Xylon knew that in order to dive deep into the abyss, he needed to have an anchor outside of it to maintain the connection between him and the outside world.
However, in the heat of the moment, he had forgotten all about it.
That explained why he had become consumed and overwhelmed with the dark energy surrounding him.
After emerging from the abyss, Xylon headed straight for the pond. It was nighttime, and he wasn't sure how much time he had spent inside the abyss, but he was acutely aware of the difference from when he had entered.
As he walked, he noticed that the grass under his feet was getting darker, an indication that his dark energy was still all around him.
He called out for Akuna, hoping that she would respond. To his surprise, she appeared before him almost immediately.
"You... you're here? Unharmed?" she said, her confusion evident in her voice.
Xylon's wicked smile grew wider as he saw the surprise and confusion in Akuna's eyes.
