Chapter 42: Fallen in Love With You

He took her home and laid her carefully on the bed. He was worried thinking that it was something serious, The Doctor had said before he left that she fainted due to much cold. All Arnold thought about was what she said to him, he didn't know what to say to her when she wakes up and he didn't want to hurt her either.

An hour passed and Jenna was awake, she opened her eyes to see Arnold with a tray of food.

She sat up right as she looked away from him, she didn't know how to face him after what had happened. She was filled with different emotions and she told him about the feelings she'd been hiding.

She was scared of what he might say to her, she was scared of losing a man she truly love.

"I brought you food."

"Why wasn't he saying anything concerning what I said to him last night?." She said to herself as she studied him.

"You should eat." He sat beside her with food on his lap. He just acted like nothing happened yesterday , he acted normal.

"Open up." He brought a half spoon of food to her mouth and she just stared at him feeling hurt.

"I..I'm sorry for last night." She lowered her gaze as her eyes became teary.

"Hey, stop." He lifted her chin and wiped the tears off her face.

"I just couldn't hide it anymore, it was just too much." She couldn't look him in the eyes so she just wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him really tight.

"I'm not angry with you and I don't blame you for anything." He hugged her and kissed her head.

"Please don't ever hate me, I had promised to take care of you for a month and I'd leave afterwards. I know nothing can ever happen between us and it's all okay just please let me take care of you, you're a good man and you deserve to be loved, you need to experience what it feels to love a person. It might not be me but .." she broke down, he didn't say a word but he just hugged her tight and stroke her back.

Later that day Arnold took her to the park to make her feel a little better, She sat watching children play and run around the field .

She turned around but couldn't find Arnold anywhere, she looked around checking where he went just then she felt someone tapped her at her back, then she turned around to see Candy floss in front of her.

"Arnold?." She tilted her head to see him hiding behind it.

"I was looking for you." She said.

"I went to get this, I thought you'd like it." He gave it to her then he led her to sit at a bench.

"Thank you." She held his arm and rested on his chest.

After a while he heard her chuckle. "What is it?." He asked.

"Look at those two children, they are fighting over the swing." She halted as she watched them from afar.

"Look at the other one there! She can't even ride the bicycle but she took glitter from her older brother." She pointed and Arnold couldn't help but notice how beautiful she was.

"You really love children , don't you?." He said to her then she turned to look at him.

"Yes,they are all adorable." She nodded with a smile.

"You know I've always pictured how it'd be like to have my own children. I mean after getting married and all of that." She looked down at her hands when she remembered about her condition. It would really ruin things for her.

"Do you believe in love?." Those words echoed in her ears as she looked up at him in surprise not believing what she had just heard.

"Love is ever real, you just need to open your heart and mind to embrace it, You would never know when you fall in love but always know that true love hurts." She said all these words from her heart, somehow she felt a connection with him, she wanted to tell him about everything that was going on with her right now but she felt it wasn't the right time.

Arnold felt quiet for a while as he watched the children play.

"I need to tell you something."

"What is it?." He asked with his brow raised.

"We'd be having a school function in the woods and I don't know if you'd be willing to assist." She looked down to her hands.

"What would I be doing there?." He asked.

"You'll just have to team up with me." She halted.

"What I mean is, we'll be going for a school treasure hunt. It's just for fun, I'd accept it if you said no." She forced a smile.

"When is the event?." He asked.

"It's just two days away."

"I've got somewhere important to go to Jenna, maybe next time." He studied her face and saw disappointment in it.

"It's fine."

"So how do you like this place??." He liked around.

"I love the kids here and everything other thing, you know there was one time I went to the park and wanted to try something fun but I ended up falling hard on my butt." She chuckled.

"You wouldn't know anything about it cause you don't know the meaning of fun." She rolled her eyes away.

"You could teach me and i might turn out to be better than my teacher." He grinned but it didn't last long, his smile disappeared when he saw her smile fade away.

"Are you comfortable with me? Knowing that I've fallen in love with you??.

"I will always be happy having you around me, You're just something different Jenna." He glanced back at her.

"Tell me if you find me attractive." She needs she wasn't that attractive like the lady she saw him with but still, she just needed to know what he thought of her.

"You're beautiful Jenna." He grinned.
