Chapter 4 (A fairytale)

[This is the story of 3000 years ago …

This is a story of light versus dark …

This is the story of victory and loss…

This is the story of a hero who rose from ashes…

This is the story of brave ones who fought for others…

This is the story of sacrifices our elders made for us…]

As she started singing this rhyme in a loud tone I can see from her voice that this story held a deep significance in her heart and so I also started listening attentively.

[3000 years ago there was a war, a war that changed everything it changed everyone life's whether he /she was in that war or not.

This was humanity's greatest war, which is now called as "End war". The enemy was very strong, it was so strong that no one knew how to face such adversity, thus humanity had to ally itself with all other races and fought with their mutual enemy which was the undead Dragon "IZIRAN". You know it is said in legend that he was one of the strongest dragons to ever live in this world plane ever.]

As I heard that name, the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. It was the name that I hoped to not listen again this but this name was deeply etched in my heart; this was a very big surprise to me as I did not know how she knew that name and what was her relationship with him. I always thought that accursed war was the last time that I would hear his name was my assumption wrong? I became more alert. Seeing me listening to her attentively she giggled and started her speech once again

[Little Alan I see you are taking interest in the story good very good. then let me continue]

She took a deep breath and started

["IZIRAN" was a very evil creature and he was the ruler of an immortal army that was said to be made up of thousands and millions of odd creatures. Facing this army was like facing death itself as the army was made up of rotting crops of dead animals, monsters, and even fallen soldiers reanimated through some forbidden magic. The name of this army filled the hearts of their enemy with fear and all who faced them only meat with total annihilation, this army was called "THE ZALRID".]

From the looks of it she thinks Zalrid and Izarin an evil, this thought made me a little calm for some reason.

I stared at her as if I was trying to say with my eyes to continue the story, I wanted to listen to this story, as this story was something that is very closely related to me, I at the back of my mind I was also thinking maybe this story could help me understand what is happening to me or at least what happened after that war.

As she saw me looking at her with gleeful eyes she started reciting her story again

[the enemy was strong and it will not be an understatement to say that all hope seem to be lost, but that was the time that the great and noble king, had returned to his people after his pilgrimage and he proclaimed that he will end this war and the reason of this confidence was that he has acquired the holy sword Aranrúth in his hand, with the white glow of the sword and mighty aura of the king all the kingdoms saw hope again.]

[One who does cower amidst dark storms…

One who finds a way in dark starless nights…

One who rises to protect us…

One who steps forward to slay the enemy…

One whose sword fills enemy hearts with fear…

One who becomes the mighty and strength of his comrades

The one who brings light…

The one who brings hope…

The one who marches forward towards victory…

Strength like lions and wise like great sage…

The one who wields the holy sword Aranrúth …

He is our king, our savior, our hero…

The great King Reinfrid,]

As she recited this I was quite shocked, I was quite astounded with these lyrics and at the way she recited them, it seems that she has been reciting them since small.

She again took a look at me, and sighed as I was still not at all sleepy; so she picked up a glass of water from the bed table and took a sip of water she started again…

[When the king came, the immortal enemy cowered in fear, with the king in the lead and with the help of all other races as one we marched forward.]

[All the races sent their finest warriors in this war as this war was the one which could not only decide the way we live now it could be said to be the turning point of humanity and all other races combined…it can either be extension or survival… it can either be us or them.]

[The enemy wanted to cover this world in darkness and turn everyone into his undead minions and he had the power to back up his plans, he had dominated more than 30% of our continent already at the time war started and his plan could have come true if there was no Holy sword]

[The holy sword was like a weapon designed to kill the undead, it is said to have much power and it is said it could grant its wielder and his comrade's protection of the goddess, it said that sword was a work of great dwarf elder and was made of something that was out of this world and can only be wielded by the chosen one…]

[In the battlefield now known as 'forest of fate' both of the powers collided…]

She was going to continue but at exact this moment I fell asleep, I didn't want to fall asleep but m body was its limit as I had fought a large battle against thousand of soldiers alone and my eyes felt heavier than mountains and I fought it as I was too eager to listen but this tiny body gave up and I fell…

[Ah little Alan you fell asleep, I thought you would only fall after listening to the full story…]

As she tucked me inside the blanket and kissing me on the forehead she shut down the curtains and lay beside me on the bed slowly patting and creasing my head and humming a melody in a low tone…
