Kate continued with the diary. One of the entries then spoke about the day Kate told Susie that she was dating Ashton. Susie was genuinely happy, since one was her best friend while the other one was one of her closest friend'. She teased them whenever they were together but she supported them in secret. Susie no longer had any feelings for Ashton which was a happy thing for her as well. This went on for a month or two when Susie suddenly saw Ashton talk on the phone about Kate to someone. He was talking about how he had started dating Kate and how he could 'commence his plan' further. Firstly, Susie didn't want to believe it and thought he was creating some surprise plan for Kate, but this started happening more frequently. In one of the conversations, she even heard him saying how she (Susie) was no longer doubting him and was supporting his relationship with Kate. Susie immediately understood something was wrong. She wanted to warn Kate, but she was so much in love that she had to protect her in secret. She didn't want Kate to think that she was trying to separate them. She loved Kate a lot. She couldn't imagine anything happening to her. So she decided to take the extreme step. It wouldn't ensure that Kate would be safe forever, but it would at least make Kate safe for the next few years.
Kate was left with only a couple more of entries. She realized how much Susie had done for her, and how much of a bitch she (Kate) had been. Susie was always there for her. Not caring about her and protecting her from all the harm and then tending to her wounds in the dark and finally coming out again to protect her. The worst part was that, the person whom she was trying to protect had given her the most wounds, the most sorrows...the most pain, and she didn't complain…not even once. Kate mustered her courage. She was dead tired, her eyes were hurting, but it was nothing compared to the pain Susie went through. It was 2 AM in the morning. Kate got herself a cup of coffee and watched some of her videos with Susie – singing, dancing, blabbering shit. She controlled herself and tried hard not to cry, yet a few drops fell out of her eyes. She quickly wiped them and then a strong determination flashed in her eyes. She finished the coffee quickly and started reading the diary again – the last couple of entries.
Just admit it. All of us judged Susie in the past. Right? We owe her a big apology. T . T
