Fifty-Six

"WHEN HE WAS A PUPPY I THOUGHT HE WAS LIKE A black Snowflake, so it made sense. But then he grew so damn much and it's funny to call him that now," and he said I was the adorable one. "He's six years old now, it was a birthday present from my parents. My sister also has one, although hers is identical to mine except that he is white, and she called him Stardust."

"Wholesome," I said smiling with my lips closed so shampoo wouldn't get in.

"Close your eyes harder," I did as he said. Then he kindly took me under the water again and washed the shampoo off my hair, massaging my scalp. "You have a really beautiful hair, Hope."

"I have good genes."

Jay chuckled with my egocentric comment, "Well, then I guess our children will me twice as blessed." He sure does know how to make me blush. "Which hair cream you want to use? Lemon with honey, or strawberry with cinnamon?"

"Which scent you likes more?"

"When I used them, I kind of mixed them together. It smells amazing. Can I do that?" A nod. "Okay," he then came in front of me and whipped the water from my eyes, "you can open them now."

The first thing I saw was his chest, then I looked up to see his face as he passed the cream in my hair. "Can I wash yours?"

"Of course, but aren't you too short for that?"

"I can use my telekinesis to get up in the air enough to be able to wash your hair, devil," he chuckled with my words. "Is sister-in-law tall too?"

"Yes. She's around my mouth. Quite taller than you," God's above, their parents must have been both giants for that.

"Bloody hell, are all people in the north tall like this? That asshole also is quite tall, a lot taller than me at least," which already is too much, since I'm beyond the average female height of the south.

A nod, "Most people in the north are tall, but my family is considered taller than most. Obsidian is actually on the average male height there, I'm above it, as you can tell."

"So, the north is a land of titans, hm?"

Jay chuckled, "Compared to the other people in the Kingdom, yes. Followed by the east, Reverdin's territory, then the south, the Royal Capital, and the west."

"Princess Alina is taller than most girls on the Capital though. I think she might even be an inch taller than me."

"Probably. But that's fine, Dylan's is tall as well, he's shorter than me by three inches or something, but he's still taller than most guys in the Kingdom. Taller than you, and then the Princess," he really knows a lot.

"How tall is the Duke Luc?" In the book he was described as being taller than everyone in the story, but seeing Jay, it's hard to see someone taller than him.

He tilted his head to the side, "He's actually around my height to be honest," oh?

"Okay, that's a lot!" As he was done with my hair, I used my magic to get up and be around three inches taller then him, so I could wash his hair better. "Give me the shampoo, please," he did and I began to massage his hair with it. "Are you… close to him?"

It took him sometime to answer, "Kind of, yes."

Then how didn't he appear in the novel, for fuck's sake. "Are you part of any noble houses under House Von der Meer?"

"No," that makes it even harder.

"Was he really hit by a lightning?"

Jay laughed at that, "Yes. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? But yes, when he was around 9 to 10 years old he was hit by a lightning and spent one day unconscious, then he was okay the next day. As if nothing had happened."

"I knew that, but I wanted to hear your version of the story. Everyone knows how he got touched by God, and his powers doubled. Something like that," I know it detailed because it's in the novel. I washed the shampoo from his hair, and he passed the cream mixture to me, so I passed it in his hair carefully, massaging his scalp. "So, you know how to sing and play instruments, hm?"

"Well, my parents loved music, and they passed that down to me and my sister. So, from a very young age both of us always competed to see who could sing and play instruments better. Or how many instruments we could master, and stuff. But I haven't really played since my parents passed away."

"You must have had an amazing family growing up."

A nod, "I was certainly blessed with them. Both my parents and my sister, even though we used to bicker a lot. My parents were the best I could have ever asked for, and made sure me and my sister had a childhood as amazing as possible."

"It sounds amazing. And I'm glad you were able to have that. I don't wish a childhood like the one I had," both in this life and in my past one, "to no one. Not even my enemies. It's the type of thing that fucks our psychological deeply." When I finished, I got my feet on the ground again and look up to him, "But it's alright, because it could have been worse. Mari did her best to give me some good memories, and those are the ones I want to remember."

Jay kissed me softly, but I could tell how annoyed he was, "Yes, let's focus on the good side. And take revenge on those who made you go through all of that shit later. They won't get out unpunished. They won't get out of this."

Then we proceeded to wash our bodies, and when we were done, he wrapped a towel around me, and then wrapped himself on another one.

"You have me now, okay? I'm here for you, with you. Whatever you need or want, just tell me. If you want to cry, I'll be here for you. If you want to talk, I'll let you borrow my ears. Even if you just want a tight hug, I'll be here to give it to you," he whispered, as I sensed his eyes on mine, then kissed me. "You can count me. You can lean on me. You can trust me."

The way he noticed I'm insecure and anxious about these things and keep trying to assure me that I'm okay and everything will be better now that I have him, really makes me fall even harder for him. He's more than I ever wanted. More than I deserve.

I just hope I'll be able to make him happy as well. "I'm here for you too, Jay. I'm not the best at expressing my feeling, but I'm here for you too. And like I did yesterday, whenever you need, just tell me and I'll protect you!"

He touched his forehead on mine, smiling, "You are the most adorable creature on the world," then he kissed me. "Okay, whenever I'm in danger, I'll tell so you can save me with your shadow magic, and turn my enemies into dust."

I'm glad he didn't act as if I was harmless and would be able to defend him, and actually recognized how much I can actually do to save him if needed. "Your enemies are my enemies now. If they try anything funny, I'll kick their asses."

"Please, do. I'll love to be saved by you. It's sexy how strong you actually are, even though you look harmless," he whispered on my ears. "It makes me want to do dirty things to you."

When I let my eyes wonder down his hips, I could tell he was hard, and that made me gulp. "You promise me you will come back soon from the north, Jay?"

"I promise!" He held my face in his hands, making me look at him, and kissed my lips. "Now, you should get dressed. I'll teleport to my chambers so they won't notice I slept here with you, and then I'll come here when I change clothes, okay?"

A nod, "I'll wait to go down with you."

Jay kissed me once more, nodded and put a some space between us. "I'll be right back." Just like that, he disappeared, leaving a thin scent of magic behind.
