She held onto his shirt tightly, trying to steady herself as tears continued to flow down her cheeks.
"You hate me... of course... but can you listen to me," Eva choked out, her voice trembling with emotion.
Despite the anger he felt, he couldn't completely shut her out.
"What do you mean?" Xylon asked, his tone still stern but with a hint of curiosity.
He wanted to understand what she was trying to say, even though a part of him wanted to push her away.
As a demon, he was conditioned to view emotions differently than humans. In the demon realm, there was no displaying vulnerability or shedding tears .
Emotions were something to be suppressed and hidden.
He knew that she was hurt, but he wanted her to act tougher, to put on a brave face and not let her emotions overpower her.
It frustrated him to see her crying, as if she were giving in to her weaknesses.
