Unconvinced Kikyo

When he heard his new mom's question, Hiruma was surprised.

'Wasn't I alone earlier?'

He wondered, a little troubled, then thought,

'Good thing I didn't take out the Golem and explore my unlimited spaces then. It would cause more problems now...'

Kikyo didn't back down as she watched him go silent; she did the opposite. She was still wearing her robotic and macabre oculus when she said, confiningly,

"What's with the pause, Hiruma? Am I right? Are you trying to hide something momentous from me?"

Hiruma swallowed, trying not to make it obvious when he heard his mother's firm tone.

His mother's unexpected question presented him with several issues, including his fluctuating Chi or: life energy. He still needed to unlock Nen but had always been aware of noteworthy events.

He remembered too many clues from the original, beginning with Wing, Hisoka, and the dreadful Phantom Troupe. All living creatures were surrounded by a life aura that changed depending on their emotions; if he said no to Kikyo's question, she had this simple way to tell if he was lying. She only needed to read his mood.

He wasn't able to control it yet.

Hiruma, on the other hand, had little choice at the moment. Even if his fingers were to be shredded in the torture chamber, he couldn't announce that he was a transmigrator; it was the connectedness of a happy Andrew.

Let alone his system, he intended to demonstrate his turn-based abilities and the rest when he met Nen. He could cook any lie with Nen, even if his family refused to accept his inevitability. Because Alluka was possessed by an insoluble wish demon known as Nanika, his special abilities could never appear overpowering. Nanika could grant infinite wishes with draconian conditions.

It was the power of infinite wishes, according to Killua.

Hiruma disagreed but had no plans to put his theory to the test; he didn't know what to do if humanity was wiped out for her to replenish her power. He was perplexed about why the system had transported his soul to this world of Nen, of all places, first. However, if he was born a god or a devil, he would appear dire and not particularly magical in this world and manor.

"Are you referring to the seeds I had earlier? Honestly, I don't have any more of them."

Since he could not lie, Hiruma decided to tell the truth. He didn't answer Kikyo's questions, though...

"Don't get around my questions, Hiruma."

Kikyo exhaled with annoyance. She continued in the same breath,

"What type of seeds were they? What effect did the white light have on them? Did you use Nen by accident? After they vanished in your hands, your presence became a little fainter. And your subsequent sprint was exceptional, even for you..."

Hiruma was surprised to hear,

'Fainter? My presence? That's interesting...'

The cat-mouse game with his mother didn't last indefinitely, though. After he eluded more of her questions, she sighed with a bit of unhappiness and said,

"Alright enough, Hiruma; since you won't reply, I won't harass you the day right before your birthday. You are free to leave; please contact Kalluto for me."

Hiruma could tell Kikyo wouldn't give up her investigation as he was leaving.

She was the persistent and nosy type.

But he sneered a little on the inside.

If he knew her well enough, he wouldn't have to worry about anything else starting the next day, despite what she said earlier in the corridor when Killua left.

Several minutes later.

Back in his ordinary but spacious room, with the money from Milluki, Hiruma recalled something,

'Somebody's probably spying on me now, right? Kikyo, maybe? That's not a good idea to try things now that I know I'm being watched. My system has explained everything, and the exchange store is equally visible if I don't vanish into the small world... I'm willing to wait a day for my safety.'

To pass the time, Hiruma decided to do some intense physical exercise for his safety.

When finished, he washed and slept, impatiently anticipating the next day.
