Addict

It was dinner time and I was not paying attention to what my daughter was rambling about at the dinner table. The reason being that I was in deep thought thinking of what choice I will have with this open chance. The fact that I felt I had two choices available to me was very much thought inducing.

There were very many fictional characters I could choose to have their powers. One of them was my favorite a d classic Superman. A thought of maybe being a crime fighter, swooping in from the sky and saving the day was tempting, no, it was very very tempting. But this was the real world and the stress that would come with the job would break me. However, that kind of power would come handle in other situations.

As I was deep at thought, I felt someone touch my hand, prompting me to look up into the green eyes of my wife. She signaled to my left where I saw my daughter looking at me expectantly. That told me that she had been talking to me and wanted a reply to a question she probably asked. I turned to look at my wife who gave a subtle nod.

"Honey, why don't I help you with your science project today, huh? It's due on Monday, right?" she asked and our daughter sighed a little sadly.

"I wanted daddy to help me do it," she silently said. I took this as my moment to jump in.

"You know what honey, I'm gonna help you. It'll distract me from my thoughts for a while," I said and the way she beamed a smile at me let me know I chose correctly.

"Mrs Yang, the mean old teacher I tell you about, told us to make a homemade scientific experiment and bring it to her for evaluation. I can't wait to show her what we made, daddy," she excitedly said.

"Tomorrow!" my wife sternly said, making our daughter to deflate. "It's getting late and you young lady need to sleep."

"How about we make tonight movie night?" I proposed just as our daughter was half heatedly getting up from her seat. Hearing this, she perked up, looking at her mother expectantly.

"Sigh, fine. But I'm picking the movie," she said, giving me a warning glare. This was because previous me was not very good at choosing movies. Our daughter bounced off her chair and ran to the living room, throwing herself on the largest couch. I on the other hand helped my wife clear the table and wash the dishes. We engaged in small talk which was mostly her talking about her day at work and me pretending to mostly listen. Once we were done, she went to get us a duvet while I browsed the entertainment on the streaming platform. One thing I noticed was that the movies they had did not come close to the ones I was familiar with back in my Earth. So, I was genuinely interested in watching them.

Finally, she came down and we all sat, ready to watch. She decided to chose a movie about this homeless man who discovers a hidden laboratory in an abondoned sub way tracks. In there, he finds a pill that permanently increases his physique in body and mind to a point he rivals and surpasses the greatest minds in the world. It was action filled and full of great details it was actually enjoyable. It reminded me of Sentry a bit as the man could lift an entire submarine while escaping the military. It then clicked me that this was the perfect choice for the first chance I got.

I did not waste time and immediately asked for it. Immediately, I felt a great difference overcome me. I knew I had changed and it was so much I felt intimidated. However, I felt calm instantly which was a perk of this drug enhancing my brain leading me to having a brain greater than body.

"You alright, babe?" my wife asked me and I turned to look at her, smiling gently as solutions to my predicament came in droves.

"Yeah, I think I just solved our issue," I told her, which made her smile back at me brilliantly.

We watched to more movies then sent our daughter to sleep. I asked my wife to head on I would join after her. Once alone, I took my laptop and started studying from high school lessons to masters level.

It was crazy just how fast I was reading and actually comprehending everything. The person I got this power from showed great photographic memories to even kinesthetic reflexes. He could multitasknon skx different problems and solve them without losing focus which made him a nightmare to the military sent to retrieve him and a sample of his blood. His muscles had become so dense he could withstand high calibre bullets within a day. His senses continued growing to a point he could rival animals with the best senses on earth! His running speed went from six miles an hour to two hundred miles and hour at the end of the movie. The crazy thing was this drug would continue enhancing him the more he continued living which meant he could possibly reach levels of a Viltrumites even!

I didn't know it but I had spent an entire night just devouring knowledge and now it was morning time. My wife broke me out of my concentration with a tender kiss on my cheek. Her scent which was a mixture of lillies, sweat and morning breath hit me hard. But, I didn't let it show on my face, I smiled back at her.

"Sorry, I was just doing my research," he said as she coiled her arms round my neck, peeking at the laptop.

"I can see. Nuclear physics, huh? I always thought you were the jock type," she joked. I laughed back as I slowly closed the laptop.

"I was trying to find where the money is and I can honestly say I have found it. Hopefully next week I will get an offer that will elevate us from struggling to unbothered," I assured her, kissing her hand gently.

"Don't go making promises you can't keep," she laughed back before heading to the kitchen and I had the pleasure to see her posterior swaying in my sweatpants. My virgin self couldn't help it and I was at full mast in seconds. I got up from my chair and went to her just as she opened a kitchen drawer. Slipping my hands round her waist, I kissed her neck suggestively.

"Whoa, whoa, hold your horses, cowboy. We do not live alone here," she warned me but I knew our daughter was deeply asleep in her room, I could hear her soft snores.

"Don't worry, she's not getting up anytime soon," I whispered in her ear before turning her around and then lifting her by her armpits, enducing a surprised yell from her, and putting her on the counter.

"What's gotten into you?" she asked in a whisper as she put her legs lightly round my waist.

"I'm filled with the prospect of a new beginning and want to celebrate with my wife," I answered as I hungrily started kissing her.

She reciprocated, just as hungry as I was. It was because she had pent up stress, I realized. Turns out, the conversation we had the previous day had been recorded and I could remember it word to word even though I wasn't paying attention. Realizing I was about to start rambling, I turned all my attention to her, discarding any distracting thoughts I had. And, my virgin soul felt like I was in heaven. I felt every single bit of action we had; from her playful bites, the way she moved her tongue in my mouth, how unrepolsively sweet she tasted even if I knew she hadn't brushed her teeth, the way her fingers moved in my back, how her muscles tensed and untensed with every teasing I did. I let her take the lead for I didn't know what the fuck I was doing and it turned to be the best decision for she rocked my world for thirty minutes. I didn't know I could be out of breath any more but she took my breath and intoxicated my soul. I was enamored with the way she moved her body and I realized one thing, she just got me addicted to her!
