Departure

Fate would be putting on his clothes, which consisted of a plain black sweater and some blue jeans. He'd then grab his backpack which had his equipment in it.

"Mom...I'm headed to the ship!" Fate would head out the doors of the small house on a hill. He'd follow the path down as his mother followed after him. "Don't worry Mom, I'll come back. And once I do I'll be a hunter!" His mother was on the verge of tears as she followed after him to the ship.

At the ship, a decent amount of men would also be getting on. "Fate....." His mother called out to him. Fate would turn around to see his mother who would pull him close and hug him tight. "I love you..."

Fate would hug her as well, "I love you too." he told his mother.

"Don't worry, I'll be safe!" He said as he got onto the large ship which held more than 50 men. Fate looked around to see the glares shot at him from different people but it didn't phase him and he just wanted to find a spot to rest at.

Fate would stop in his tracks at the sight in front of him, "Heh...so I'm on his ship..." Fate would look at Gon who was talking to the captain of the ship. "If Gon's here then that means Kurapika and Leorio are also on this ship." Fate would continue to look around on the ship until he found a spot to rest. "And if this plays out like in the anime then that means a storm will come soon I must be prepared to withstand it."

The waves were raging as they crashed against the ship, the lightning flashes and thunderclaps were loud and frightening. Fate would be seated next to some other men who were already on the verge of throwing up. "Ughh~ I guess I'm not the best at sea..just a little more I have to hold it together..." The waves were getting worse as Fate felt the shop practically almost flip over as they were now riding up a giant wave. "AGHH!!" Fate would scream in shock as he and many others flew to the walls.

On the other hand. The captain was laughing and cackling as he rode the wave, "Pipsqueks can't even handle such a small wave as this!" He said.

The storm had now subsided and the only ones who had made it through were Gon, Kurapika, Leorio, and of course Fate. The captain had them lined up side by side as he talked to them.

"So, why do you want to become a hunter?" He asked Gon.

Gon responded as he originally did wanting to find his dad etc, the captain then went over to Fate, in which he asked the same question. "To adventure across the world and experience new things while also getting stronger along the way," Fate responded.

"Hey, what's your name?" Gon asked. "Fate, what's yours?" "My name is Gon!" Fate and Gon conversated while the captain was questioning Kurapika and Leorio, and of course, the same order of events took place as the captain had now revealed the hunter exam had already started and threatened to drop them from the exam if they didn't answer his question they would of course then answer his question truthfully about what they wanted or were looking for. After this Leorio and Kurapika would argue and insult each other before they went outside the ship, and in which another storm had brewed.

There Kurapika and Leorio stood before each other, ready to battle one another. The same order of events took place after this and now here we are. Where Gon, Kurapika, and Leorio were all helping one another in saving the crewmember who had nearly fallen from the ship during the storm. Fate just watched as he didn't want to disrupt or ruin anything.

They would land on the island where they would be tested by yet more people before the true hunter exam started.

After 2 different tests, with the Kiriko beast and the granny who asked the questions. Fate was now traveling to the official hunter exam with the others. 'I rarely had to even do anything, it mostly played out like it normally would have, I mean some stuff was different but that was only because I was there...' And now here they were, in the elevator on the way to the exam.

The elevator doors opened and in front of them were hundreds of people also waiting for the exam to start. As they stepped into the room they were handed their tags by Beans.

Tonpa was already coming up with his diabolical plans to destroy the new rookie's chances at the exam. "Hey, you guys must be thirsty hmm? here go some sodas..." He would hand them the laxative-filled drinks and wait for them to drink them, but Fate looked at the drinks already knowing his plans and what he is up to. 'Since I'm here Tonpa won't be needed in this exam like in the anime.' Fate thought, "No thanks, I'm not thirsty." Gon and the others would crack open the soda and instantly spit it out, "Tonpa this drink tastes weird...must have gone bad or something.." Gon said, Kurapika and Leorio would also spit out the drink.

After this Killua would show up to talk to Tonpa "Hey, let me get another one of those drinks!" "Oh..Huh? Sure." Tonpa would give him a drink, and Killua would then turn to look at Tonpa before saying, "Don't worry I'm trained, posions don't work on me."

"AUGHHHHH!" A chilling scream could be heard throughout the room, everyone would turn to look at the source of the scream. A man had just got his arms cut off by none other than Hisoka. "You should apologize when bumping into someone." Tonpa watched this in horror. "Tch..that guy is dangerous make sure to stay away from him..." He turned to tell Fate and the others.

Satotz would step into the room and introduce himself, he'd then inform everyone that the exam has now started. Satotz would turn and start to jog at a decently fast pace, and of course, everyone followed along. "Everyone up front started to run.." Leorio said.

Nearly 5 hours in, Satotz did not slow down but he only sped up. Everyone was sweating and tired, Leorio was on the verge of giving up, and alongside him was Fate. "HAH! What the hell...It's worse than I imagined!" His body was covered in sweat and he was running out of stamina very soon. "HAUGHH" Leorio was grunting.

Fate thought back to his old life, and all the trauma he suffered and went through. "THERE'S NO WAY I CAN STOP RIGHT NOW!.." Fate would send it full speed ahead and would catch up to Gon, who was in the middle of meeting Killua. Leorio watched Fate as he ran off and caught up with everyone else, "THERE'S NO WAY I CAN STOP HERE EITHER!!" He'd yell before also bolting it to catch up with everyone else.

The running portion of the exam had now been concluded. Fate, Gon, Kurapika, Killua, and Leorio had all made it through. Fate was gasping for air while Gon and Killua were still talking about who won the race between the two.

everyone looked ahead to see the huge jungle before them, which had many different beasts and wild animals inside. They had to be ready to follow Satotz through the jungle. Many groaned wondering just how they were going to keep up with him in such a big place.

The second phase was now close to starting.
