Chapter Three: Testing & Combative

The next day Mirai wakes up in excitement because today is the day, she gets to actually start training. Mirai wakes up in a great mood washes up & brushes her teeth, and heads to the dining room to eat breakfast all before Amelia could wake her up.

"Young master I see that you are up bright & early, someone is excited about some training."

Happily, Mirai says "Well of course I'm just one step closer to my goal."

"Morning Ms. Amelia & my lady Mirai"

"Good morning to you too also Amelia is just fine."

"Morning Danny boy" <Mirai>

"When both of you are done eating meet me in the training room." <Amelia>

Both Mirai & Danny finished eating 15 minutes later & heads to the training to meet up with Amelia.

"Mom, Pops what are the both of you doing here? I thought it was just going to be us three?"

"Well yes you are correct, but there's a test me & your father want to give both of you."

"Lady Lilith what's the test." <Danny>

In his cold voice, Anubis says "We will be testing you & Mirai's power reserves with these orbs right here."

Anubis brings out 16 different orbs all either slightly bigger or smaller than the others. Anubis beings to explain how the test works.

"I'll explain how this works; I'm going to lay out 8 orbs & you're going to pour your power into them until it fills up or explodes one by one. The first four orbs as you can see vary in size, small, medium, large & enormous. The other four are city, country, continental & planet. What that means is if you pour your power into the small orb & it fills but doesn't break that means you have a small amount."

Anubis continues to say "What I mean by that is one by one you'll start with the small orb & you'll pour your power into it. If the small one fills & breaks it'll move on to the next one & so on until it can either fill, half fill, partially fill, or no longer break no more."

"Young master you'll be first" <Amelia>

"Okay," she says happily

Mirai walks over to the table where the orbs are laid out at. She starts at the small orbs & begins filling them with power one by one the orbs begin to burst first the small orb then the medium all the way until she gets to the country where it is only filled up to about 70%.

"That's awesome sweetie although this wasn't no surprise to me, your father & Amelia."

"Why do you say that mother? Is it because y'all already could see it?"

Mirai thinks to herself for a moment then lightly smacks her forehead saying duh I should have known that.

"I see you realized it so we will not be explaining it. But I do have to explain one thing though. Your power reserves don't equal power destruction. Mirai you're the perfect example. You have enough power to power up an entire city multiple times over since you'll be able not only to fill it but burst it & enough to partially power up a country." <Anubis>

Lilith adds "You must be wondering why or how is that especially since your father said it can power it up. Let me explain why; each ability that you use requires a different amount of power to cast. For example, you may have an ability that costs you 70% of your reserves while some may require 10% plus that's not counting on how long you've been in battle either."

She continues to say "Your stamina & your reserves are the same. With that being said how much energy you put into combat without using any of your abilities matters also. Do this make sense to you two?"

Both Mirai & Danny & at the same time say's "Yes it does."

"Danny you are up next." <Amelia>

"Right, I got this."

Danny also walks over to the table where the orbs are laid out at. He starts at the small orbs & begins filling them with power one by one the orbs begin to burst first the small orb then the medium all the way until she gets to the enormous one, he fills it up but it didn't burst but it did have like 3 cracks in it.

"The purpose of this was so both of you could see where you stood." <Amelia>

"That is exactly correct." <Anubis>

"With that being said you will spar against each other first. Me & you parents will watch & observe."

Anubis, Lilith, & Amelia give the two-room to spar.

"Winner is determined by KO, Submission or Death you may begin." <Anubis>

I don't know if Danny has any experience in fighting & if he does how much & is he any good. But I'll know for sure when this is over. Danny starts charging at me he telegraphs his punch towards my face I sidestep to the right & rock him hard with my right fist.

He stumbles a few inches & is a little stun. He starts rubbing the right side of his face it must have hurt I start laughing in my head. I begin to say to him while laughing...

"What kind of punch was that? I saw that a mile away try not to telegraph your punches in the future okay kid."

Danny again tries to start charging at her the same way & it fails again Mirai begins thinking to herself. I wonder if this is just some kind of ploy to lower my guard down? It's not going to work. If it's one thing that've learned is never to underestimate your opponent. Danny again does the same move he did two moves ago but this time he does a faint & Mirai barely dodges it as it grazed her face.

"You almost had me there kid so you do have a few tricks up your sleeve."

Danny again remains silent. I see he's all action no talk & if I'm correct he's probably studying my moves & how well I respond. I wonder how well he performs with an angry mindset? Mirai then proceeds to manipulate his feelings by changing his to angry & annoyed. It looks like it works I can see his emotions changing red means anger. Let's see what happens next.

"Did you notice a quick change in his mood?" Anubis whispers to Lilith.

"Indeed, it did happen so quickly like he's being manipulated."

Amelia overhears & says "But Mirai barely said anything... well at least not things worth getting upset over."

As those two continue to fight the other three begin to have a conversation among themselves.

"You are right about that but I feel like it's Mirai doing because Danny is a level head person, especially in a fight & after everything he's been through." <Anubis>

"I see she either hid an ability from us or it just manifest or just happened by chance am I right?" <Amelia>

"Your right but they didn't happen by chance nor did it just recently manifest. She hid this ability from us. She's an empath & judging off how she's using it had to happen 1-2 years ago." <Anubis>

Amelia curiously says "Why would she lie or not tell us about that ability?"

