CHAPTER EIGHTEEN
"Cor! Cordelia! Wake up!" Said a voice, and I blinked open my eyes. Oh, hello, sun. I didnt know you were here today. Right in the eyes too - as usual. "merfht?" I asked, and my voice came out hoarse. Ah, right, everything was flooding back now. Suddenly, I lurched up, and promptly threw up seawater over the wall. Too much divine power, was, indeed, a wave - but that didnt explain why there was seawater in my throat. Ah, well.
who is that guy, by the way, Cordelia 2nd? the voice in my head asked, and I glanced at Levi. "Oh, that's Levi. He wasn't there originally, but, things kinda turned out like that. Anyway, you're Bog, right?" I asked the sky, and Bog clapped loudly in my skull.
so, the real creator of the universe, you know that too. I suppose I should be bowing to you. Bog said, and I sighed. "If only it was that easy. Anyway, thanks for the extra divine power. It'll come in handy." I said, flexing my hand. There was so much power in it now that it was hard to control - I couldn't normally light up just my hand anymore - my entire arm started glowing like a lightbulb.
"Cor! What's happening!" came another voice. I turned around to see Levi, with tears streaming down his face. "Oh yeah! I knocked out, right?!" I gasped, and Levi wiped his tears. "Do you know how worried I was?! I couldn't even do anything because of the curse!"
"......Ooops. Sorry. Also, what happened to the rats?" I asked, and Levi held out his hands. Oh. okay. RIP. "But you don't have to worry about the curse anymore! Here, hold out your hand!" I said happily, changing the topic, and Levi looked at me. "What are you doing to do?"
Ah. It had occurred to me too. I couldn't tell Levi, or he'd think I had lost my marbles - but even if he did believe me, that meant I'd be 100% at fault for everything he had gone through - and judging by that trash heap, it wasn't good things. Levi could never completely trust me.
"Nothing you need to worry about. Unwrap your fingers, and just trust me for now." I said. Levi hesitantly stretched out his fingers. His fingers were radiating a weird dark aura, but I couldn't smell anything. Huh. Anyway, my entire arm lit up, and I gently poked Levi's hand, a bit unsure about what to do. "Hey, Bog, a lesson would be helpful right now," I whispered under my breath, and Bog called, It's easy! just imagine pouring a glass of water on whatever you're purifying. Give it a try. Ah, a glass of water? okay. My imaginary hand reached out with a glass of water to slowly pour water on Levi's hand. Levi gasped. The dark aura was washing off, and splattering the dirt beneath my feet instead while sizzling and evaporating.
"Great! It worked!" I said, letting go of Levi's hand. "Behind you. Turn around." Levi said, glancing at something behind me, and then looking away. Huh?
And behind me was - you guessed it - a noble carriage. One that I had also seen in a lot of fan art. The carriage that Zal used to ride once he became duke.
"Huh. Would you look at that?" I said, slightly dazed.
