Chapter 23

Orion

We got to the palace and I took Odetta to our room. When we got to the room I placed her on the bed.

"Which side of your head did you hit?" I asked. And she looked at me confused.

"Ummm my head?" She asked and I laughed. She looked more confused.

"Odet what is wrong with you today, you must have hit your head pretty bad. Don't you remember?, you said you hit your head" I said.

"Ooh yeah my head, don't worry about it Orion. My head is healed" she said laughing nervously. What is wrong with her today?

"So what did you find about the missing demons?" I asked.

"I did not find anything Orion I was just attacked by an unknown breeze but we fought so I doubt any demon will miss again" she said. Breeze? Does breeze attack people?.

"Unknown breeze?? What is that?" I asked.

"I don't know Orion, I also found it weird" she said.

"How sure are you that no demons will miss again?" I asked.

"100 percent Orion. Now stop asking questions" she said irritated. She's irritated? By me? Something is definitely wrong but I can't pinpoint it. Did someone switch Odetta or did an evil spirit consume her. Since when does Odetta get irritated by me asking her questions she is the most calm person I know.

"Okay I will stop asking questions. Are you hungry?" I asked.

"Yes Orion. Order me some food and don't forget, I want a lot of meat in my food and also get the maids to come and bath me, my clothes are filthy" she said looking at her cloth in disgust. Maids to bath her?? Odetta doesn't allow maids to bath her, she bath herself and she is requesting for meat and not berries? Odetta eat berries everyday and all her food is with berries. This can't be Odetta. This Odetta right here is rude and obnoxious my queen is not like this. Something suspicious is going on with her.

"Odetta but you always want berries with your food why are you requesting for meat?" I asked.

"Orion why are you doing this yes I request for berries but I don't want it any more is it too hard for you to comprehend" she asked glaring at me. Something is definitely wrong somewhere.

"Lady florence see to it that Queen Odetta is brought her food with lots of meat and no berries. And tell the maids to come and bath their Queen" I mindlink lady Florence.

"I have mindlink lady Florence" I said. Then she smiled.

"Thank you Orion!" She yelled jumping on me. She wrap her arms around my neck and kissed my lips and I noticed something. I was feeling the sparks at the skin contact but I am not feeling the bond. The bond is not coming alive and swriling in happiness at our contact. I forced a smile pulling back.

"I want to go and attend to kingdom matters, I will speak to you later" I said not waiting for her response and leaving the room. I went to my study with so many thoughts in my head. Something is wrong somewhere because that Odetta is a reverse version of the Odetta I know. I entered my study taking the scrolls and keeping my mind off Odetta.

2 hours later

"My king!, their are some maids that is requesting for your presence!" A guard screamed from behind the door.

"Request granted" I said dropping the scroll I was reading I took an empty scroll to write somethings.. 3 maids came in. I looked up and I noticed that their arms and face were red and their clothes and hair was wet.

"Greetings your majesty" they greeted in unison bowing their head. I look down and continue writing.

"What seem to be the problem that you ask for me" I asked.

"It's the Queen your majesty" one of them said. That got my attention. I dropped the feather in my hand.

"The queen?, what about her" I asked focusing my attention on them.

"Your Majesty. We don't know what is happening to Queen Odetta, the 3 of us are her favourite maids. Madam Florence told us to deliver her food and bathe her and we were very happy to do it because Queen Odetta doesn't allow us to bathe her. Then we got to the royal quarters with the food and there was plenty meat , your majesty but Queen Odetta threw the food on the floor and she slapped us all and complained that the food was terrible and that there was not enough meat and she told us to make another food with enough meat. We cooked the food again and added a lot of meat but Queen Odetta still slapped the 3 of us while screaming we did not cook it early that she was very hungry. But thankfully she ate the food. Then she told us to prepare her bath with very hot water and we did your majesty. We added rose petals from the garden and put in jasmine so Queen Odetta could have a nice fragrance.

We called Queen Odetta to come have her bath, but we told her the water was currently very hot and she said we should still undress her. We all helped her remove her cloth then Queen Odetta complained about something smelling and she asked what we put inside the bath we were about to tell her when she suddenly gasped and said we want her to smell terrible then she pushed us in the still very water Your Majesty" the maid said. I was so shocked.
