I Became a Leader of a New Nation while in Exile

It was supposed to be a new, quiet, and simple life for 15-year-old noble boy Nate Wole, who was kicked out and exiled by his family for being too weak in favor of his older brother, Hertzel, a selfish warrior who cares only about himself and his skills in magic. Desperate, he traveled to the lowlands of Wooda, where while camping, he had an unlucky encounter with one of the collection of tribes of the Undead Animals, a bunch of hostile undead animals who can wield weapons and shapeshift into humans and were despised and hunted by humans. After getting killed by one of them under an Undead lion named Sati, Nate was saved by them after they regretted their decision to kill him, and Sati eventually gave his position as tribal leader to him. Nate was shocked to here that, but he has no choice but to accept it. And now, he is a leader of Sati’s lion tribe. Soon, he united the other Undead tribes under the new country name, Wooda, while studying to be a good leader, and changed his identity to Lloyd Lewole, completely vanishing his old identity in order to forget his past. But, will he handle such a great responsibility?

Chapter 56 – Since when?

Third person POV

"You traitor!" Hertzel scowled at Lloyd.

Because of his unreasonable and ridiculous claim, Lloyd was even more upset. "Since when I ever did that, huh? I'm 16, but I know what treason is. I'm out of your kingdom's jurisdiction, you know. That's absurd."

When Hertzel tries to be rational to his younger half-brother, Zeke comes forward and grabs him by his clothes. "Listen up, you selfish brat, your kingdom threw him out, and you still think he's within your jurisdiction? He's better with us than with your rotting kingdom. He's been ours for a year now."

The hero trembles a bit at Zeke's glare.

Sati and Zane came to the scene.

"Woah, that's why you shouldn't mess with one of the dragon tribe's strongest warriors."

Lloyd then unfolded his arms and looked at them. "Yeah, you're right."

Back at Hertzel and Zeke, Zeke said to him, "Now, get lost."

He then let go of him, causing the hero to fall to the ground.

Hertzel was angry and hostile at him and the others. "Fine, you damned animals. We're done here."

He then stood up and commanded his kingdom's soldiers, "Everyone, retreat and withdraw. Leave those who were being captured. There's no point of getting them back."

As Lloyd and his side watches, most of Langton's knights grabbed their weapons and withdrew from the battlefield.

To add a cherry on the top, Hertzel's party refused to come with them because they had enough of his slave-like treatment of them.

"Hey, aren't all of you going to come with me?"

Some in his party folded their arms, and they were resisting his authority over them.

 "We're done with you."

 "We're leaving as well."

The hero was pissed off at their complacency. "You traitors! If you don't comply with me, I'll tell the guild to have your licenses revoked!"

Because of that threat, Lloyd stepped in. "If you're going to do that, I'll issue new licenses of their own within my jurisdiction then!"

And then, Zeke stepped in, too. "And it's not just any license, we'll give them Dragon Platinum licenses as well."

Hertzel's party, or rather, Lloyd's childhood friends, didn't understand that concept at all.

Due to this, Hertzel was angry and cursed all of them, before turning around and storming off with his kingdom's remaining soldiers, ending the raid on Wooda's Undead bird tribe.

But now, Lloyd's childhood friends are being branded as traitors to their home kingdom by Hertzel.
