Chapter 6

Juliette.

"If you want to do it, it's up to you." I said, looking at her. Becca had agreed to continue her studies, and although she hates her father, he is right.

"He's right; for the first time, I agree with him," she declared, playing with her fingers. "My aunt has always helped me, so this time there are no impediments."

"I have something that makes me curious."

"Go ahead, ask."

"How did you hide for so many years?" Ask.

She smiled—my aunt helped me with everything; she hid me until I came of age." She looked into nothingness, but "thanks to her, I was able to receive psychological help. Without her help, I would not have been able to get to where I am today.

I nodded. “Everything makes sense now. ”I'm glad you had someone to lean on. Did you talk about this with Nath?

"Yes, he's happy for me that you made that decision," she replied, smiling. "They should hire someone else," she said, embarrassed.

"I know the girls are taking care of that." I put my hand on her shoulder. "Stop worrying about us."

"Even if I don't want to, it worries me. Leila only works four hours, and I know they will need more help."

"I know. Do you know why girls are in a bad mood?"

I felt it from the moment I arrived; the atmosphere was hostile. She seemed a little reluctant to mention it, but she nodded.

"Leila's sister disappeared; that's why she will be absent," she responded, rolling her eyes. "That brat thinks she's old enough to be independent of her."

"Did she escape? Why would she do that?" I asked worried; sometimes she came and she was kind.

"Probably just to make Leila suffer."

"And her parents, why don't they help her?" Asked.

"Her parents died five years ago; Leila is her only family; however, the brat doesn't care" she answers, annoyed.

She ⇛irem had an argument with her boyfriend; I don't understand why they are still together.

"Do you know him?" I asked curiously.

"I would like to tell you no," she sighs, "that idiot manipulates her at will." She's not stupid, but I know she finds it hard to let people go.

"Because?"

"Her mother abandoned her and left her with her grandmother, but she didn't understand why her mother only visited her every two months. Until she herself saw her mother with her new family, and that destroyed her deeply. "She looks at her from a distance and smiles." She is a strong woman.

"Why can't you stand it?"

"He's a perverted bastard; he wants irem to participate in a threesome."

I can feel that she is furious.

"I know he doesn't like to share; however, he's an idiot. He doesn't love her; he only cares about himself.

"Have you talked to her?"

"Of course, despite everything, she knows her limits, but I also know that she is going to hurt."

"You should trust her more; maybe what she needs is to find out for herself." She smiled at him. "What happened to Ava?"

"Ah, she ran over someone and was late." She begins to laugh. "She had never seen her so upset."

"Wow, really?"

"They are both fine; the man only has scratches."

I felt calm, knowing that it was nothing serious, but it was the first time that they had told me about my colleagues' problems. Each of them leads a hard life.

Irem

I was walking to my boyfriend's house to surprise him. I had this day planned for a month. Likewise, I open the door, and there are no lights on.

"I think I came too soon," he murmured.

However, I was wrong; I arrived in the room and found an unpleasant scene. I drop the bags I was carrying, and he looks at me calmly without saying anything. He smiles.

“You arrived, just in time,” he mentions, sitting on the couch with that woman.

"What is all this?" He asked, still standing. He pushes the woman aside and walks naked towards where I am. I take a step back.

"It's my birthday; this is my party," he smiled. It was the first time he scared me.

"Am I not important to you?" I tried not to sound hurt, but my voice trailed off. "How could you do this to me? We were supposed to have a serious relationship; I don't want an open relationship."

At this point, my tears fell down my cheeks. More, however, didn't seem to care.

"Why can't you please me this time?"

"Am I not enough for you?" —I asked sobbing.

"No, it's not what I want," he answered without hesitation.

My heart was breaking.

Why do the people I love the most abandon me?

—Sure, why don't you forget your damn traumas!" She yelled angrily "I'm sick of this. We're done; I don't want to see you again."

⇛You are going to have the freedom you long for, I can't believe I wasted my time with you. I thought that you would change with time and that you could love me, but that will never happen.

I wouldn't make the same mistake as my mother. Furthermore, I turn around and start walking away, without looking back.

After having walked aimlessly, I decide that it is time to return; however, I regret it when I get home and see Liliana with my grandmother.

"What are you doing here?" She asked, bewildered.

The last time I looked at her, I was fifteen years old and had discovered her other family. I was the one who asked him not to come back; my grandmother didn't know anything. She gets up and leaves my grandmother sitting.

"Do I have to ask your permission?" She asked, "As long as my mother lives, I will come to see her."

She had already admitted her feelings towards me; I was nothing to her. For years, I believed I was to blame; the damage she left me is too much.

"You don't have to be here," I replied, pushing her back. "Believe me, she doesn't want to make me angry, because if she does, I will go to her family to tell them the truth, her dirty secret," she warned him.

She looks at me indignantly. "You couldn't."

She smiled. "Try me; I am the one who benefits the most from your failure."

She bothers me; she comes closer to me. "I just want you to remember your place; you are the worst mistake I have ever made. No one will be able to love you," she said, leaving.

The worst thing is that I do consider every one of her words.
