9. Husband and Wife

Leona was pulled by Li Wei to where her team is in the conference room, she casually glanced around and noticed that some of the superiors are still outside. Nicole is glaring at her as always while her crew is giving her side glances, She ignored them as always.

"Where is brother Demitri?" She asked, she didn't notice his absence earlier with all the ruckus going on.

"He has a mission somewhere." Klaus said "Did he figure it out?"

"No, but he's getting suspicious. Was it really him that day?"

"Liliana hopped into an unregistered car that day and with how good they were at hiding their tracks, there's a huge possibility that it's him." Akio answered.

They were huddled and murmuring to each other when Xavier and Liu Xiang went in the room, he can't help his blood from boiling looking at the scene in front of him. He knew it's normal for her to be closed with her team, she has to trust them with her life afterall but he can't help himself from being irrational as well.

"I've gathered a few intel while you were with her earlier, she grew up in a military boarding school with all of them since she was just six. She has ***asocial tendency and doesn't mingle with other people aside from her crew. She's known as the stoic doll because of it but of course it didn't matter, all those hot blooded males in school was envious with these guys. She's obviously the prettiest in the military and they have all of her attention for themselves. Well I think she's really the prettiest, heck she can even compete in a beauty pageant if she wants to. I kinda heard of her somewhere before but we're too busy with our missions to be able to check her out." Liu Xiang toned down the excitement in his voice when he noticed Xavier's face getting colder and colder "Aheerm, but isn't that good second brother? It means she didn't pay attention to any of her suitors."

Xavier's mood lighten a bit but eventually darken again thinking about the fact that she grew up with these walking androgens and didn't she mentioned that her brothers hated her? With how protective they were of her it contradicted her claim, was she really just playing him then?

"Good! Everyone is already here, alright Let's get down to business." Mr. Langley breaks the chatter in the room and walked up to the platform to start the briefing, he is the Operations Manager of ***DoSOC which is one of the enforcement agencies of the Arm Forces of Country W. It consists of elite special units that investigates potential threats to the national security.

He then provided the nature of the mission and how they have to carefully infiltrate a neighborhood to root out the sleeper agents before they could pose a threat in the future. "As you may already know, we have asked Mr. Wang to help us with our upcoming mission."

Leona knitted her brow with what she've heard. 'How can a civilian help them?' Li Wei provided her his details earlier and she can't seem to put the pieces together but then she remembered how he deftly blocked most of her attacks earlier outside the restroom and her brows knitted some more.

'Just who is this guy?.'

As if the Operations Manager can hear her thoughts he continued " You don't have to know more about him, this mission is highly classified but I can guarantee that you can trust him and that he's a fully capable person. He is here to grant us a favor, we needed his identity to create a deep cover and enter the neighborhood without raising suspicions."

she tapped a finger on her leg as she analyzed the situation, it is really logical to send a public figure instead of just any active elite special officer without solid cover especially now that the spies must be feeling paranoid. She heard that Xavier Wang's is a respectable CEO of a fast growing company for years, she doesn't know his end of the bargain yet but it is reasonable.

"But of course we can't let them do all the job, it's a joint operation after all. So we'll send one of our people with him to investigate, he's gonna lend us his name and we take care of the rest."

Everyone nodded in agreement "And if you noticed there were two teams present today, it is because we wanted to weigh our options and choose the best candidate to play as Mr. Wang's wife."

Leona almost choked on her own saliva 'what do you mean by best candidate to become a wife? there are only two females in this room? Isn't she supposed to be out of the equation considering that she doesn't really looked like someone that is into playing house. She glanced at her crew and they have the same worried look on their faces.

" With all due respect Sir but my team is more accustomed to field missions." Klaus tried to reason out with their superiors.

"We already thought about that, but there is always a first time with everything right? Aren't you confident with your team's potentials and capabilities? We considered a lot of things in choosing both of your teams, and for yours Klaus it's because just like your old team, your current crew holds a 100 percent success rate with your previous missions and if given few more years, they would be able to surpass 'The Grim Reapers'' impeccable record."

Which is true, the unit 'Grim Reapers' hold the best record in the history of DoSOC but they disbanded too soon for some reason and her team is just a few missions away from taking their title.

The room fell silent, Leona is biting her lower lip, looking unhappy with her situation.

'Why can't they discuss this on their own? And are they seriously considering me?'

After all the memo she got for insubordination and other violations for not being an agreeable soldier? They seriously wanted her to sleuth around knowing full well that she's a ticking time bomb? If she's to be honest here, the reason why she's still sitting in this room is not just because she's a capable soldier but because her brothers has been covering her ass from all the dismissal papers thrown her way.

It is commonly known as antisocial but in psychology these are two different personalities, antisocial personality is the more destructive kind. Someone with this personality has no regards with other people's feelings and could be potentially dangerous while being asocial describes someone who just lacks interest or rejects social interaction.
