

Johto Ghost Type Gym Leader Lucian of Ecruteak City is also a loyal user of Perish Song tactics.

Lorelei met him once, but Perish Song tactics are not Lorelei's expertise after all.
