Intrigues of Youth and Potion
As she carefully sliced open the envelope and began reading, her eyes widened, and she exclaimed, "Sullivan wants to meet me!"
"What!?" Duke Caius nearly shouted, unable to hold his composure.
"Oh, I'm so happy!" Mabel said, hugging the letter tightly, too elated to register her father's hysterical reaction.
"Mabel, may I see the letter?" Duke Caius asked with a trembling voice, trying to rein in his emotions.
"Hmm... Sure, Daddy," Mabel replied hesitantly but handed the letter over.
Upon touching the letter, he detected a faint floral scent, which irked him. How old was Sullivan to give something like this to Mabel?
As he read the letter, his grip on the paper tightened, causing it to crumple. The contents were indeed true: Sullivan Verniges wanted to meet with Mabel and apologize for the incident at Reinhold's Garden Party.
"Oh no, Daddy, don't crumple the letter!" protested Mabel, trying to retrieve it from his trembling hand.
