During this week, he thought about how to get rid of his past life's memories and make the best outcome. So he started to write about goals and notes on how to enjoy his life. He didn't write about future events. How the hell would that help him enjoy his life? How in hell knowing the future would make his life exciting? So he only wrote some goals that might lead to an exciting life.
He also thought about his Nen ability. He had some thoughts and impressions about it but would take some time to experiment on. He also thought of different ideas on how to increase his Nen capacity and further, abilities.
He wrote all that in a diary and make a note for himself to only open this diary after getting rid of his past life memories. Now, he would like to enjoy the warmth of a family.
The week passed quickly, and the time to meet his GG-grandfather had come. He headed to the hut that Xeno preferred to stay at with his wife, Lucy Barn.
He knocked on the door and then entered. He saw Xeno and Lucy looking at him with a smile.
"So you came, my boy. Well, sit down first. We will start after eating. Your GG-grandmother wanted to chat with you." said Xeno.
"Come here, Geno. Eat some meat, child," said Lucy while putting some meat on Geno's plate.
"Thanks, GG-grandma," said Geno with a smile on his face.
"I told you to call me, Lucy." pouted Lucy with a soft smile on her face.
After having dinner and Lucy warning her husband that he would sleep on the floor if he hurt Geno, Xeno and Geno headed to a training ground.
After arriving, Xeno saw a hesitant look on Geno's face. He sighed, then asked, "what? Speak your mind. What is troubling you?"
Geno looked at his GG-grandpa's eyes and said, "GG-grandpa, Can I call you old man?"
Xeno was stunned and didn't know whether to cry or laugh at the troubled look on Geno's face.
"Call me whatever you want. What else?" asked Xeno.
"So old man, Xeno, will be alright?" asked Geno trying to hold his laugh seeing the black lines appearing on Xeno's face.
" so, I was thinking of concentrating on my hatsu, Nen principles, and Guo only, in the next two years. After that, I will learn advanced principles." Said Geno remembering the first goal he wrote in the diary.
"And why is that? From what I saw, you can start advanced principles in two days. Although familiarizing yourself with your Nen abilities is good and needs time, It takes time to come up with a Nen ability and more time to add it to your fighting style." Asked Xeno proposing his little Geno.
"I can give you five reasons for that now. First, I need a strong foundation, no, need to be hasty. Second, I have a modification on the Zetsu, I think it may help me with my ability. Third, I think my hatsu is more complicated than we think and I need to focus on it. Fourth, I need to, do us on the martial arts, grandpa Leonard taught me. Lastly, I want to spend more time with the family" said Geno while releasing a battle intent.
Hearing Geno's reasons and seeing the battle intent in his eyes, he sighed.
"Fine, but I will check your progress personally, and if I am not content with what I see, you won't like what will happen. Also, while doing that, you must experience fights, especially life and death fights. So, once a week, you will come here, and I will prepare your fights." said Xeno giving the final verdict.
"ok." nodded Geno.
"ok, let's start with your Ren," said Xeno.
Geno nodded and activated Ren. It took him three hours and ten minutes to run out of breath this time.
He took a rest then activated it again. The process repeated itself again and again till a week passed.
At the end of the week, his aura doubled, and he was able to last four and a half hours. That was good progress, so they decided to take a rest and prepare for his first fight.
His opponent had been decided when Xeno prepared a shadow wolf for him to fight. Shadow wolves are one of the creatures living in this forest ruins. Although not the most powerful, they are in the middle ranks of power in the forest. Their power is in their ability to use Nen to move between shadows. They are very agile and can even transform into what looked like a werewolf.
Lola told him about them and warned him not to fight them, especially at night. She told Geno that when she was thirteen, her father threw her in the middle of a group of them at night. Lola left that fight full of injuries and scratches. She didn't even land a hit on any of them.
And now Xeno was asking him a four-year-old kid to fight an adult one at night and the condition for success was to defeat it. Although there was a bonus reward if he killed the wolf, there was a failure punishment if he failed.
Geno cursed the old man in his head countless times, seeing the amused look on his face. Geno took a deep breath and calmed himself, then started to feel excited. His battle intent was over the top. He would fight the creature the kicked his aunt's ass when she was thirteen when he was only four.
He readied himself and took a stance of murderous taekwondo taught by his grandfather, and because Geno knew that he didn't learn En yet, so he had to depend on his senses and reaction speed, but couldn't use Zetsu, or Geno would be killed without him knowing.
That gave him the thought of experimenting with his modification on Zetsu. He wondered what would happen if he only closed some aura nodes around his important senses and keep the aura around the rest.
Although a good idea, the wolf wouldn't give him the time. The wolf dove into the shadow of the night, and he couldn't see it anymore. He had to make it work, or the consequences would be fetal. He tried to isolate the aura nodes around his ears and close them, but that hit him and hit him hard because Geno forgot that the nodes were connected in some pattern in his body, so he had to figure the pattern, before and make a bridge for the aura to pass through. That little mistake led to closing nodes on his neck and chest.
The wolf saw a chance and slashed his claws from the shadows aiming at Geno's neck. Geno stepped back as fast as he could but still got a cut on his chest. Seeing the blood, he licked his lips and tried closing the nodes around his eyes, ears, and nose after figuring the pattern. Geno did it this time, although it needed to be perfected. Now, at least he could sense the wolf attack.
Geno then spent most of his time dodging the wolf's attack, trying to figure his attack pattern, and While Geno was focusing, he noticed that he could see the wolf's attack in slow motion or the wolf's speed was decreased. Geno focused again and sensed as if the time around him passed slowly. Not only that, he sensed most of the attacks nearly did the damage as if directed to a different space. He was shocked senseless. He knew at, normal, his Nen category was classified, as transmuter. So his aura transformed into space and time aura.
He looked at the old man and saw a knowing look at his face as if he already knew. He calmed himself and decided to end the battle fast so he could do some experiments.
He tried to provoke the wolf to bring it to make a move.
"Hey, puppy, puppy. Come out, puppy, puppy."
He tried to sense the fluctuations of the space aura around him to try and locate the wolf. A second later, a claw slashed towards his head. He decreased the flow of time the most he could do. Then dodged that attack and attacked the wolf in the shadow where the fluctuations happened.
He used inner qi palm on where he thought the wolf heart. The wolf flew away coughing blood and laid down on the ground not moving.
