Five Days I

Five days later…

A young man with slightly glowing glasses was currently holding a book in his hand, carefully reading the contents within.

The sound of swift flipping of pages echoed in the silent room.

It could be seen that the young man's eyes were able to follow the pages of the book even if its pages were being flipped at high-speed.

After a few minutes…

Pat!

Closing the book in his hand, the young man placed it on one of the piles of books that surrounded him.

"I'm finally finished!"

He slowly removed the glasses in his eyes, revealing the bags under his eyes.

The young man, or rather, Zen, looked at the piles of books that he had read in the past few days and revealed a satisfied expression.

All he focused on was to improve his skills and learn more information about this world. He also trained his body on the side. While he was not hoping to break the racial limit with training alone, it had already become a part of his habit.

And since he knew that Arthur had something planned for him, he did not plan on breaking the racial limit on his own. Although it would be nice if he did break past it, it was not something that he put his focus on.

'It's almost time huh…'

Zen only had one more day before he and his family departed.

'Speaking of which, I still don't know where we are going…'

After a while of thinking, he shook his head and decided to not think about it for the time being.

Zen picked up a cloth from the side and wiped the pair of glasses which had greatly helped him in the past few days.

'Luckily, teacher has something like this. Otherwise, it would have taken me forever to finish all these books.'

Zen thought happily as he wiped his glasses.

This pair of glasses was given to him by Arthur after he noticed that he wanted to know more information about this world in the shortest time possible.

At this moment, a sharp pain assaulted Zen's head which caused him to frown.

'Shit, it still hurts even if I've already experienced this repeatedly.'

He cursed in his mind as he slowly massaged his forehead with his fingers.

'It's good that I'm more used to it now though, unlike the first time…'

Zen thought of the time where he used the [Devoted Reader's Glasses] recklessly and could not help but suck in a cold breath. After all, remembering the headache that had almost caused his head to explode, who wouldn't be traumatized?

That was also the reason why he did not read all the books in one sitting and took rest in between. But even though it took a little bit longer, Zen was able to finish reading all the books that Arthur has.

'I really need to thank teacher for this…'

He decided that he would pay Arthur for all the help that he gave him.

Zen stood up and stretched his body.

During these past five days, he had obtained an enormous amount of information about this world.

One of the focuses of his studies was about the rise of humanity.

Zen discovered that since humans were able to obtain the so-called [Natural Weapon Arts], they have been able to fight back the other races that had majorly been hostile to them.

Of course, this would not be possible if all races had been hostile against humans. There were also some who had been friendly to humans since the start such as the Elves.

Although the Elves did not take any major actions to protect the humans, they did not actively enslave the humans in the past.

The history of humans really astounded Zen, it was one of the topics that really made him engrossed.

'We are born weak…'

'We have weak bodies and weak sensitivity to magic. We don't have any outstanding qualities besides having intelligence…'

'Even the system has its own favorites…'

'Therefore we didn't rely on anything else besides ourselves…'

'We had no choice…'

'We desperately worked hard day and night until all our efforts bore fruit…'

'That is how we managed to rise as one of the strongest despite being born the weakest.'

Remembering the lines from the book that entailed the history of humanity, Zen felt his blood boil.

The so-called [Natural Weapon Arts] signalled the start of humanity's rise. However, this also signalled the start of war between humans and other races.

The book did not have the details of the war. It only described it as something that almost made humans extinct.

Zen concluded that it was because the 'racial war' was something that happened long before the war with the Ancient Evil World that happened thousands of years ago.

This meant that it happened in the so-called 'Ancient Era' of this world. Thus, the records were lost with time.

'But since I haven't really searched any other place for this information, I can't be sure that it will also be the case for other places.'

Thinking that this matter was something that should be tackled in the future, Zen decided to put it in the back of his mind first.

He had to admit that the humans of the ancient era were very commendable and motivating.

'But… it could not be said to be the same as the humans of the present era…'

Thinking of this, Zen frowned uncontrollably.
