Chapter 10

Odetta

   After we ate we retired to the bedroom and slept. After I made sure Orion was asleep I stood up, locating the center of the demon kingdom with my powers. I teleport there. I was invisible. Nobody can see me. The middle of the demon kingdom is the longest tower located in the demon kingdom. I have to break the witch spell since I am orion mate and the tribrid i can break it. I closed my eyes and concentrated. Tapping into all of my powers I opened my eyes and looked around. Okay nothing weird here… oh wait, i saw a black beam, I followed it. I continued following it then the black beam stopped glowing. 'That was weird' I thought. I can feel a strange dark power here. Someone is trying to hide something from me. I cast a spell and there it was. A cottage, an invisible cottage. I moved closer to the cottage. I knocked on the door and nobody answered. But the door opened, 'okay not creepy at all' i thought to myself. 

   When I entered the cottage everything seemed abandoned. It looked like nobody had lived here in years.

'Tribrid' a voice said. The voice sounds crooked and husky. I turned to the direction of the voice. I saw a woman who was wearing all black and her hair is whiter than snow, almost silver. She looks young but I know not to be deceived by her appearance. All in all she looks beautiful.

'Who are you? I asked

'My name is Gaia. Late king Castor mate. I was the witch your mate killed' she said in a monotone voice. 

'If he killed you why are you speaking to me, I know that this is not your real appearance. So show yourself witch' i said looking at her with a scorn. She smiled and she started melting her hair turned gray which proves how old she is, her skin wrinkled, she has a huge eyeball and her lips are so dry. Her body changed, her back shrank and she became short. She looks ugly what made her more ugly and hideous to look at is her white big eyeballs.

'I knew you were a smart one, I also know that this is not your real hair and eyes' she said. How does she know so much about me?

'How do you know me so well and why did you call me here witch' I said.

'Your mate Orion killed my mate. I decided to curse him. I didn't only curse his kingdom , I also cursed him. He will not be able to have a child. I made him and his kingdom fruitless but he does not know that he only thinks he doesn't want to mate with a woman that is not his mate. He thought he killed me but he didn't. I made him think that. The only way for the kingdom and your mate to be fruitful is if I die or uplift the curse. You and your mate can kill me but if you try to, I will curse you both. You also cannot command someone to kill me. But if you want me to uplift the curse you have to transfer half of your power to me' she said with an evil smile. This witch is really evil. I can't give her my powers. I am nothing without it and I still have to avenge my parents. On one hand is my parents, on the other hand is my future and my mate's future.

'witch this request you ask of me is not possible. I suggest you look for another request' i said distastefully looking at the evil witch. She looked me in the eye. I looked at her white eyes without removing my gaze. She is challenging me. She moved her eyes from me and laughed in an evil manner.

'I must say tribrid, nobody has ever been able to look me in the eye. Since you didn't agree to the first condition, the second condition is to hand me your first child when he or she is 5 years old. Agree and the curse will be lifted' she said. I looked at her with hate.

'Are you that wicked to separate a child from its mother? I asked glaring at her.

'Your mate killed my mate. If he was alive we would have been powerful! I wanted to be powerful! But your mate killed him!!' She was screaming hysterically. 

'If you don't agree with one tribrid. I will make this kingdom worse. I will place a terrible disease on the kingdom, so think again tribrid' she said looking more evil. How can i give up my child, will i be able to do it. I need my power and my child. If this woman gets my powers she will do so many horrible things with it. And if i don't agree she will kill innocents. With a heavy heart I said something I would forever in my entire life regret.

King Orion

  I turned in my sleep. I brought my mate closer. It has been so long since I slept so peacefully. I opened my eyes sleepily. Ugh! Too much light. Who light up my bedroom? I groaned .

'Odetta, why is the room so bright?' I said sleepily. I heard a feminine laugh.

'Open your eyes Orion' she said. I opened my eyes. It was too bright. I struggled to open it fully when I finally did. I looked outside. Is that sun?? I stood up in a rush and went to the window. I opened it and my lords. The whole palace was bright, with trees everywhere. I could see the children laughing. Everything looks so peaceful. I was shocked. How is this possible?. Odetta came to my side.

'H..how??' I am shocked and trying to process the information that after 200 years my kingdom is suddenly bright and filled with happy laughter.

'Nobody knows Orion, it just happened' she said looking outside. I was so happy. I carried Odetta and spun her around.

'Odet i am so happy! You did this. I am so glad I found you!' I screamed in joy while laughing happily and she laughed with me.

I should have known nothing came without a price. I should have noticed Odetta's laugh was not a genuine laugh.
