Chapter 8: Return of the Past

Sumi doesn't remember anything at all, Shouta still tries to make her remember even though the probability of it working is slim to none. Will he succeed?

"Well Sumi you don't remember-" said by Shouta before getting interrupted by Sumi

"Sumi? Who is that and who are you? Are you that important to me?" Said by Sumi

"You, your name is Sumi, short for Natsumi" Shouta replied

"And we were best friends" Shouta added

*In Shouta's mind*

"Yeah we're best friends, we weren't lovers yet"

"Look I'm sorry, Sumi it's all my fault your here, I hope you get better soon" said by Shouta

"Wait!" Sumi said before grabbing Shouta's arm

"Please stay, my senses tell me that you should stay here longer, whoever you are" Sumi quickly followed

Shouta was shocked to hear her say it, but he has a sudden feeling of deja vu.

*In shouta's mind again*

"I have a sudden feeling like I've been here in this exact moment before, I don't know when but it feels familiar yet different somehow"

"Are you okay Sho? " Sumi asked

"Who is Sho?" Shouta asked

"A nickname for you" Sumi replied

Shouta gets sudden hallucinations and vague memories of certain events, but he doesn't recognize any of them.

"I'm sorry Sumi but I've got to go" said by Shouta

Shouta in a rush ran outside the room, he was sprinting through the hallways, Sumi was concerned and ran after him.

"Sho wait up!" Sumi yelled

The doctors tried to stop Sumi but she was too persistent and they couldn't stop her, Shouta was running aswell but with every way he went he would accidentally hit something. With all the chaos happening they tried calling for help but it wasn't working. Finally at the ground floor Sumi caught up with Shouta.

"Shou hold on" said by Sumi

Sumi hugs Shouta begging him to stop running, Shouta gets a sudden flashback of the accident, and he realized that chasing her was what caused the accident, he gets a realization that if this chase continues one of them might experience the same tragedy.

"Please stop running Shou-kun" said Sumi

"Okay I'll stop" said by Shouta

"Will you promise me you won't do that again? " said by Sumi

"I promise" Shouta replied

Sumi suddenly faints, without knowing how or why this happened Shouta was in total shock, he immediately called for help, but no response, he realized that if no one would help her she could be in more risks than she already is, so he did it himself, he gave her CPR and tried everything he knew but no luck, when he thought all hope was lost a miracle happened, Masahiko arrived because she saw the whole incident across the building and rushed over. Luckily Masahiko was a medic expert and a nurse in training so she knew how to help.

"Masahiko!?" said by Shouta

Shouta hadn't seen Masahiko since the accident.

"I thought you were dead" said by Shouta

"What made you thought I was dead?" Masahiko replied

"Well Kouta told me" Shouta replied

"Well I guess he was still salty about the break up" Masahiko replied

"Well I couldn't contact you either" said by Shouta

"I changed my number" said by Masahiko

Sumi woke up and the doctors took her back her back, Masahiko said to Shouta that "She'll probably recover again within a week or so". Shouta was relieved and disappointed at the same time. Masahiko and Shouta grabbed some coffee afterwards and chatted for a bit.

"So where have you been all this time Masahiko?" Shouta asked

"Well I went to med school and graduated college earlier than most, and I am now a nurse in training" Masahiko replied

"And I'm sorry for the trouble I've caused you, I don't expect you to forgive me anyways, I've gone to therapy about it and changed my ways, but I don't know about Kiyomi, she still thinks it's your fault and she still might be the same old Kiyomi." Masahiko added

"Don't worry I forgive you, everyone can be forgiven, and Kiyomi still thinks it was my fault eh" Shouta replied

"Yep, I tried to talk her out of it but she wouldn't listen, she made a whole essay or something about it, but let me ask where have you been? " said by Masahiko

"Well I'm still in college actually, I'm studying computer science and engineering, and I haven't moved on from the tragedy and I'm still thinking about ending it all, but the one thing that stops me from ending it is Sumi, I always thought to myself 'if I killed myself who would take care of Sumi senpai, she won't have anyone to take care of her" Shouta replied

"Must be rough being you" Masahiko replied

"Yep, I sometimes envy you actually" said by Shouta

"Yeah? And why is that? " Masahiko asked

"Well it seems like you have it all, a good relationship, a good job, nice friends, and overall a good life" Shouta replied

Masahiko grabs Shouta and pins him against a wall and says "You don't know how it feels to suffer if you think I have a perfect life, just because I have all of those that doesn't mean I'm not suffering, Kouta left me for another woman, my boss is hates me, all my friends have left me aswell!"

"I'm sorry Shouta, I don't know what that was, it was just that you triggered something inside of me to burst" said by Masahiko

"It's okay Masahiko some people get triggered by certain things aswell, but please stop pinning me now" Shouta replied

"Oh sorry" said by Masahiko

Masahiko and Shouta kept chatting and enjoyed their coffee.
