Hero and Death

<p>The scenery of the city being scorched, screaming can be heard, begged for mercy from a god in the form of a man in the sky.Thousands of men are pleading and crying. "Please forgive us for our mistake! Allow our women and children to see another day!"Beep! Beep!"Another bad dream, babe?" said a beautiful woman while doing her make-up.The sounds of chatting and vehicles can be heard clearly for the man who just awoke to the alarm. The man who looks young and healthy is possibly only in his early 20s.He was wiping his sweat while panting."It's nothing, babe. Just some of the same dream had the other day," said Victor.Vanessa's eyes focus on the mirror, glossing her lips. "Alright, babe, look, I gotta go to work, alright? Vanessa said. "See you at lunchtime?Victor, getting up from the bed, looks at Vanessa with a smile. "Sure, I'll meet you later at Crissados's." Victor said. "Oh, I forgot to tell you last night. I'm going to be back home late today, alright? For my promotion."Without reply, her back can be seen leaving the door. Although it was supposed to be a good day for Victor's promotion, for some reason Victor feels uneasy."Be optimistic, Victor! You got this!" intend to light his own mood for the day. In less than half an hour, Victor decided to get a coffee at his favorite cafe down a few blocks from his apartment. The day was chilly, as the showering bits of snow can be seen, but the cold seemed to not bother Victor at all. Right before the last corner to arrive at the cafe, Victor catches a few sounds that seem distressed. At the back of the alley, two men can be seen harassing an elderly woman. Rubbing his eyes, Victor shouted. "Ayy! Sh*tSacks! What are you guys doing to some old guy in the morning?Shockingly turn their heads back. One of them pulled up a gun. "This ain't worth the time, kid. F*ckin go before I put some in you!"Without fear, Victor walks calmly andBang!!In shock, the two started to back off. "What the f*ck are you?! " Another shot was fired.Victor patted his cloth and sighed. "Alright, I'm going to be late for coffee and work, so just scram off, alright?" Victor said. Two jabs hit the men's faces and sent their bodies flying straight to a car.Offering his hand. "You good? old man."Taking his time to stand up. "Are you the one people call 'Heroman'? the old man asked."Nah, that's not me." Victor replied.In this world, there is a superhero called Heroman who is able to fly up to the sky, carry an elephant with one hand, and even shoot lasers out of his eyes. Victor, as a kid, also said the same thing to his parents. He wanted to be a hero, but because of this hero's existence, he decided to live peacefully. In the first place, Victor landed in a tiny spacepod on an abandoned field in Africa. Two geology students found him. At first, it makes the two of them scared because the baby inside the pod has reddish skin, but after a few seconds, A blue light scanned the two students bodies, and they were surprised. The baby's face and body changed. The baby face somehow morphed into the mix of this student's tan skin, hair, and eyes as well. Fast forward 24 years; the baby back then was Victor. Victor Kyorouma.<br/>In a busy office, a man with an average-built body walks at a fast pace toward Victor. "Kid! Did you finish the damn report I asked for?" The man said it angrily.Putting on an awkward smile. "Yeah, I put it on your table last night, Perry." Victor answered. Carefully not raise the heart rate of the man in front of him.Throwing a few pieces of paper at Victor's face. "You called this done?? What the hell is this?! The new intern can even do better than you!" Perry shouted.<br/>It is not even my job, dumb*ss. Although I'm trying to maintain coolheadedness, I just don't understand what this man wants. He became like this after hearing about my promotion. I can even see his heart and how his own bloodline got clogged in his lungs."Alright, Perry, I'll just do it again, alright?" I replied nonchalantly.But at this moment, I felt a weird presence—a fear that I had never felt before. I can hear the people in the office mumbling about something. I turned my eyes to what they were focusing on. The news shows a big meteor enter and how Heroman saves earth by shattering it. But I can feel it—something everyone can't feel. This pain is in my ear, and it is slowly reaching my heart. I'm gasping and can't take any breath; it's impossible. I don't even need oxygen. I even flew to space before. I can feel my veins almost pop up. Everyone gathers around me in the office."Someone call 911! Victor, have a heart attack!"The next thing you know, I died. Am I in heaven? This place is bright; it looks just like those chapels you saw on the internet, except it is better. I can't use my strength, and I can't fly either. I had thought to slice the door with my heat vision, but