I'm the sister in the sequel

When I was 16, I came across a book that I became obsessed with reading almost every day. I was excited and anxious when I heard that the writer was in the process of writing the sequel. When it did come out, I read both repeatedly because I loved them, just like when I first read them. Dragons, magic, demons, and war romance are all you would want from a fantasy novel. When I got an opportunity to go to a book signing, I jumped with joy to get my favorite author's autograph. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for me that I worked extra hours even though I was still in school to save up and go. It wasn't long after I was on cloud nine with joy, but for some reason, I started coughing and couldn't stop even when the red liquid came out of my mouth as I coughed. I don't remember much after that. Most likely, I died due to something unknown.

People of stone pt 2

Time doesn't stop as I feel the air escape my lungs, and my body turns cold as the burning worsens. It hurts. Please, someone, make the pain go away as the pain rolls across my body, a burning, rolling cold in the pain. My flesh shreds into pieces while remaining whole. It Hurts!! It Hurts!! I don't want to die...

*SCREAMS*

"AIKO WAKE UP!!!"

Her painful scream and mournful cries twist his heart with regret and fear as he holds her in his arms. Her body shook as she shed her tears. Her mind becomes aware as she mentally returns to reality. His hands tremble as he holds her in his arms as she slowly breathes out, no longer trapped in the fear and pain-ridden terror of her dreams.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. It was too soon; I shouldn't have brought you along."

I felt awful having to deal with myself in that state. I was almost guilty, but I shook my head. No.

"no"

"Yes, it was too soon for you. You're a total mess."

He pushes my hair out of my face and hugs me close in a comforting manner as if to tell me it's okay and that I'm safe. Not that I don't already know that. It still feels excellent, so I can't help but relax slightly in his arms.

"It was my decision."

I looked at his face from the corner of my eyes and instantly knew he hadn't slept a wink.

"I was still the one who relented and brought you here."

"I didn't want you to be alone to see what happened here so that I would have come with or without your help."

*Chuckles softly*

"I suppose thats true."

Letting me go, he gently patted my head as I looked down, noticing that his other hand was covered in dirt. So I quickly leaned back, removing his hand from my head.

"Your hands are dirty."

He seemed a little surprised and realized that his hands were filthy.

"Oh yeah... sorry, I probably should have washed my hands before patting your head."

"It's okay... Why are your hands dirty?"

"I found some of the deceased that didn't turn to stone, so I buried them."

What?!

"You didn't have to do that by yourself."

"And let you be traumatized more? I'd rather not have you need even more therapy when you go to the Royal Academy."

"but..."

"No, buts. You being here is enough stress on me in the first place. I don't want to worry about you with people in an even worse state than the statues."

Yeah, I'm not happy to admit it, but I don't think I would have been able to handle seeing rotting bodies, considering that they have been rotting here for almost two months.

"You have a point."

"Of course I do."

Standing up, he walked to the bedroom door to leave.

"I will grab a few things, but we will leave before noon."

"Oh, okay."

I suppose this is a grim place to remain for too long.

Peering through the morning dawn stands frozen in time, the moment of terror as the cracking stone and remains of the dead lay buried close as the sky shows the decrepit moment of lives lost for the rest of its time in remembrance.
