CHAPTER 4

After arriving at Zaban City me and Gon started to look through everything and going to every store I bought a black bag that was waterproof a pair of clothes consisting of a lightly cropped light brown and a grey sweater, black and light brown trousers, a pair of undergarments and few necessities.

Then Leorio shouted to follow them properly and not get lost. After walking for a while the guide told us that we reached the place the exam will be held.

Then all of them started to look at the big building in front of them in amazement and started talking to themselves.

Then the guide told them that the restaurant beside the tall building was the place. All of them were embarrassed for a while and I just laughed at them.

After we were left by the guide in the elevator-like room Leorio and Kurapika started to argue again and dragged me and gon to choose if money is the reason to become a hunter or great achievements. Honestly, most are in for money and fame and not for a righteous reason. Right at that moment the room stopped and opened its door relieving me and gon from Leorio and Kurapika's debate.

A cute little bean came and gave us our tags.

'406 huh' I thought.

Then a fat middle aged man plastering a smile that he thought was welcoming came to us.

'Tompa "the rookie Crusher" I really wanted to break his nose when I watched the anime.' I thought.

"Yo first time seeing you here", Tompa said.

"you can tell it is our first time?", asked Gon.

"After all this will be my thirty-fifth attempt." Tompa said.

"thirty-five!!", said everyone shocked including me though I was only acting.

"Well, you could I'm a veteran." He said proudly.

"It's nothing to be proud of. "I said

His smile twitched.

Then he started to talk about other applicants. Then all of a sudden scream of an applicant was heard.

"Oh, how peculiar… his arms seem to have become flower petals. No smoke and mirrors here. When you bump into someone you really should apologize~" The clown-like person said.

"wow", I said out loud. Hisoka glanced and smirked at me then turned away. I froze for a sec then I heard Tompa say

"hisoka contestant number 44."

" last year he almost killed an examiner whom he didn't approve of." said fearful Tompa.

"What?? they are letting that psycho retake the exam?" asked leorio.

"Yes, even the devil could pass the hunter exam if the examiner allowed it. Anyway here for the start of our friendship," said Tompa and gave us orange juice.

I just took it and didn't do anything. Then Gon spurted the juice saying it was expired and the other two too didn't drink the juice and Tompa went away making excuses.

Just then a weird alarm rang and the wall before us rose up and a tall, slim man having light purple hair with a mustache and purple suit came and started speaking without a mouth.

'I always wondered how this man spoke without a mouth or did he have such thin lips that the mustache covered it.'

While I was thinking that the examiner had already started going forward.

3rd POV

"The entry period for hunter applicants has ended. The hunter examination will now begin!"

"A final caution if you're short on luck or ability keep in mind that there is a chance you could end up injured and death is even possible. If you're still hesitating please kindly exit by the elevator located behind you. Right then very well all 405 applicants will now participate in phase one."

Then the examiner started to march forward then slowly picking up the pace.

"How rude of me I neglected to introduce myself. I am Satotz your examiner for the 1st phase of the exam it's my responsibility to lead you to the 2nd phase."

Then someone asked what about the 2nd phase.

"The 1rt phase is simple all u have to do is follow me to 2nd phase so try to keep up." said satotz.

"so all we have to do is follow u?" asked a contestant.

"That's right, I can't tell when or where we will arrive u only need to follow me." informed satotz.

Mia POV

"I see how it is " said Kurapika.

"This exam is weird.", said Gon.

"This sounds like an endurance test to me. That's right up my alley keep running my pal I'm right behind u." smugly said leorio.

I didn't say anything to them I stopped to change my footwear as I forgot to change my sneakers to my skates, oh and they change into normal shoes too. After that, I joined them again.

"Hey, u changed to skates Mia?", asked Gon.

"Yeah I didn't want to get tired that early on the exam.", I replied smiling.

"Hey u brat that's not fair u run too.", said leorio.

"So what of it u run I skate.", I replied.

"Wha.." "Oh, come on it's not a big deal right look that boy over there is using a skateboard too.", I said pointing to killua.

'He he I so wanted to talk with him earlier when I saw him now I get to talk with him.' I happily thought.

"Hey, wait up kid how about u show a little respect to this exam!", yelled leorio.

"What do u mean?", asked killua.

"I mean stop using that skateboard. That's cheating.", said mad leorio.

"How's that?", asked killua.

"This is an endurance test. That's how.", said leorio.

"No, it's not", both I and gon said.

"What are you both blabbering about especially you Mia?", questioned Leorio.

"Look the examiner only said to him alright he didn't tell us exactly how to follow.", I replied.

"yeah that's why both he and Mia are not cheating.", said Gon while smiling.

"Hm", saying that Killua slowed down and came before us and asked, "How old are you both?"

"12", We both replied.

Then he did a cool stunt with his skateboard and caught it. 'So cool' I nearly squealed out loud though I was keeping my face neutral.

"Think I'll run for a little while", said killua.

"Wow! Cool", complimented Gon smiling wide.

"Yeah", I replied smiling lightly.

Killua was staring at me for a little longer then said "My name's Killua."

"Hi, I'm Gon.", answered Gon.

"I'm Mia. It's nice to meet you.", I said.

It's been four hours and we three are quiet after some talking. Suddenly Gon stopped then me and killua stopped too.

Leorio was panting hard looking very tired.

"Hey, forget about him we gotta keep moving.", urged Killua. Then he looked at me questionably and I just gestured for him to wait.

"I'M GONNA BE A HUNTER NO MATTER WHAT!!", Leorio shouted and ran in front of with new vigor.

Then Gon fished Leorio's briefcase with his fishing rod.

"Wow" "That was awesome", both me and killua said.

"Can I try that later?", asked Killua.

"me too I wanna try it too.", I asked too.

"yeah if both of let me try your skateboard and skates.", replied gon.

The examiner picked the pace again. "Hey, I've got an idea. Let's race to the finish and see who comes first.", said Killua.

"Okay, only if the winner gets dinner as a prize.", said Gon.

Then both of them looked at me," Yeah let me change skates to shoes real quick", I said.

then I clicked the buttons then the skates turned to shoes. "wow", said both Gon and Killua.

"But can u handle it though", said killua smirking.

"Yeah I can", I replied annoyed.

"we'll see", said Killua.

Then we talked about why we all wanted to be a hunter. Then we saw leorio and kurapika.

"see u at the finish line both of u", said gon

"Yeah old man", said Killua.

"What can't u tell I'm a teenager just like u all?", asked leorio. While all of them were questing there ears I quickly took their photo.

As we saw the end of the tunnel we sped up I used limitless to speed up a little and reached the end 1st.

"GOOOOAL", Shouted both killua and gon.

"I came first.", said Gon happily.

"No, I did", argued killua.

"I did"

"NO, I did"

"who cam 1st Mr. Satotz?", questioned Gon

"well if you are asking between the two of u both finish simultaneously if u are asking for the actual one then it's the young lady behind u both", answered Satotz.

"heya", I greeted them.

"wha How?", questioned Killua.

"MAGIC", I said teasingly.

"Now tell me who said that I can't handle it?", I questioned playfully.

"whatever", said Killua turning away.

"Is this the beginning of the 2ns phase Mr. Satotz?", asked Gon.

"No, we still have a long way left to reach the 2nd phase.", answered the examiner.

Then rested while we waited for the other applicant's arrival. 'Hm, this body is fitter than my previous body because I couldn't even run for 20 min without panting in my previous body. Well, I'll enjoy the chance I've got.'
