ch. 2

Aether had just finished shopping for new clothes and was finally able to rest. When he woke up, he realized that it was already afternoon. In a bid to avoid arousing suspicion, he quickly dressed up as a girl. As he stepped out of the room, the servants all looked at him with fear in their eyes. Aether couldn't help but wonder why he had such a bad reputation in this place. Minutes later, a servant came to him and told him that his mother wanted to see him.

After finishing dressing up, Aether went to his mother's room. As he was about to go in, he wondered if his parents knew that he was a girl. He eventually met his new mother; scared at first, she asked him how he was doing. Aether responded happily while the room became silent. Then all of a sudden, his mother apologized for having him act like a girl. At this point Aether became confused until he realized that she must have known that he was actually a boy. He then asked her why she would want him to pretend being a girl and she recalled how during her pregnancy period she had wished for a girl in order to protect Aether from demons who always hunted boys born by women of royal lineage, because royal blood men can inherit the royal blood to their next son or daughter.

That night, Aether couldn't help but feel confused about the whole situation. He asked himself if the storyline had changed and what he was going to do next. Before he knew it, he fell asleep.

The next day, Aether went to the palace library to research demons. After hours of research, he stumbled upon a book with no cover. When he tried to open it, he realized that it was sealed shut. Aether couldn't help but feel that the book was important, so he took it and left the library. When he got to his room, he tried his best to open it, even biting it (which made him laugh). After a few minutes of trying, letters started to float out of the book like some kind of code. However, Aether couldn't read any of the words. He realized that there were new words in the game that he couldn't understand, so he decided to learn the "new world" for his "new world."

Days went by, and Aether was still stuck in his room trying to learn the new words when suddenly a butler knocked on his door and gave him a letter. It was an invitation to an event where every realm creature was invited. Aether quickly realized that it was going to be his first meeting with the main character. He was excited, but he also remembered from the storyline that the mean princess tried to embarrass the main character. However, he changed his mind and decided to go, promising himself that he would just behave like a puppy.

Aether got into the carriage, and it was his first time riding one, so he was amazed and curious. When he arrived at the event, he was blown away by all the people and creatures from other worlds. However, he suddenly felt dizzy and couldn't stand the auras of the people around him. He bumped into a girl who offered him a drink, and he slowly got back to himself. He looked at the girl and realized that she was the main character with beautiful long white hair and rose gold eyes. He was in love for a second, but then it was time for the main character to leave. Aether didn't forget to thank her.

As the event went on, Aether got bored and sat down to eat. Suddenly, an announcement was made that someone had stolen the gems. Everyone was surprised, and Aether didn't even know what gems were. The announcer continued to speak, but they were suddenly cut off, leaving everyone in confusion.

Aether's back suddenly glowed, and everyone's attention was drawn to the gem he had been carrying. The other characters looked at him with anger, and he tried to explain himself, but it was too late. Each of them pulled out their weapon, ready to use their power against him. Without a moment's hesitation, Aether grabbed the gem, put it in his pocket, and ran away as fast as he could.

As he was running, he stumbled upon the main character, who saw that he was in distress and asked if he could help. Aether asked for help, and the main character agreed to help him hide in a nearby cave. Aether explained why he was running, and the main character listened patiently, calming him down with soothing words.

After a few minutes, Aether finally calmed down, and he asked the main character what his name was. The main character replied that his name was "Lin qui," which confused Aether because it sounded like a boy's name. The main character explained that he was, in fact, a boy, but he dressed as a girl to get away from the demons. Aether realized that they were more similar than he had initially thought and opened up to the main character, telling him about his own struggles.

As they sat and talked, hours passed, and it was time for them to say goodbye. Aether bid farewell to the main character, promising to meet again soon.
