A Gang With Good News

"Do you guys own this car?" one of the men asked.

Barry looked at him. When he saw him getting closer, he immediately used his Insightful Gaze.

'That guy's strength is pretty decent.' Barry thought. 'And there are six of them. Let's see if I can beat them with my current strength.'

Barry wasn't afraid. He might feel a little worried because of their number. But, he has a bunch of useful skills in his arsenal.

What he was worried about was Danny. This man doesn't know anything about how to use his awakened power.

"That's my car," Barry replied. "Don't think about robbing it."

The six people exchanged glances while snickering in disdain. Thinking that what Barry said was something too ridiculous to hear.

The six men took out their guns. They all have a gun each.

"You should go back inside," Barry said in a whisper to Danny.

Danny looked at him. "What? Are you crazy? You want to fight them alone?!"

"Yes. Don't worry about me. I was able to survive this long because of my abilities. This isn't a battle you can win when you don't know what your skills are and how to use them."

He wanted to say that Elaine also played a role in his survival but that would make him sound less convincing. And now he needs Danny to believe in him so he willing to go back inside.

"Go inside and wake up Elaine," Barry added. "Quick!"

Danny hesitated. Previously, there was no way he would let a kid fight six people alone.

But now the world has turned into something unreasonable. Beside him, Danny saw someone who seemed to have adapted to the conditions of this world much better than him.

Barry's face didn't show panic or fear. There was only calmness and cold look in his eyes. Even when he was facing six armed men.

That made Danny think that stepping down was the best decision for him.

"Take my shotgun." Danny held out his shotgun.

Barry stared at the shotgun for a few moments, thinking. And then he took it.

After that Danny ran inside.

"Where do you think you're going?" the man named Jared pointed his gun at Danny.

"Don't think about it!" Barry said, pointing his shotgun at him.

Jared smirked. Once again looking at him with a look of disdain.

"What do you want to do? Shoot me? I'm not sure a kid like you has ever held a weapon before," Jared said. "I heard that you have a girl there. How about... You hand her over and we'll get out of here together?"

Barry grinned thinly. These people really think that he can't do anything to them. That's good. That could be his advantage.

Barry used his Insightful Gaze again to see the stats of the rest of them. What he saw was what he had expected.

Just like the group he and Elaine fought before. These people felt that with the new power awakening in their bodies, they could do whatever they wanted. Even though their Attributes and skills were below him.

There is nothing special about their skills. What they have are only enhanced skills like Enhanced Speed, Strength, etc.

However, Barry noticed an interesting skill from one of Jared's friends.

He may have reached the limit of the skills he can possess. But, no one said that he couldn't increase his limit. So, keeping the skills he got from killing those people is a good decision in his mind.

"If I give her. What else can you offer?" Barry asked.

They exchanged glances, then laughed.

"Now we're talking, kid. You intend to sell your girlfriend to survive in this destroyed world," Jared said to him. "I can let you into our group and you won't regret it. We have a girl who can make various kinds of potions."

What Jared said caught Barry's attention. A girl who can make potions? Is that why they are quite confident and arrogant? They must have tasted the effect of the potion and they maybe brought it with them right now. 

'I have to meet that girl.'

Now that he has another goal, Barry is even more eager to kill these bandits. If he makes that girl his companion, his life in this apocalypse will be much easier.

"Thanks for the information." Barry suddenly lunged at them.

The six people were shocked because of the sudden movement. Those who initially thought Barry was scared and wanted to give up instead saw him lunge like a daredevil.

"SHOOT HIM!" Jared shouted his command filled with panic.

The other five immediately shot at Barry. But Barry nimbly kicked the ground and shot upwards. Their shots only hit the motel walls behind Barry.

"He... He is flying!" one of the men shouted in panic.

*BANG!*

A moment after those words left his mouth, Barry blew his head off with a shot from his shotgun.

'Damn! I'm lucky!'

He never thought that his shot would hit the target. Apart from not being used to using firearms, this place was also quite dark.

That shot sent Barry flying in the other direction. Those who tried to shoot him back again could only hit empty air.

And then he manipulated gravity to go down. Then he charged again.

*BANG!*

Barry shot another man and made him fall to the ground instantly.

The rest is history, Barry uses his extraordinary skills and control of gravity to defeat the remaining bandits.

The battle lasts less than a minute. Five bandits died at Barry's hands while their leader, Jared, had serious injuries in his leg.

Barry walked closer to him. To Jared, Barry looks like a grim reaper ready to reap his soul in the most painful way possible.

"Now," Barry said. "Show me your place. And the girl who can make potions."
