"I'm not impressed." He said and Kalina guessed the laughter in his words. "Still." She returned, trying to match his amusement and completely failing. That man had a knack for annoying her, that was for sure. ¿Why? Kalina didn't know for sure. She felt a little stupid about the discovery, but there was something else. Something attracted her to him, that was undeniable.
The princess stepped forward, and the aura of power managed to shake Kalina to the point that she thought she was about to lose her balance. The energy shook them both to be clearer cause Irion had never seemed so tense in his life. Damn… And so Kalina and Irion bowed deeply.
The monstrous taboo energy was coming from the princess. There was no doubt. Was that why they called her the beastly princess? No, very few were able to perceive intrinsic energy. Was the nickname due to her size? This was the most likely reason. The truth was the princess's physique was intimidating.
Kalina had never felt so small, like a flea. And, had certainly never seen such an immense person.
"You may get up." The voice of the little servant was heard, but very far away.
The first princess was taller than Irion, ¡by two heads! Kalina tried not to show her astonishment as she emerged from her reverent position. Unable to help herself, she looked directly toward Her Highness. Once again, the blood-red hair caught Kalina's attention. Her Majesty was beautiful and imposing, her presence like a force of nature, and that power emanating from her...
Kalina was afraid to continue thinking. That power was overwhelming, almost terrifying. And yet, there was something there that she couldn't quite decipher. It was like a whispered call in her mind. Kalina recognized it with all her being. Meanwhile, she saw a small sign of surprise in the amber irises of Her Majesty. And so Kalina was compelled to make another reverent bow.
"My strength is yours, Your Majesty," Kalina said without being able to suppress her words.
"You may get up." The princess's voice did not disappoint: although it undoubtedly sounded feminine, it was slightly raspy and gravelly. It fitted her perfectly.
Kalina looked up. She didn't know if they were standing in front of a princess, a queen, or a goddess. A side glance at Irion showed him fully tense and impressed. And his boss was an expert at hiding his emotions.
The monsters can recognize each other... Kalina thought with some amusement.
"Your majesty, I hope you are healthy." The officer began by making another bow: "This humble officer wishes to introduce you to your escort. Here is the person who will accompany Your Majesty on the trip to Aladar. Her name is Kalina Dahius."
"Thank you, Hanyo." The princess said: "I will be in your care, Kalina Dahius."
"Your Highness, it will be a great honor."
Kalina spoke, surprised that Irion hadn't said a single word. What's more, he was as if petrified.
For his part, the officer began to explain the departure details, such as the time and meeting point of the caravan. All the time, the princess listened attentively, surrounded by a grave atmosphere.
"If everything is clear, with your consent, we withdraw now Your Highness." -The royal official announced to the first princess once he finished his explanation.
"One moment." - The officer seemed to be stunned when the princess spoke: - "I want to have a few minutes with my escort." - What did Her Majesty want from her, and why did it seem as if something extraordinary had just happened? -"Alone."- Her highness added in a tone that allowed no objection.
The royal officer blinked for a second, but in the end, he lowered his head and began to leave with his innate solemnity. Irion, for his part, just looked at Kalina for a second. Then he nodded and turned to find his way to the door.