"I can answer that she probably wanted... no one to know because she wanted an ace up her sleeve an ability that no one knows about. She's still a rookie at using it but I believe it can be one of her trump cards if she uses it right." <Lilith>

Danny fires a lightning strike at Mirai & as it connects, she screams in pain. I didn't know he had an elemental attack. I thought if I could change his mental state, it'll be at my advantage but it either doesn't affect him or I'm still too weak. Oh, shit here comes another lightning attack!

"WHAT! WAIT! I can't move; what did you do to me!?"

"My lightning has a status effect whereas if you get hit by it there's a 20% chance of you being temporarily paralyzed."

"Oh, now you talk & I see now."

He shoots another bolt at me & it connects again. I let out another slight cry of pain, but it's going to take more than this to stop me. It's not that he caught me off guard it's just that I'm not fast enough to dodge it but I have to find a way to stop him.

I got it I'll just have to find a weakness or tall tale that he does before he fires it off. I just have to hold off until then. The fight continued as Mirai takes hit after hit as she tries her best to evade the lightning strikes & find a weakness. Danny continues to overwhelm Mirai with his barrage of lightning strike attacks.

But just when Mirai finds his weakness her body collapse from taking too much damage & fatigue the fight lasted 20 minutes.

"Sparring match over winner by KO Danny." <Amelia>

Anubis walks over & begins to heal Mirai then says "That's enough training today she's out cold I'll take her to her room."

He then teleports himself & Mirai to her room & lays her on her bed. After he tucks her in, he kisses her on the forehead & say's in a gentle voice "You did well my little princess I'm proud of ya there's always room for improvement."

He then teleports back to the training room.

"That was a good fight, Danny, very good indeed." <Lilith>

Danny being modest says "I only won because she lacks actual combat experience & I believe if she had just as much as me this might just have been a different outcome."

"You're just being modest. You won this fight fair & square." <Anubis>

"Danny you can go now & rest up & relax for the rest of the day." <Lilith>

"Yes, my lord."

Seven hours have passed since Mirai has been out cold. She wakes up trying to remember what happened. She gets a flashback of her fight with Danny & thinks to herself. Man, what the actual fuck did I actually lose!? This can never happen again I can't lose to someone like him.

Mirai started having multiple feelings swelling up inside her. She's feeling bittersweet & disappointed in herself; she's beating herself down. Amelia goes to her room to check up on her. She knocks on her door & waits for an answer.

In a cold tone, Mirai says's "Whoever that is go away!! & Leave me alone I'm not in the mood!"

"Young master it's me I just came to see how you are doing."

"I SAID LEAVE ME THE FUCK ALONE!!!!"

"As you wish young master I'll come back later or tomorrow."

Mirai waited a couple of hours until she believes everyone was sleeping or not around. She goes to the kitchen to fix herself something to eat & in the kitchen her father was waiting for her there.

"You finally show yourself." He says while laughing.

She says coldly "I'm not in the mood for talking nor do I need a prep talk either & if you're not here for that what do you want?"

"I'm hurt... a father can't check up on his daughter to make sure she's doing well?"

"Yea yea whatever you say pops. Get to the point already."

"There's nothing I need to say... well at least not now."

"Oh, why is that?"

"Because I know you're not mentally weak & this isn't your first lost."

"Where's mother? I'm surprised she hasn't come by."

"She wanted to give you some space & time to yourself."

"It'll be different tomorrow watch & see."

After Mirai made herself something to eat so decides to take a cold shower & head to bed & prep for tomorrow. The next day Amelia goes to Mirai's room & wakes her up & to check up on her.

"Young master it's time to get up training starts in 30 minutes."

"I know I know."

Mirai gets up & starts brushing her teeth & washing her face. She then heads to the training room & begins stretching. Soon as she's about to finish Amelia & Danny walk in.

"Morning lady Mirai"

"Young master it's good to see you in a better mood."

"Enough with the greetings & talking let's get to training already."

"Today's training will consist of cardio & endurance. Some fights can be decided on who has the better stamina & endurance." <Amelia>

"So do you plan on having us doing?" <Danny>

With a sinister expression, Amelia says "Oh you'll about to find out."

Danny with a worried look on his face says to Mirai "I think she plans on killing us."

"Oh, when I'm done with you two, you're going to wish that you were dead."

Amelia instructs them to the other end of the room to do some suicide running exercise.

"Oh, one more thing before I forget you'll both be training in 7x the normal gravity of this world. Mirai since you don't know I'll tell you this world gravity is 40x stronger than your earth gravity from where you were born now you may begin."

Amelia had both of them do suicides for 8 hours with a 45-minute break every hour. Both Mirai & Danny is extremely exhausted from that training exercise.

"Okay, that's enough for today. Do some cool-down stretches, take an ice bath then hit the showers & the rest of the day do as you see fit."

Huffing & puffing Danny says "Lady Mirai, I told you she was trying to kill us."

"Tell me about it," she replies trying to catch her breath.

"Tomorrow we'll be doing the same thing until both of you can do it with any fatigue."

Both Mirai & Danny leaves the room to take an ice bath, hit the showers & grab a bite to eat out in the town.
