"Don't play with your phone" Ryan reminded.
Her lips twitched. She was well aware of the rule. Although they are allowed to bring their mobile phones to school but are not allowed to use them openly.
"By the way, ask Lani to print the list of events with their respective dates."
"She's my secretary, not yours."
'What's wrong with this guy. Does he really need to flaunt that my best friend is his exclusive secretary? If it weren't him then she would be my EXCLUSIVE secretary.'
"We need that list and you know this too" Anyway she didn't express her inner thoughts and decided to focus on the issue. After all, she can't change the fact that her and Lani's plan has been failed thanks to Ryan.
"You should look for a secretary. You can't go too long like this. Just how seniors spared you?" He was wondering till this day just why no one bothered her to recruit another person to share her burden.
"Yeah! yeah! I need to find a suitable secretary. I also need to find a suitable discipline-in-charge."
"Is no one suitable...?" He was unaware as it was up to Layla to appoint someone as discipline-in-charge.
"Hmm... I haven't found any decent person. You see, the problem is that, that we can't appoint a bad student, they could easily misuse their power neither we can appoint an upright student when they might be unable to control some dire situations." She sighed. "It won't do any good to us."
"We have to look for some alternative or a capable student." Ryan gave an obvious suggestion.
She rolled her eyes. "True... But tiring. No one's appealing enough to be a candidate let alone discipline in charge."
They continued to do their things in the room before they would go to see Oliver again.
As the members of the student council, they can skip classes but that with a limit too. This means that they need to attend at least a certain number of classes too. Thus, it would be normal for them to stay at school longer to finish their works.
"It's nearing the time." Layla was nervous.
"Hmm. How did you find that Oliver was the culprit?" Ryan wanted to know the whole story.
"Since the leader of the music club couldn't obtain permission to look at the CCTV footage at her will, she came to me. You know, how arrogant that security room in charge is, he won't even let Lani look at the monitoring. Thus, when we looked at the CCTV footage, we saw that Oliver took some pages from Olivia's stuff. Only me and she knew about this till the morning."
She further continued explaining. "I went to Olivia, dragged her in a corner, made her spill the beans, I mean whatever she knew related to her brother's behavior. Well, I was able to uncover the fact that Oliver had been asking her for money for some time. But didn't succeed."
She rubbed her forehead.
"So, you chased after him with Olivia in tow only to ended up on a tree." He completed the last piece of the puzzle.
"Unfortunately, yes."
"Why wasn't Lani with you at that time?" He asked his remain unanswered question.
"She wanted to join us but that arrogant in-charge only allowed two people to enter. That's why she left."
Both Layla and Ryan moved in the direction of the infirmary unaware of the shock they will be going to receive in a few moments.
When they were near the entrance, Layla whispered to him, "Ahem, Am I going alone or--"
"Bring that girl to me" a shrill voice of a woman screaming could be heard. It was coming from the inside of the infirmary room.
"Tell me, she isn't their mother.!" Layla turned towards Ryan. She was tenser than before. It was quite a surprise that someone visited them on the same day on which this incident happened. "You met the doctor, right? What did he say? How's his condition?" She could feel her hands shaking with tension.
"He got some bruises. His wrist bone was dislocated. Fortunately, nothing was broken. By the way, he fixed the bone." Ryan explained with as much as a gentle voice he could muster.
"Without X-ray...?"
"He's an ex-army doctor." He reasoned.
"Right." His experience in the army made him capable to do so.
Layla took a long deep breath before entering the room.
As soon as she entered followed by Ryan, everyone went silent. They noticed the people present in the room. Mr. and Mrs. Park, their two children: Olivia and Oliver, and of course the principal to listen to their complaints and mediate.
Just as Layla and Ryan took a moment to look at those people. Mr. and Mrs. Park also noticed the highlighted badge on their chests on which their designation was written.
...
Meanwhile, when the drama in the room was about to reach another level, someone else was looking for the principal and was heading there.
"He is not in his office." Zou Haoran said to the person on the phone. He was talking to his mother.
Right now, he was looking for the principal because his mother had some matters to discuss with him. And, she didn't want to wait any longer when her son and his friends would be joining the classes tomorrow.
"Don't worry, I'm heading there. Why aren't you calling him by yourself, mom?" He was still thinking about why he has to go and give his mobile to the principal just so that his mother can talk to him.
"Because your mobile is safer. It has more security " she replied in her honey-like voice that could conceal her real age perfectly.
" I understand, mom." It was enough for him to understand that all this was due to security purposes. And his mother won't be taking any risks with their security. After all, sometimes making a call could be risky for them.
...
Mrs. Park glared at Layla after seeing her badge. "It was you who hurt my son." It wasn't a question but a statement. With this, she lunged towards Layla with the intention to slap her.