nothing came out. I'm really dead.Confused. "Hahahah! Wow, I'll never die hahaha!" I laughed and regretted it. I was supposed to eat lunch with my fiancé. Suddenly, a beautiful melody can be heard; it has a mixture of piano and light-sounding violin that was played by the best violinist. Something appeared; it was huge. Is it God? Until a high-pitched voice can be heard, It sounded like a chipmunk inhaling a lot of helium. I didn't think God could make it sound so funny."You've died, my child," said the being.I waved my hand in the air. "Obviously, but it can't be."A few lovely glitter pieces can be seen floating around this being. "How can you be so certain that you can't die?" he asked."I literally never got ill or bled in my life. I even flew to the moon on occasion because I'm bored." I replied while having a confused face.A tiny swirl forms, and the being morphs into the form of a child. "I know who you are and what you are capable of. The last son of Vilton. The strongest race that protects the universe in my stead. Your race was fighting against a planet that was identical to your race, which led to your planet's doom. Your parents, King Kul-ka and Queen Sal-sa, died to ensure your safety."I can't get my mind to focus, but I am simply curious about the words he said. "What do you mean by identical race?" I asked the being.Suddenly, a scene appears in front of me. A horrible sight of cities destroyed, people screaming, and one man standing there with a red flurry of eyes, and I recognize that suit, it's Heroman.Before I could say anything, it was being said."Yes, he is the one who brought planet Earth to its demise. Everything and everyone you cared about got enslaved by him. Just like you, he is the last son of planet Burnbrigh. They are a species that is unsatisfied for power," the being said.Holding my chin, I asked. "So why did you bring me here?"The being, who now looks like a child, broke his finger and threw it up to the sky."In this timeline, you were supposed to be the savior of this world, but because of something that Heroman did, you died early." the being said, and look at me. "Do you remember how you died?"All I can remember is that I heard high-pitched sounds, and suddenly my heart stopped."I heard a sound," I replied.The being pushed my forehead, and suddenly I'm floating, and a few huge stones appear in front of me."This is called the ivil stone. It can only be found on your home planet; normally, it's a stone that can't harm you but simply weakens you to the state of a human, but somehow this hero knew about you, or more precisely, what ran in your vein. 'The blood of an absorber' allows you to absorb life force and strengthen your abilities beyond their limit." The being smiled.I slowly float around the image that is supposed to be the blood."Meaning?" I asked."Meaning you are stronger than anyone in your race if I want to compare to it, if I remove my omnipotent powers and fist fight you. I will definitely lose. Your strength constantly  grows."The being replied. "I have a proposal."Proposal? Am I going to be some God-errand boy now?"What is it?" I asked.The being folded his arm and said, "I can bring you back to life and save the world before it meets its demise."It seems like a good offer, but isn't it a bit suspicious to get a second chance just like that? The catch might be big. It's not like I don't want to be a hero; at least I can save people that I love. My parents, my friend, and Vanessa. Well, what else can I lose, right?"Fine by me, but may I know what you want in return?"I was quiet for a second, and I felt the same fear as my dream, so I chose to ignore it."Simply protect the world in my stead. Just like how your people once did for me." The being replied with a very big smile. "Well then, once I snap my fingers, You will wake up again in the office, and it makes you feel a bit nozzy. Okie? "I can't think of the words yet. "wha-"I can hear words, but not from the office. Did God make a mistake?? Where the hell am I? This place is filled with stores, or is it called a market? Something is weird about these people. One guy has horns on his head! That lady has a lizard tail, and those children have cat- and dog-like faces. The next thing I heard was screaming."Ahhhh!! There is a pervert!" said the lady with the tail.I ran and accidentally bumped into a small girl. The girl was probably between the ages of 9 and 10. The girl shook her head."Mister? Why are you naked?" She asked while covering both of her eyes.In my head, I have a lot of questions, and I don't know how to reply to the girl."Are you lost, Mister?" the girl asked. "Come follow me."Without a word while covering my bum, I followed the girl to a very small house at the end of the district. I can see a very old lady; maybe it is the girl's grandmother. The place looks very worn out, yet it feels comfortable enough."Ah, who did you bring, Melina?" the lady asked while holding a fruit that resembled an apple.Melina put down the bucket that she held and replied. "This Mister seems lost and poor. I decide to give him some clothes that Papa left behind."I can hear the heartbeat from the grandmother starting to calm down."I'm sorry for intruding, Grandma."I replied while bowing my head.The grandmother continued peeling the skin of the apple like fruit. "It's alright, my Melina is just a very kind girl."Melina came out of a room and handed me a piece of cloth and a pant. I quickly wore it and gave my thanks.