The shadows crept across the walls, and suddenly, there they were - creepy, glowing red eyes staring at me from the corner of the room. They inched closer with every step, repeating the chilling words, "I'm coming for you."
My heart raced as I fumbled to find the lamp switch. Closer and closer it came until, finally, Click! The lamp lit up the room.
I let out a long breath I didn't realize I'd been holding. The corner where those eerie eyes had been was now empty.
I started to question my sanity. Was it real, or did I just imagine it?
I tried to calm myself and get back to sleep, but it was hopeless. I spent the entire night wide awake.
When morning arrived, I splashed water on my face, trying to hide the bags and dark circles under my eyes. Those eyes had left me feeling incredibly uneasy.
"Oh, hello miss. I was just coming to find you," Hilda said as we crossed paths on my way to her workspace.
I stopped her and explained everything I'd seen.
"This is seriously confusing. What could it mean?" she asked, her eyebrows knitted in thought.
I slumped into a chair. "I'm telling you, it's all a big puzzle."
I ran my hand through my hair in frustration.
"What were you going to tell me?"
"Oh, right. Sir Aithne moved. He stirred and mumbled something. He asked for you, but it was barely audible."
I practically leaped out of my chair in shock and excitement. It seemed like a miracle had just occurred.
