Quickie was about to run back to the restaurant, he had steelened his resolve and was confident in his ability to make it back in one piece.
"I would rather die with my honor than die as a coward." Quickie said while staring downgradingly at the rest of the boys.
They were all well aware of the value of one's honor in their culture and Quickie's words had pierced through their hearts, leaving a mark in their minds.
"I'll go with you, we grab Kenji and then we teleport back." Kamikaze said, he stood up from his chair with a smile on his face.
Quickie was surprised by the sudden change in demeanor from Kamikaze, causing a skeptical look to weave it's way onto his face.
"Come on, my way is faster, we'll just grab him and go back." Kamikaze said, he was making a strong argument and had managed to convince Quickie that his intentions were pure.
"I'm going too." Kim said but h couldn't care less about Kenji, he was just afraid of being abandoned or losing his connection to Kamikaze.
Kamikaze had the most useful talent in his eyes, at the slightest whiff of danger, he would teleport them to safety.
In his eyes, Kamikaze was like his life jacket or med kit and it would nothing short of stupid to let such a valuable asset out of his sight.
"No, you are staying here, the more people I teleport, the more Mana I export and I don't want to risk anything that dangerous." Kamikaze said, he was lucky enough to find strong people like those in the group and it would be beyond foolish to endanger their lives
"I can't risk losing another one of you, I'll be back in the next 3 minutes max." Kamikaze said, he needed to find some way to reassure the members of the group that he wasn't going to run away.
"That was what the last guy said." Kim said with a sneer, hinting at Kenji's arrogance and blatant disregard for his own safety.
To him, Kenji was just some kid who wanted to play messiah and he had gotten exactly what he deserved.
"I am not Kenji." Kai said, and his body lit up, in the blink of an eye, he and Quickie had vanished into thin air, hoping to rescue or retrieve Kenji.
While all this was happening, the Kenji who had been the subject of the boys' discussion was having his hands occupied.
Kenji appeared before the Nest King and by sheer luck, the place happened to be void of any zombies.
"Please, please save us." A woman said with tears dripping down her eyes, she had watched her companions and colleagues be brutally ripped apart in the last 72 hours and it had left a severe mental scar in her mind.
'Those humans, one of them.most have awakened their talent, I can't risk killing someone with a powerful talent, I need to take the fight somewhere else.' Kenji thought, his mind continued to spin as fast as it could but he was unable to provide an answer.
'I need to find a way to lure this thing out.' Kenji thought but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't one up with any plan that would help him with something like that.
The only thing he had at his disposal were the talents he had copied in the past week and his blades, none of which would allow him to teleport the humans out of here.
As soon as Kenji finished that thought, rays of luck finally shone on him, for the first time today, something had worked out for his good.
Kamikaze and Quickie appeared beside him, Quickie was elated to see Kenji alive but he didn't dare show it, his mind was focused on the threat before him.
"Kami, I need you to take all these people out of here." Kenji ordered, that was the first step in the plan he had formulated 5 seconds ago.
As soon as Kenji finished his statement, the remaining humans who still drew breath vanished.
Kenji had put up a huge ice wall behind him to prevent any zombie infiltrating and backing up their king, he couldn't risk such trouble.
"Now, I need you to take us all out of here, including the king." Kenji said, Kamikaze wanted to challenge his thinking but the stern look from Kenji spoke volumes.
Kenji's plan was one he considered foolproof, with what he understood, zombies needed to eat humans wether alive or dead to grow stronger, that was their primal instinct.
That was why he left behind those corpses, he didn't want any zombie to follow him to whatever location they were teleported to, he wanted them to be focused on eating the corpses presented before them.
He wasn't arrogant enough to believe that he could still defeat the king alone, even with his rage mode that was quickly elapsing.
"Everyone attack, just go for the fucking head!!" Kenji screamed, he leaped into the air with his sword poised at the King's head.
The Nest King tried to swat Kenji away with his club but Kenji's body had vanished into this air.
Kenji appeared behind the Nest King and with all his strength, he sliced through the back of it's knees, causing it to stumble.
A hundred strikes crashed into the zombie in the span of ten seconds, courtesy of Quickie's rapid movements.
The Nest King stared at the surrounding environment and was shocked to find himself in an unknown location.
Ten lightning bolts crashed into the King, frying it's body, but it persisted in it's efforts to continue living.
But this time, something had changed, the King knew he couldn't face Kenji in rage mode and purposefully retreated so he could level up and then come back for Kenji.
But now that he had come face to face with Kenji, for the first time since it ascended, it felt fear.
Little did it know that Kenji's rage mode was about to run out