<br/>"Uhm, Grandma, may I know where we are?" I asked with a smile.<br/>Melina laughs before interrupting her grandmother. "Mister, are you serious? You don't know this place name??"The grandma quickly slapped Melina's arm and replied. "Don't interrupt when adults are talking, Melina. Where is your manner? By the way, young man, the name of this town is Tilasia if the country is called Mortianness." She looks at me up and down. "Are you a noble?"As I'm trying to process all the things Grandma said, The words Noble confused me."Noble? Haha, what are you talking about, Grandma? This is not some 15th-century stuff. Or is it?? "Wait, things are getting a bit deeper for those people outside, those children with animal faces. I thought it was just some weird cosplay things that I saw on the internet.The grandma handed me the fruit that she peeled and asked me to wait for a moment. Melina came close to me, and she began to ask me what my current level was."Level?? What level?" Well, it is not the thing that I need to focus on. I noticed the heartbeat of the girl beside me rising. I guess she is excited to know about my level."It is level 1..." I sighed and asked. "How about yours?"She looked at me with a big smile and said, "Melina Level 10 now!"The kid looked happy while putting both her hands on her hips. I can hear the grandma's footsteps slowly approaching, probably because of her old age."Here is something for you to learn about this place." The grandma gave me a very warm smile. "I'm going to make some drinks for you; it just takes your time to read it."Everything seems slow, and I intend to collect as much information as I can. It took me no more than 10 minutes. I finished reading everything, and from what I know, this planet is big, the map itself is big, and after the war 100 years ago, a few races tried to unite and coexist. Those races are made of humans, angels, demons, dragons, elves, beastmen, and a few more. Even after the war ended, everyone still strives to be strong in their own way; some probably already chose to live in peace, but some still pursue strength. After the war ended, a mysterious being came and bestowed a power that allowed weak races to advance themselves, and the power was called System. It allowed everyone to gain extraordinary abilities. Although a few lines said the power that was granted was the same as the power of the Demon King who wanted to conquer the world 100 years ago, Well, this is the information I can gather, but how do I go back? to earth? to my family?"Here is your drink; I made it from the same zapple that you ate." Grandma sat down on the chair. "Did you finish reading it?"I closed the book and asked."Yeah, Grandma, can I ask you a question?""Yeah, just ask away, young man." Grandma replied.I hesitate before continuing."Do you know who can do magic that is able to send someone somewhere else?" I asked.That sounds straight out of a Japanese comic, and it makes me cringe. The grandma's eyes widened."There is someone who possibly can, but those kinds of magic that control space and time are usually only used by arch mages, and the one that I mentioned is one of the most important in the country, Princess Elizabeth, and it is not easy to meet those noble young men." Grandma said, and she immediately became slightly nervous.Damn! the country, Princess?? How am I going to go back home and force her?? I don't want to start a war with the whole country. Right before my thoughts swallow me, Melina, who stood beside me, said."Grandma Isn't there a tournament that the nobles hold in the city every year, and the winner of the tournament can be granted a wish from King Abraham?" said Melina.If it is just that, then I can go back home, as I feel excited and asked."Where is the tournament? Can you show me the way?" My eyes shine with light.Grandma gave me a smile. "Slow down, young man; the tournament will be held next week in the city." She explained. "How about this? You are lost, right? and you need to meet the princess. I'll let you live in my house for a few days; just think of it as a little  trip."I felt a bit bitter. "Don't worry, young man, we go to the arena once a year as well to sell the goods and clothing. So just be patient, alright?."</p>
